Next to Last Day of January

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Next to Last Day of January

Postby Colliemom » Thu Jan 30, 2020 8:19 am

Morning all. Sitting here watching the morning local news and drinking a protein shake, before getting my day started. My. new recliner is coming today :D so will do some housecleaning while siting for delivery, sometime after 11 this morning. The girls have been through their morning routines and are curled up in their beds sleeping.

Beth, glad you got to your destination safely, but sorry to hear you aren’t overly happy there. Hope you can move up to your friends earlier. Anne, I’m with you in the phone calls. I don’t answer them either. Let them go to my answering machine. Unless of course my caller I.D. Shows a friend’s number. They have the same pattern of ringing 3 times and then hang up. My favorite one was from, what was showing on caller I.D. As being from my cable company. Message would say they can’t process my payments from my credit card and need some info or my service would be disconnected. Yeah right. I don’t pay cable bills with my credit card. I have a friend who gets calls about her Windows computer. She has Apple
AARP just had an article on scammers, the tricks they play and how to avoid them. First thing was, don’t answer unknown calls you don’t recognize. Course now tax time is here, so thry will be trying rip offs there for awhile.

Got my reservations in for my end of July campout. Won’t be close by my friends though, but that’s okay. I had a chance to book a site near where they are hoping to be, but it was booked before I got it. I left the two sites I thought they would want and moved down the road. They are going to try for those 2 sites this morning. But there are first come, first serve sites in that area and if one happens to be open, I will just move down there.

I’m going to head to the kitchen for my morning fruit and then get going here, so wishing you a nice day and catch y’all later.

Good morning Sue and all who follow,
For those of you who knew Miss Mermaid, I want to tell you that her friends here at FloriLows Oaks
held a beautiful memorial service for her last night. Several people cooked her favorite shrimp dishes using her recipes and the tables were decorated in purple her favorite color. Songs were sung and poems read. She will be missed. Enjoy today. Peggy

Peggy, that sounds beautiful. Thanks for letting us know.

Sue, I don't dislike where I am. I dislike the wind! It's better this morning. That said, after visiting a few places in Yuma today, I'm going to hit the road tomorrow for short jaunts to check out other places on my way west. That's what I like to do. I didn't care for the place I had hoped to stay yesterday. The idea of boondocking on water drew me there, but the reality, for me, didn't live up to what I wanted. I'm sure others like it there. Hey, I never thought I'd want to stay in Q longer than my typical week or a bit more, but stayed over 5 weeks and enjoyed the entire time.

I have to answer most calls when in SD, as most of the vendors have my number. Otherwise I rarely answer numbers I don't know.

Good Morning, another scam is the one asking for information where you want your package delivered. Definitely do not answer that call.
I still have a cough, but, I feel good! Also lost my voice. Never had any fever with this cold. Read about that plane landing at March Air Force base from China. I am concerned that people here in the States are panicking unnecessarily. With world travel such as it is, this virus will be all over here soon. Use common sense and wash you hands.

Peggy, thanks for letting us know. I didn't really know Miss Mermaid but read her blog for years so felt like I knew her. She was certainly entertaining and had a lot of courage for what she went through.

I went to the meetup dinner last night. Good friends and good food but a long way to go for dinner. I had crab cakes with fried eggplant slices and a cream sauce over it. That makes me hungry for fried eggplant. I would rather have that than french fries. They had quite a few interesting things on the menu. The restaurant is only about 2 blocks off of I-49. I can see stopping there again going to or coming from a campout.

I let calls I don't know go to my voice mail so am down to one in the morning and one in the afternoon. They never leave a message so don't know what they are up to. I also get a lot of emails about packages, accounts needing updating and pay pal. I never click on one of their links. I have an msn email and they are good about picking up scam emails and I report the ones that get through.

It's another gray, damp day. Where is the sun? We are suppose to have more rain but I don't see any on the radar.

Last night I posted on my community's FB page about Lily and if anyone has seen her. This morning there was a post from the lady I gave her to saying that Lily had come back and was back in the house with her. I am happy about that but I wish she had let me know so I wouldn't have worried so much!

It got busy at work today and several ladies came in for shampoos and styles at the same time. The other two stylists were already starting on two of them and the third lady had shorter hair so I figured I could handle doing that one. I was OK while I was working on her but after she left, I started getting pain in my left wrist. It gradually got worse and worse with each haircut until it got so bad the pain was shooting up to my elbow. I had to leave early and was practically in tears all the way home. I put some prescription ointment on it and put the brace on so it is better but still hurts some. I have an appointment for tomorrow morning with my new doctor to get it looked at to see what is going on with it. This is the worst it has ever been.

My golf cart is going to the golf cart hospital on Monday. Looks like I may have to get a new charger after all. :(

Sunny and not so windy today. Maybe rain by Sunday and cooling off quite a bit after that. We need rain!

Sheila, I miss having you as my neighbor, too. Good news on finally being able to get this generator in. Wish I could go with again. My fingers and toes are crossed that the next one will be good! You really deserve a break.

Barbie, good news, but yes, I'd have thought she'd have told you. Bad news about your arm. I hope the doctor can figure this out so you can be pain free.

I was gone for a bit today and the people closest to me say Ty was whining. I asked if he was barking and they said not at all, whining. Hmm, this is new. When I got back he wasn't whining or barking. I have no clue.

Just talked to my manager and we decided I should take tomorrow off to rest my wrist. We have a haircut sale starting on Saturday so hopefully, I will be better by then.

Also, today is the 3 year anniversary of my dad's passing. I am still dealing with good/bad feelings and memories with him but, in retrospect, am gaining a better understanding of him and forgiving him for some of the things he did and said, and remembering more of the good times we had and positive things he taught me. He is the one who got me to love California, and have compassion and respect for animals, He had a great sense of humor. He was a great salesman and had a lot of charisma even when he was drinking. I think down deep he felt like a failure. His house was the only thing he felt reflected a sign of success. That is why he didn't want to let go of it. I also feel that is why he got hooked into the lottery scams. He could finally be a millionaire (ie; successful) before he died. Very sad.

Anyways, I am off to bed since I have to get up early for my appointment.
