Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday February 21st - A/C Now Heat

Mornin' ladies~~~
Hope everyone is doing OK this Friday in February. Rained yesterday here in north Florida and with it came cold temps. Shirts and t-shirt the other day. Today, jeans, sweatshirt and ski jacket. Good day for laundry I guess. :?

Will be leaving Florida and heading into Georgia on Sunday. So I'll see what new adventure awaits, but dont have any big sightseeing plans in the near future.

Lyn, glad your DD seems to be on the mend and JudyJB, take care of yourself.

That's it from me. Stay safe and warm wherever you are.
Cheryl

Nothing great going on here either. We are supposed to be 60° today so that is a plus. I am off to the eye doc for a "poke in the eye" this week and next week. Then have 4 weeks off.
The rest of the day is usually shot so will find something on the tv to watch and just veggie out.

Good morning gals!

The nights have been a little warmer lately so I have been able to keep the furnace off some nights. Left it off last night and was OK thru the night. Was a bit chilly this morning so I turned it on for a bit to take the chill out. Days are near 80 so I have the windows open then. I know I get a lot of air coming thru the windows (single pane) and I have wanted to figure out a way to insulate them from the cold and heat. In MN I used the stick-on window insulation kits in the winter which work really good, but here, I want to be able to open the windows when the temps are decent and get some fresh air. I found a window insulator kit on line that attaches with magnets so they are easily removable when I want to open a window or two. I will buy a couple kits and see how that goes. They have great reviews. Hopefully, it will save on my electric bill, especially in the summer when I have to run my AC 24/7.

Need to check on my painted window frame this morning and see how it looks. Then proceed with the other windows and door frames. I may have someone else do the windows on the back of the house since the ground is sloped and a little uneven and the windows are a lot higher. I don't want to fall off the ladder! :o

I volunteered a while back, to help keep track of golf scores for our putting league. I was given a thumb drive to download the program on my laptop, but can't figure out how to pull it up now. I am meeting with the lady today who usually does it so she can help me with that.

Then off to work this afternoon. I have the weekend off. Tomorrow there are a lot of things going on. I have a ticket for a vintage trailer show in Palm Springs for their Modernism Week events. However it is supposed to rain tomorrow morning. Also there is a craft fair here at the park, and also a new/remodel home tour here of some of the park models. If it rains, I may stay home and do those instead. We'll see...

Have a good day! :D

Hi Cheryl, Karen & Barbie!

Cheryl, yesterday and the day before, we had the a/c on during the day and heat on at night. Today, we've had the heat on all day and it'll run all night. Tomorrow is supposed to be a little warmer, but not enough for me to not wear leggings under my jeans.

Karen, I hope your eye appointments go well. What is the poke in the eye?

Barbie, are you planning on buying elsewhere?

Judyjb, I worry about you and your family. Try to find some "you" time.

It's been chilly in Ocala today and I don't think I've so much as stuck my nose out the door. Our high was 55 and tonight we're supposed to get down to 36. This is definitely the longest, cold winter we have spent here. We are re-thinking things, but to go further south would be very pricy and we'd live in a campground parked like sardines. So we guess cold is better than being in MD.

I went to Lafayette to see about my Verizon tablet. They ordered me a new one. The traffic was heavy. I guess since it wasn't raining and the sun was out that everyone was out. I went to Marshalls that was in the same shopping center as the Verizon store. Marshalls was packed too.

The barn repair men didn't come today. I called and the girl in the office didn't know when they are suppose to be coming. It's suppose to rain again Monday. Monday and Tuesday are the end of Mardi Gras so some businesses are closed. I could have stayed in Florida longer.

Barbie, Lily looks like she is happy in her new home. She is such a pretty cat. My goof ball that was missing for 2 weeks is hanging around. It's not the first time he was missing for a while. Someone must be feeding him or he's a good hunter.

It's suppose to get down to 32 tonight but doubt it will get that cold here.

