With the cooler weather folks are not staying at the beach all day.. Let’s get ice cream before dinner...Hey it’s working for us.. I camp with RV Women in Florida..Facebook group. Iam getting some gals with there grandchildren to go camping in June.. Four gals and children so far should be great times. Get the youngsters out there in the woods..

Mornin' Beki and sll who follow~~~

Left Fort Myers and up in Ocala now. I miss the west for the views and things to do. At Dads in West Palm Beach, I think the big tourist activity is shopping.

There is a draft horse show at the Florida horse park today, but it's rainy and foggy right now, but would like to go. Also want to sign up for a tour at the Gypsy horse farm for something to do.

Im not bummed, I'm bored!

Big news is I actually said rabbits today! I think that's the first time ever! Have a great February ladies.

Didn't speak to any rabbits here. Two weeks of work behind me. Wearing multiple layers at work and at home to stay warm enough. Audrey and Lark are resigned to their new normal of watching me leave in the dark in the morning.

Plans for the day might include a trip to a dog friendly warm store to practice some obedience and rally moves with the dogs. It was Cabalas last week. The dogs do enjoy that particular part of their new normal well that and that both of them get to sleep on the bed now that Josef has his own humans/sleeping beds over near Philadelphia.

The rig is still in the shop waiting for enough warmer sunny days to finish cleaning and resealing the roof. I think he is also waiting for a few parts. I plan to use my account to pay off the remaining bank loan so that I will have a clean title in my hand when I put it out on the market. It is stressful enough to deal with a private sale without going through a dealer but having a clean title and dealing directly with a bank should simplify the dog and pony show.

Have spent a few un-numbered hours on the internet looking up higher milage but well loved Roadtreks that have both the accommodations that should serve me at this place in my life and the price point that also works for me.

Spending less and less time on Facebook and liking my decision more and more. Messager still works for me as do texts and messages on here. About the only people I follow on FB are son and his family. (I don't want to miss any of their pictures.) My daughter stays off for professional survival. I don't need FB for inspirational messages and the forwarded trash makes me weary to wade through and sucks out time in my day that I would rather use more fruitfully. If someone really cares to share information or asks questions they still know how to find me and I cherish their Kindred Spirits and the effort to stay connected.

Yes, I forgot...again. Sitting here coughing and coughing. I feel fine, but keep coughing. No fever ever. No Coronavirus.
Had to leave class early yesterday because of the cough. Lasted through the lecture OK, but couldn’t do the treadmill.
Really nothing new going on with me. Thinking of you Judy, and your plans. Loved the Shenandoah.

Cheryl, you must be bored if you remembered Rabbits  Guess next year you will have to head west. FL’s nice, have been there many times, all over, and before it became the crowded snowbird retreat it is now. One can really enjoy it if you are a snowbird, go down every year and stay in same place, make friends and do activities etc. But those of us who like to get out and go and do, get bored quicker. I know, I am a person who wouldn’t be content to park in one spot for long. I like to visit an area, see the sites and move on. The desert SW has not appealed to me, sorry you gals out there :). Guess I’m too much of a woods and Waters person. So I am content to stay here, Winter or not. Plus when one is retired, who cars what it’s doing no out there if you don’t have to go someplace and don't have to deal with cleaning off the car for work or face a drive covered with snow when you get home :D

I have to admit it’s been a bit boring winter here this season so far. Been too much cloud cover and drizzly stuff. I’ve been keeping busy, but like it better when we have some snow, so I can get out and get some physical exercise, cleaning it up. Lot of people are saying Rory miss having snow. We have snow but we want the fluffy, get out and play in it stuff. Plow truck owners are saying their plows are feeling neglected ;) some are saying their snowblower are getting bored  But one has to be careful what one wishes for as you just might get it. We all agree though that dealing with Winter makes us tougher people, able to handle adversity better and be prepared for whatever nature throws at us or life too for that matter. We give no sympathy to those who leave for warmer climes in winter and then whine about a cold spring when they get back

Beki, good to hear the ice cream shoppe is doing good business. I’m sure come summer, it will do just as good. People love their summer ice cream. What’s the name off the shop? Have a great time at Hardee Lakes.

Down to the basement today, finish up the bit of foam Insulation stuff, did I say how much I hate that stuff  Then proceed with cleaning the basement. Buyer is supposed to get back with me about picking up my old recliner today too.

Time to get breakfast dishes done, get cleaned up and get moving here. Have a nice day everyone.

