Hello on Tuesday

Getting in just under the wire here as morning will be afternoon in 4 minutes noticed my posting times are off by an hour. Still n daylight time Few more weeks and it will be right again Nobody starting coffee this morning I see. I’ve been busy too. Was waiting on furnace service tech to come today for annual furnace tuneup and check over and install a new thermostat as well. They automatically do it once a year and since this furnace was installed around this time last year, it’s time. So he’s busy in the basement giving it a go over. So while I was waiting, decided to do my yearly clean out of my files, weed out the old stuff and shred it. Now that’s done for another year. When he leaves I will have a bite of lunch and may or may not head to town. Want to get some paint, so I can paint my mechanical room walls. And also need a can of foam insulation to finish an area I was spraying yesterday and ran out. Or I might just wait till tomorrow to do it. I know the fur kids will be wanting that walk this afternoon.

Morning, Sue. I'm going out to fill my propane tank, fill fresh water and dump shortly. I could do all tomorrow when leaving BUT winds are looking to pick up tomorrow so I don't want to add those extras cuz I know I'll still not be up bright and early. I'm not going a long distance, but still want to beat the heavier wind gusts while driving the rv.

Today is Kerry's birthday and so Sheila, Kerry and I are going out to dinner. We'll be trying a Chinese restaurant none of us has been to. Hope it's good!

Just got done with golf. Started off cool but the sun is already getting hot here. The league had a luncheon planned in February at a very expensive restaurant at an exclusive golf resort and I decided not to go because of the cost. Then they cut back the menu choices to only 3 so most everyone else backed out. Now they decided to move it to another more affordable restaurant so most of us are signing up for that one. Not everyone can afford a $25 lunch.

Got a call to start work a bit early today so will go in at 1 instead of 2 today.

I was talking with my neighbor lady across the street yesterday. She has a stray cat she has been taking care of for several years and the cat comes in to her house every night. She said she hasn't seen it now for a week. That is about the time Lily got out and disappeared. I haven't seen the orange tabby for awhile and, last night, I left out some canned food and it went untouched. I am worried there might be coyotes coming in at night now or someone here is doing something with/to them. . If I see Lily again, I am just gonna keep her inside and Lola will just have to deal with her.

Just picked my first two cherry tomatoes from one of my plants! Very tasty!

Haven't heard back from the golf cart guy yet...

I called first thing this morning and got an appointment to get my hair cut. It was really getting wild. I have been having a slow leak in one of the car tires and have been riding around with the air pump. The tire sensor came on this morning when I started for town so got the tire looked at. It was just the valve leaking. Good thing, those are new tires.

I had to go sign some papers. I'll be so glad when they get this estate business finished. This is ridiculous that it's taking so long.

Last night the mouse and key board wouldn't work. I restarted the computer several times and no luck. Changed the batteries in the mouse and key board. Restarted the computer again and still nothing. I unplugged and replugged everything and finally it just started working. Grrrrrrrrr I need to find someone to look at the computer. After it has been on a while I can't type anything unless I restart it.

We have more rain coming through but hopefully not a lot. It was very windy coming back from town.

Barbie, is there an animal control where you live? Maybe check and see if they picked up the cats. Most of these places have a facebook page where they post pictures or a website.

Sugar gave Annie a smooch this morning and Annie said she didn't want any dog kisses. lol

I drove down to Shark Valley in the Everglades this morning. Made it there by 9:00 am, just as they were opening. The problem is that they have limited parking for cars and really limited parking for RVs, so I wanted to get one of the spaces. The other option is to park along the highway and walk a long way, which i just cannot do. I took my time getting organized because it was foggy when I started. Got sunny around noon.

Love that place because it you go around the 16 mile loop clockwise, you will have the whole east loop almost to yourself, or at least until the tram comes along! But there is only one tram per hour. Anyway, other than a tiny bit of distant road noise, you really feel like you are in the middle of the "river of grass." Not too much water because winter is the dry season, but there were enough birds and alligators to make it worth while. I will work on updating my blog this evening, so wait until tomorrow to check. Got to identify a few birds.

Even though my bike is electric, it is still very tiring to ride that distance. And my back was killing me, but no benches or any place but the ground to sit on, so I was really exhausted and in a lot of pain by the time I finished- over three hours later. SO, of course, I went to the visitor center and complained. I also told her it was unacceptable that at the far end, where the tower was, there were no benches or even picnic tables and the school group was having to sit on the ground. Florida is NOT a good place to sit on the ground because of ants and other nasties!!

Very nice ride, in spite of my back being in spasm much of the time, but I took something for it and had dinner and feel much better now.

Oh, and big celebration tonight--I have taken the last of my CLL medications tonight, so I am done, done, done!! (They are big pills and I have had to take four at once every night for a year.) Got to drive into Marco Island for a blood draw tomorrow and have a bone marrow biopsy and last cat scan in April! And now I can eat grapefruit, so it is going on my shopping list for tomorrow.

Oh, Judy, I really appreciate the places with benches occasionally. And with that length, they should have picnic tables, too. Sounds like there is a perfect location. Maybe your gripe /suggestion will reach someone with sense.

I'm very glad I didn't wait to do the propane and dumping until tomorrow. Both places were busy, and I waited the longest ever to dump today. At least there was no wait for water and the line to dump appeared longer to me when I left. My car is hooked up so I only need to do the final moves (put it in neutral, push battery disconnect then turn on the remote from the rig and make sure the brakes are engaged. Oh and always check that the lights are working). You'd think the part I did today is difficult LOL Maybe 5 minutes start to finish. But mornings are chilly and I'm a wimp then.

Evie is worried that my moving her Pleasureway to the sales room, people might miss it. So here's a reminder for anyone interested. I've suggested she probably needs to put a price on it and I recommended adding pictures. I know she takes great care, so I'm thinking it's a great deal for someone.

The other thing I complained about to the rangers was that there was no sign warning people that the trail to the overlook tower was 7 miles long!! (The whole loop was 15 miles.) I met a couple of older couples and one older woman whose husband was waiting for her in their car because they did not want to leave the dog alone. They had all walked about half a mile down this paved tram road/bike trail and wanted to know how much further the tower was!! I had to tell them it was another 6 miles! The only way to get there was take the tram, ride a bike, or walk, and while I did see some younger people walking it, an almost seven-mile stroll was not what they had planned on!!

There was a map but it did not give distances. I told the rangers that they needed to put the distance and add a Disney-type sign that warned people who had heart conditions, pregnant, etc that it was a strenuous walk, especially on hot days. They had just assumed people knew how long a walk it was!! Oh, and they planned to add benches in two years!!! I cannot reform the world, but as I get older, I am getting grumpier and doing a lot more complaining!!

Judy, hopefully the squeaky wheel gets the grease at that place! I sure wouldn't want to walk 7 miles each way to see anything! And benches are always a good thing!

I would think it would be a good idea for a boy scout doing his eagle to do..