Irmi the "poke in the eye" is my monthly injections because of macular degeneration fluid behind my retina. So far it is keeping stabilized...whew But they did change medication today because the doc said it wants to see it improved so we shall see. They dilated both eyes today as they needed to do scans..........always screws up my day as everything looks foggy for a few hours so cant read the paper, my phone, or computer...but I can watch tv as I can see distance. Had a headache tonight from my injection but took some meds and it is improving. Get the other eye done next week..........so a repeat performance. I get it done on Thursday and will drive up to Salem to visit my BFF and see her new home for the weekend. My eye is always better by morning.

I'm thinking I should go back and reread yesterday's so I don't repost what I said yesterday
actually I don't think I will have to as I rethought today's ....cleaned on the frig tossed some stuff that I wasn't sure about the rest will reevaluate after I have a frig it's mostly pickles syrups stuff of that nature... had my friends come out so he could undo the thingy that closes the oil so I could change the oil... it sure is on tight... then found out that I don't have a water leak yea!!!! so now I can use the faucets ect... and the generator is still running.... another yea....
made corn chowder today for games they all seemed to enjoy it.... it tasted good to me...
tomorrow it's suppose to rain but if the reports are good the worst of it will be over when I get to Vegas might just not be in a big hurry to get up...brought in the metal flowers bear and hummingbird that is usually outside... I will leave the chair's up I am almost sure the rest would be ok but don't care to see.... the guy who made the metal flowers is no longer alive so getting them isn't happening... just don't want to risk it...
on my way through Parker tomorrow will stop and see if they can determine why the break lights symbol is still on....

Thanks for everyone's concern. I am doing better, especially from the stress. My uncle is still in a wheelchair but speaking a little better, though not as well as before his hospitalization. At least they have taken him off the blood thinner Xeralto. I had been concerned about this after his one-night hospitalization a month ago, but they had said they were trying to prevent blood clots in his swollen legs. However, this time he required three units of blood, meaning he was seriously bleeding.

Two problems have been solved recently. The first is that we have managed to get his wife from freaking out when she cannot go to the hospital and doctor visits with him. They had literally not been separated for 50 years, so this was a real achievement. The second is that I finally have him scheduled for a urology appointment on Monday to get his catheter removed. They are concerned about him retaining urine, so will send a home care person to scan his bladder later in the day. In the meantime, I have been arranging wheelchair transportation and filling out pre-appointment paperwork every time he gets a new doctor. This time they also wanted copies of all his insurance cards and photo ID. All this and multiple phone calls takes a lot of time that I just don't have. Plus there is the stress of getting phone calls when anything goes wrong.

However, things seem to have settled down a bit, and I have mostly straightened up the mess in my motorhome. I also went out today and bought myself a new recliner. The old one was about 20 years old, so even the leather was tearing. Now I need to get my new hubcaps put on the two tires where they are missing. Also need to fix my toilet that does not want to turn off and do a couple of other minor things. I will feel better when things are fixed and stuff is under control, but on the way to that now. Uncle is having physical therapy to get him walking again, and he is eating better. Certainly, he is still in end-stage dementia, but as soon as PT is done, I will be calling in hospice.

Barbie, are you planning on buying elsewhere?

Irmi, no plans for that! Not sure where you may have gotten that idea from but, no, I am planning to stay here for a long time (until that good looking rich guy with the Malibu beach house shows up! ).

Judy, glad things are calming down a bit for you now. Hope it continues like that now.

I thought of you today, Judy, after spending 90 minutes "on hold" trying to get through to a "Patient Coordinator" office in my attempt to locate a new doctor for myself. I had found one that would take me on, but was told I would first need to get my initial appointment arranged through the Patient Coordinator. No one ever picked up the phone, I finally just hung up. On hold from 4:00 p.m to 5:30 p.m.

Since I retired, I am finding it increasingly impossible to find decent health care for myself, although I am well insured. My main options for care at present seem to be the local Urgent Care and/or the ER. I have twice been mis-diagnosed with very serious medical conditions (that I didn't have) by the nurse-practitioners at the local Urgent Care.

It does not inspire confidence.