Good morning Everybody from rainy Florida. Beki, I was supposed to be at Hardee Lakes today for a week, but decided to delay my arrival until Monday. I wasn’t sure if it was happening because very few comments on the forum and I’m not on Facebook. Looking forward to meeting you on Monday. Like Sue said, once you know people there are things to do. Another reason to delay my arrival is the chili cook off the guys are doing here on Sunday and the football pool. It’s nice to have male energy around without the accompanying bull****. Enjoy today. I said rabbits this morning, but I'm pretty sure I spoke to Ty when I got up for a potty break during the night. My friend got hood of me yesterday and said they can get me in a site tomorrow, so I'll get there a day earlier. Will move closer today.

I love the first when so many chime in. Beki, I always thought it would be great to have an ice cream shop. But I really, really thought I'd end up with a book store. Ah, heaven!

I remembered Rabbits at midnight because I saw someone mention it either on here or Facebook.

Sugar is outside enjoying the sun and I'm running the Roomba. After her reaction to the weed eater I don't want her attacking the Roomba. I signed up for the RVillage rally in Florida and I'm trying to figure out if one of the kennels I have will work on the trip. Because of my floor plan I really don't have a lot of room for a kennel. I need to go to Petsmart for a harness. Can you use people soap on a dog or does it have to be dog shampoo? I won't use flea shampoo because we had a dog that was allergic to it. Not going to take that chance. She could use a bath. I have fussed at her about getting on the bed. I have to sleep with 3 cats, there's no room for a dog too.

If I was paranoid I would think they were watching me. Yesterday I mentioned eating salmon and today I have an email wanting to sell me Wild Alaskan Seafood. I know someone is watching because if you search for anything or click on something on Facebook you get ads for it.

Somehow I always manage to not go to Lafayette until a Saturday when the traffic is even worse.

Martha, when Peaches had fleas, lots of them, and her flea meds hadn't worked my vet said to bathe her in Dawn dish soap. The original one. It killed the fleas and I've used it ever since on my dogs when bathing them.

Good for you.

I deleted my Facebook account about two years ago, and don't miss it in the slightest.

Happy February!

My plan was to stay up until midnight so I'd remember Rabbits. I told myself outloud I needed to reheat the hot pad for my back - then I looked at the clock - it was 12:02 a.m.! Drats!

I'm still in Salome AZ and will probably just sit tight. Beginning to research parks along the Colorado River for next winter. Trying to take on the 'one project a day' - mine are mostly repairs and maintenance though there is some cleaning involved.

It was good to see those who were in Quartzsite and I had intended to get over there one more time before everyone traveled on. Sorry about the Florida rain, but missing Hardee Lakes.

I can't completely get off FB, but I'm cutting back more on the people I follow. Without FB, I'd know nothing of my Kansas grandchildren. I do more scrolling past junk than reading.

Lyn, sorry you are having such health issues, but love reading about your scooter adventures.

Certainly still crazy weather in a lot of places - makes me leery of making spring travel plans.

Wishing everyone a good month!

About Florida in the winter....it grew on me after spending time with Liz. She demonstrated over the years just how easy it was to come up with hiking trails and water to paddle. I enjoy a museum from time to time but it is the hiking and outside exploring that I am most drawn too. I also enjoy that beaches are available on both sides of Florida, within relatively short drives, when I need my beach walking fix. And, I don't have to drive across West Texas to get there!

And, Martha, if is isn't a bath getting ready for a dog show I use what ever human shampoo is in there. Main thing to be aware of is rinsing well and making sure the coat remains conditioned with a conditioner! If they end up with dry coat and skin, the other dogs will just talk about them behind their paws......

It's funny, Sue, but I like the wide open spaces! Woods, especially if it is thick woods, makes me feel claustrophobic. I do like water, but I like to look over it--large expanses, preferably. Most of my favorite places are on hills or slopes where I can look out for miles away. Cochiti Lake is one example, as is LePage Park along the Columbia River. Ditto for Valley of Fire, Willow Beach along the Black Canyon of the Colorado river, Zion National Park and Grand Canyon, north or south rims. (I like Grand Canyon because of the canyon views, but also the bike trails and the elk that wander into camp.)

A lot of people post that they like a site because of the privacy the trees and shrubbery provide, but those just make me feel closed in. Woods that I can see through are fine, however, especially if I can find a slightly open spot to get satellite. Interesting, however, how individual we all are. :) Nearly all campgrounds east of the Mississippi are in thick woods, which makes it hard to get satellite and makes me feel closed-in, which is why I like the west, I guess. Midway, where I am right now, is ringed by bald cypress trees, but it has a large pond in the middle. There are only campers on the outside of the ring, so I have the pond and other campers to watch, plus a lot of birds coming in for a visit, It is in the Big Cypress Preserve, right next to the Everglades.

It's been 30 years, but I used to use human baby shampoo on my dog because it is mild and does not hurt eyes, dog or human. But, I think you can use anything, actually.
