Friday’s Here!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday’s Here!

Postby Colliemom » Fri Jan 24, 2020 7:55 am

Good Morning on this, at the moment, dark Friday morning. Haven’t stuck my head out to see what is dingg out there, but radar is showing light snow. Gonna be what’s gonna be. Once it’s light, I will go out in awhile and blow out what little is in drive. County plowed the road yesterday and I want to get that mess out of end of my drive and neighbors. Don’t want to drive over it as than eventually a hump forms.

I advertised some dinette cushions I had from my last trailer and have been wrapped up and stored in basement since I sold that trailer 4 years ago. Decided to throw them and a bed sized piece of 4 inch thick foam, out on FB Marketplace. Didn’t take long to sell. Within half hour, a lady who is remodeling a trailer bought everything. Having her husband pick them up today. So couple of more things out of the basement. Once he comes later this morning, I will head for town. Need to exchange a roll of insulation and pick up a few things as well, while I’m at Lowe’s. So those are today’s projects. Decided my next project is going to be the basement which will take awhile as want to give it a good cleaning, little reorganizing and repaint the floor. Then that area of the house will be all freshened up. Thought of putting peel and stick tiles on the floor, but that’s a bit expensive in the long run. And if not done right, they can pop off.

Hard to believe the Q gathering is beginning to break up. But as every GTG goes, they go by too fast after months or weeks of anticipation. Barbie, glad you had a good time and everything went well with your trailer. Karen, your diet sounds like mine, slow but steady. I’m am a bit more liberal in my eating schedule though. I eat when I get up in the morning, have my lunch around noon and then supper around 5, and no more after that. I know the experts say we shouldn’t eat or drink caffeinated beverages, any later than 4 hours before we go to bed to give our body and brain time to get into a sleep mode so to speak and it is true. Onward and downward we go

So, I’m goin to mosey along here. You gals left at Q, have a good time. Hope everybody else has a nice day wherever you are.

Good rainy morning here but we need it so I am not complaining.......yet. I do need a few sun days tho in between to keep my head straight. Yesterday wasnt sunny but Emma and I did go for our walk and it was very pleasant. Wohoo weigh in day tomorrow. Surviving my intermittent fasting very well. They say after 12 hours your glycogen stores are used up and then the body starts converting the fat stores. I feel like my love handles are shrinking, might just be wishful thinking but I think it is good. I havent had trouble with only eating in my 8 hour window. 8-12-4 I am not even hungry in the evening. We shall see the truth tomorrow ha ha

Game day at my house today. Good I need some people interaction ha ha Then pizza and salad party tomorrow evening at the clubhouse. Will have to adjust my eating times slightly. Wont hurt anything for one night.

Glad everyone had such a good time at Q. And the weather cooperated that is surely a plus.

Cloudy day here, but no rain is expected. Going to be 80 again, so I am going to get moving and head out to the dump station and then fill with water. While I am packed up, I am going back to the visitor station to put some things in the mailbox before the mailman comes, as I did not want to leave it overnight last night.

Then I will drive down a few more miles to the Kirby Storter rest area, which has a nice boardwalk into the where wading birds hang out. They had a wet fall so there should be water in the area and birds. The boat "motel" room reminded me that several years ago when I was here at Midway, there was a cute little boat on a trailer that people were camping in. It looked like a miniature tugboat--really cute but only about 25 feet long.

I started a blog post with some photos of this campground, but need to add more of the visitor center boardwalk.

Slept pretty good last night but had some odd dreams. Still laying in bed. Have a headache this morning. Just took some Advil so hoping that will kick in soon. Need to start getting ready for work soon.

Lola is really bugging me this morning, meowing to go outside. She got a taste of "outside" last week when she got out and I chased her around the house several times. Now she wants to go back out there. I told her there are bad things out there for kitties but she doesn't want to hear it.

I left food out last night in case Lily came back. Saw a cat out there before I went to bed but it was a Siamese cat. He ran off when he saw me looking at him out the window. Food is gone this morning so not sure if that cat came back and ate it all or if Lily came during the night. I hope she is OK.

I need to get some things posted on local sites to sell here too. Need to get stuff together for my taxes as well. Another complicated year with the two houses, two jobs, and my dad's house credit I still get, so will have H&R Block do it again.

I think there is a haircut sale next week so will be working a lot for that. I hope things have settled down at work this past week! I don't like drama!

Have a good day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie, did I miss something? Did Lily leave her new home?

It's been a productive week, I got the motorhome serviced and two new tires. Two tires for the motorhome cost as much as 4 tires for the honda. By summer I hope to have the back tires replaced. The plumbing problem wasn't too bad. The wires holding up the pipe under the house rusted through and broke. I had some heavy duty zip ties that the plumber could use. At least they won't rust through.

My hair was aggravating me this morning and tried to get an appointment for a hair cut. The lady that cuts my hair is at the livestock show with her son. Guess I'll have to stand it until next week.

It's not as warm as yesterday but at least the sun is out.

No plans for the weekend. It looks like they are letting the lake fill back up so my sister and I will be able to go again before too long. If the temperature is warm. I am about done with camping in the cold.

JudyJB, I was wondering the same thing about Lily. Barbie, I thought Lily had a new home over a week or more before you left for Q.

Barbie probably thinks she told everyone. Those of us in Q learned that Lily got outside at her new home and didn't return. :(

Absolutely gorgeous day here in Q today. And it looks like my remaining days here should all be nice.

It is still raining here but I'm very happy it isn't ice or snow. Cold, drizzling rain and clouds make me want to just curl up and read. There is flooding already in so many places, I hate to think what the spring rains will bring.
Karen I'm glad your diet is working. I am struggling with my weight but in a different direction! I gain a few pounds and then it seems to just disappear. Since the last time I weighed was one of my lowest my resolve is to gain two pounds in two weeks without eating too many sweets. We should have a contest, I'll try to gain as much as you loose and we can encourage each other.
Emma was at a show this weekend and has two more 'legs' toward her CDX in obedience. At the end of one of her performances when she did especially well she gave a little squeal at the end! The judge may have taken a point off but everyone who was watching loved it!

BJ, I wish I had to worry about gaining 2 pounds! LOL! Like Karen, I have been on a low carb diet for 5 years and really have to watch what I eat to maintain my weight.

We had a good weather day in Ocala and saw the sun most of the day. An unexpected shower cooled things off before the sun went down. The heat has already kicked on, but it is still January. The weather at our home in MD is checked often to remind myself how lucky we are to be here.

Day after tomorrow we will leave to dog sit in Daytona.

I have never had a problem gaining weight. The only way I have ever been able to lose weight is to write everything I eat down and only eat 1,000 calories a day. That's hard to stick to for very long.

Sorry to hear about Lily getting out. Once a cat is use to going outside it's hard to stop them.

Yes, sorry, I forgot I hadn't mentioned it here before about Lily since I couldn't post on here all week. I don't know how she got out of the house but the lady hasn't seen her since, even leaving food out for her. The lady had told me earlier that Lily didn't seem the least bit interested in going outside, so not sure what happened.

The squeaking noise coming from one of my wheels is louder now (too much off-roading in the desert! ). My mechanic told me last week I could wait til I got back from Q to get it checked out. I work tomorrow so will have to wait until Monday morning now. Also need to contact my golf cart guy on Monday to get my charging issue looked at again.

For many years, I was underweight and struggled to gain weight. I have always had a high metabolism. My bad eating habits are catching up with me now and I am about 15 pounds over where I would like to be. A little less junk food and a little more exercise would probably help.

Was very tired today so will get to bed early tonight since I start work in the morning.
