Good Morning all. Cloudy day here in northern Michigan with a snow storm to our south. That’s fine, we’ll share

Nothing much doing here today other than some errands in town, bit of laundry etc. usual stuff. Had a nice visit with my friends yesterday. Thry will be coming here next Friday and we are going to a small local RV show. That will be fun.

Martha, Fat Tuesday or Shrove Tuesday as it is also called, the day before Lent begins, is a day when Christian religions, not just Catholic, celebrate the last day before Lents period of fasting, by using up and eating all the fatty foods in their house. Every nationality has their traditional feasts, some being sweets like paczki, King cakes, pancakes and others have very elaborate meals with a ton of food, that after reading about them, I wonder how you can eat it all. But it all had to go.

So, I to am going to go, hit the shower and then the road. Hope you all have a nice day wherever you are.

I looked up Mardi Gras online and supposedly it means fat Tuesday in French. I don't speak French so don't know.

The barn guys are working on the door so they are probably about through at the barn. I don't know if they will start on the carport today or not. I had to start the Mazda with a battery charger so moved it anyway. If I was ambitious I would wash it while it in the yard. The motorhome is in the front yard and I could wash it too. It is windy so I would end up wet too. I just hate to get the yard any wetter than it already is. There is a pallet of bags of cement in the barn. I don't know what they are going to do with all that cement.

We are having a few snow showers this morning but it is too warm for any to stick. I picked daffodils that were blooming in our yard yesterday. Sunday as I drove past the peach orchards I could see tinges of pink! It is way too early. I have finally decided to have cataract surgery! I had an appointment with surgeon yesterday and will have one more before they schedule THE day. I'm getting something called Panopltix IOL which will let me see distance and close up. I really don't need close up but if they do the other type lens I would have to wear reading glasses and I do not want to do that. I think the other choice was to have one corrected for distance and one for close up. The ones I picked cost quite a bit more but I think it will be worth it.
I just had a strange thing happen as I was typing a message on my iphone right under where I was typing the name of one of my friends from Ireland popped up with a 1-818 phone number! I have no idea how that could happen. There was no message or anything after I sent the message. Very weird!!
Guess I need to get lunch I have yoga class at one. Oh while I was at the eye doctor I was telling one of the technicians that I taught chair yoga and she said she was going to ask if I could come and do a class for their office as they were having a healthy living program. Maybe I can work off part of my eye cost! :):)

You know BJ, I got the Alcon PanOptix trifocal Toric IOLs? Had surgery in Dec and though I continue to have issues with dry eye and the left one is out of focus ( it landed too far back in the capsule due to the degree of my near sighted ness in that eye) and will need changing out in April , I am overall happy I chose the option. The only thing you really need to get used to is increased need for light when reading very small print due to the focal rings of the IOLs needing extra light as they reduce light coming into the eye. If I have a head lamp or flashlight I can read the tiniest print you can imagine, though my phone and other stuff i can read fine. I can drive without glasses and get up at night and not need to reach for glasses. Usually the surgeries are done on two different days as you have significant blurring on the day of surgery and a day or so after, but that quickly gets bette. By the time I left the surgery center I could already see better. I think you will be happy with PanOptix, it's an amazing invention.
I need to get ready for Curves, I slept in this morning. Then it's back to the usual ongoing projects here. I wish I could plan trips, but between needing that left IOL changed ( dr said April) , and VA stuff for my disability ratings and stuff to find out why my back has been giving me worse issues than usual since October and my sons appointments, it's difficult to predict when I'll be available.
Happy travels everyone whatever you are doing near or far.

The man washing/waxing my rig started at 7. I had told my friend Ginger I'd go to lunch with her. But the more I thought about it, the less I wanted to pay before the job was finished. So Ty and I are in the casita. And it's cold in here!. I finally brought an electric heater in and it's improving. I couldn't believe he started washing the rig when it was still in the low 30's! Today's not going to get very warm, but the sun's out and tomorrow should be in the low 70's (and I can stay in my warm bed during those cold early morning hours).

I've not been told I have need of cataract surgery yet. I'm sure my day will come. I'm hoping it'll be awhile though. The last two eye appts my distant vision improved! And I believe it's improved a bit since. I guess this isn't unusual, but I sure was surprised after it getting worse most checkups, all my life.
