Besides the lengthy drive going and coming and being much more willing to drive long days in the Chrysler van than any RV I've ever owned, the projected temperatures persuaded me to stay in a motel. For the price of RV gas and wear cost of parking at the show site, I can just about cover the van gas and the motel.....and be warm.

I have considered that if temps were not to extreme I would be willing to van camp in a camp ground on the way to places. Oh, the conditions that can be tolerated if only for a short while....and to save money!

I've been doing anything but saving money with this new casita... The other never felt like home to me, but this one I feel like I can make into home while here. Luckily my purchases haven't broken the bank... YET... LOL Yesterday I bought a used fridge. Today, with help, we rolled it down to my site. The two guys helping said it couldn't go through the door of the room I wanted to put it. They say I'd have to take its doors off but I'm going to try something tomorrow... If I'm not successful it'll stay in the living area. Wish me luck.

didn't read what the expected temps are going to be but I vote for warmth as well... it was so cold while in Ogden that I think I went through 2 full 7 gal propane tanks plus part of others. Not to mention the use of the electric throw
2 months huh you will be able to say you saw a lot of Texas.... what all do you plan on seeing?
trying to get used to the new generator sometimes I wonder about it like right now seems to be racing... but have gotten used to the vibration ... more or less
I think you made a good choice with upgrading Beth...and hopefully you can put it where you want it to be without to much effort

Campfire way down so tossing on a log
Had to replace the rear brakes on the jeep and one rotor. One of thr mechanics from work did it and saved me quite a few dollars. Then came home and started cleaning out closets and stuff in thr motor home. Preping for my trip to Q in january. Have a friend that will follow me with my jeep so doing some trails is in the works. Dont have the funds yet for all the tow stuff, even shopping for used. I did however decide on my brake controller and its $800. However, it stays in the jeeo mounted under the seat and wont be a hassel when i want to drive it. I can get the baseplate first, its cheapest and then the rest as time goes on. We have a light sprinkle of rain tonight, window open and air feels clean and fresh.
Certainly cant complain about the weather. Tomorrow i shall vacuam nooks and crannys in the motorhome and put stuff back away. Under the bed and all the closets got emptied on the bed and also the dinette booth. Its a real mess lol

I was certainly looking forward to spending more time in my Q desert spot but of course a few priorities got in the way. Now i look forward to paying off the jeep and retiring AGAIN!! lol This working thing sure gets in the way of lufe after retirement lol

sitting here in Vegas feeling chilled so decided to find the campfire!! it was on another page
My niece and her husband got the painting done we hope but not sure as the dark red seems to be streaked we are hoping that it dries and looks good ... me personally not betting on it...
it's my nieces birthday today... what a gift to her mom
and we had Filipino food for supper was so good but they didn't send rice what in the world no rice and Adobo you put on top of rice was diffidently missed
might be able to sleep in for some reason have been waking up earlier than normal but at the same time when I think upon it an hour earlier than we are in Q maybe the difference
this body is tired did a lot of bagging up boxing up lifting and putting it in... and there is still the entertainment center to do it is massive and one that has curio shelves with a lot of nic nacks on it ... my bil used to collect eggs so a shelve for them sad thing is its really hard to see them or anything else on the shelves... she is getting rid of all her china ect
guess she thinks not using it might as well go not my style and no place anyway
so question one set has 21 saucers it's a service for eight so why so many saucers???

Good idea, Sheila. Temps dropped and windy today. Will stay chilly tomorrow but while the temps will be lower, I'm predicting without the wind it'll feel not as bad. Then back into the 70's for a few days.

My doctor today only wanted to do a follow up blood test to see if my natural remedies are working on cholesterol. He knows I'm anti-statins so if not, we'll have to look at other natural remedies. My diet could use adjusting, I know. And there are so many other studies about cholesterol. That said, my blood pressure is exceptional lol.

I love being able to repurpose things. The curtains I had used to hide the overcab in this rv but took down a year or so ago, work for the three windows in the living area of the casita. They aren't quite what I'd pick, but the price is definitely right. Walmart had the already cheap rods that would fit on the brackets already on the windows on clearance at $1 each! Funny thing is that the windows aren't exactly the same size. The width varies a bit. And that rod is sagging a bit in the center.

Tomorrow morning the couple who wash and wax my rig are coming. They'll probably be here by 7 (and I'll probably wake up to him walking on my roof ... Actually Ty will bark sooner). That'll be my alarm clock tomorrow. So I'm about to try to get to sleep early tonight.

To follow up on my post above about taking natural remedies for my cholesterol... A nurse from my doctors office called me today to say they are working better than the doctor expected and not to change a thing.

Beth, what natural remedies are you doing for your cholesterol? Mine is a little on the higher side but has stayed almost the same for the last 10 years.

I decided to make a Walmart, bank and post office run this afternoon. Walmart had 2 checkout lanes open. Grrrrrrrr The people in front of me had a basket full of Mardi Gras stuffed animal and stuff that was on sale. I ask the cashier what they were going to do with it and she said they were giving it to their grandkids, nieces and nephews. All I could think was what a load of junk.

I sure didn't want to walk this afternoon because the wind was about 30 mph and cold but we went anyway. It's suppose to get down to the lower 30's tonight but warm up by Saturday.

Martha, I'm taking 1800 mgs of Red Yeast Rice and 500 mgs of Niacin a day. I take 2 tablets of the Red Yeast Rice after food early in the day and 1 of those and the Niacin after dinner. (I'm also taking calcium and other vitamins, but those two are for cholesterol). Should anyone be interested I'd recommend trying just the Red Yeast Rice and only adding the Niacin if necessary. I did it the opposite way. Niacin causes "flushing" which is totally safe but annoying. So instead of increasing my dosage of Niacin, I added the Red Yeast Rice and continued with the lowest Niacin dosage.

Harold's heart doctor had him taking Niacin but I don't remember why.

I read somewhere that pre-natal vitamins were good for your hair. They also contain extra iron. I'm not sure they helped my hair but I think the extra iron helped. I hadn't been able to give blood for a while because my blood count was too low. The last time I went to give blood my blood count was normal.
