Lundi Gras 2020

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It looks like the parades today are going to get wet. At least it's warm.

The barn guys showed up at 9:00 this morning and went to lunch at 11:00. The rain is about 30 miles West of here so when they get back from lunch they can pack up and go home. Barbie, it looks like your wind got here. They picked a bad day to be working with sheets of metal on top of a barn.

Sugar found the recliner this morning. That's Posie's favorite spot. I didn't want to walk yesterday but she guilts me into walking. I keep forgetting to feed the cats behind the house so Mini Moo walks with us. Sugar wants to play with the neighbors dog but he's a big chicken. He's afraid of the cat.

The sole of my barn shoes was flapping this morning. Guess I'll have to move the semi good shoes to barn shoes and buy some new ones next time I go to Lafayette.

It’s Monday

Postby Othersharon » Mon Feb 24, 2020 1:16 pm

Good early afternoon to all. Not sure where my morning went! But woke up to sunshine for the 4th day in a row! I think that’s got to be a record for this winter. I think Rascal and I will go for a walk this afternoon before the rain moves in. And snow forecasted for the end of the week. Barbie, I love the teal color you are using on your home. Really perks it up. Hope Sue is okay and just busy painting. Been kinda quiet from MI this past week. Liz, I too was happy to see your post.
Rascal seemed under the weather last evening. Maybe he was upset with me since I had small people here for a bit yesterday morning. He has never done well with little ones. He runs away and then just barks at them. Usually he runs out on the porch and sits and barks. If they are here for awhile he warms up to them a bit but never seems comfortable. If they just ignore him he’ll approach them at some point. I’ll never forget the first time my then small grandson got to pet him. Such a look of joy that he got to pet him. Now that he’s much bigger it doesn’t seem to be a problem. When we’re out and about he does fine, it just seems to be here in the house. And Rascal has never snapped at one of them or anything. Just won’t get close. Probably our fault for not exposing him to small people earlier on.
So that’s about it for me today. Hope everyone is having a good Monday and like me counting the days to spring! At least those of us in the colder climates! Travel safe.

I guess lots of us with nothing to say LOL. Today was a laundry day (not done, but put a dent in it), I'm sorting through things in the rv that I might be able to use in the casita. And taking more out to store in the casita.

My friend Ginger made a surprise visit late this afternoon. Ty adores her and was up front whining/crying/trying not to bark before she even turned down our street. He started barking full out when she turned into our lot. I was starting to yell at him and then saw her car. He knows her car from a distance. And he didn't calm down for a good 1/2 hour after she came in. At that time he laid hugging her side. He's so funny.

It's not even 10pm and I am falling asleep reading this. I got to bed late last night and had to get up early this morning so probably why I am so tired tonight.

Busy day at work and good tips. Need to get some stuff done tomorrow before going back to work in the afternoon.

Got up to almost 90 degrees here today! Too early for that!

Here is a pic with the metal sculptures on the shed. They actually match with the chairs and table better than it shows on here. (I just noticed the fence is not centered. Will fix that tomorrow. I need to secure it to the shed anyways. It is just leaning against it right now.)

Lundi Gras is the Monday before Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday. Not sure why they call it Fat Tuesday. Maybe because Lent starts tomorrow. I'm not catholic but I like all the seafood specials that they have during Lent.
