Wintery Weather Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wintery Weather Saturday

Postby Colliemom » Sat Jan 18, 2020 8:40 am

Good Morning. Blustery, snowy morning out there as Jacob comes through and then will be followed by lake effect into tomorrow afternoon. Good day to just stay in, although I’m sure Molly will bug me for a walk, since we didn’t get one yesterday.

My friend did come up and we did go to the RV show yesterday as well as out to lunch and a quick trip to Meijer. Also popped into to the Chocolate Haus where she bought a pound Of chocolate and couple bags of Carmel corn. All hand made here in town. I was good, sticking to my diet plan, and didn’t buy anything :)

We didn’t see anything interesting at the show for most part. All large trailers in the 25-40 foot range, few small ones. But I don’t like the black, gray and stainless steel interiors that are out know. Miss the warmth of brown woods like oak. And with all the LED lighting, it’s really bright and a bit stark I think. But the overall floor plans in some were pretty neat. Not lookin pg for a new one anyway, just out having fun. But I bet there won’t be very many people at the show today with tbe weather advisories out.

Tina, was surprised, but as Beth said , not too surprised at your decision. I too am thinking the same way. Getting a bit tired of hauling a trailer around and have thought the van thing for awhile too. I think as we get older, we want to simplify more, but still want the freedom to go when and where we want. Will keep mine this year, but do more thinking too. Best of luck to you.

Judy, sent you a PM. Both of yours did come through. Barbie, sounds like you made out like a bandit at the sale. Katherine, I too hope they approve your request. I can just imagine you are Looking forward to another grand. Lyn, sorry you can’t take the class yet, hope it works out in the end.

Today’s projects are going to be running the vac and picking up the house a bit, then staining the new window frame. Still debating on bedroom paint color. So I guess I will be a bit lazy here for a short bit and then get doing. Have a great day everyone.

Good morning Sue and all who follow!

Sue, you have a lot more willpower than I would ever have! I could never go into a chocolate shop and come out empty handed! I also agree that I do not like the grey, black and white colors of the new RV's. I like the warmer colors. Some are so dark inside with too much black! Would be depressing! I love the rich red wood in mine!

Just getting up for the day. Another busy day ahead! Just have the bathroom left to clean up and then start packing. Then bring most of it to the trailer and get it put away. Gotta get gas for the car and propane for the trailer. Then make some of my meals for the week so I don't have to cook so much once I get there.

Need to call the park in Q to find out what time I can check in. Don't want to get there early and not be able to unhook right away.

There is a big PGA golf tournament in town here this weekend. I will have that on TV later.

Have a good day! :D

Hello, Marie from Montana. Today my hubby and I are going to our local veterans cemetery to remove the wreaths that were placed there on December 14th. It was a blustery winter day when we helped in December. Today is much more mild. If your local veterans cemetery participates in Wreaths Across America then wreaths would have been put on graves or in our case the wreaths are placed on stands. This weekend is when our local cemetery decided to remove them. I’m not sure what other cemeteries do. Maybe it is the same weekend. Our local POW/MIA group promoted the Wreaths Across America so we found out about it from Facebook and the local paper.

Good Morning, yea Marie for you a dyour hubby! I really like the Wreaths Across America.
My cardiologist OKed my taking the pulmonary rehab classes! I begin the first one this coming Tuesday. Looking forward to it. The only exercise I get now is the pool jogging, and, I don’t do that when there is a cold wind blowing.
I haven’t sold my trailer yet. It is getting interest where it is parked. Knocked down the price a little this week.
Understand where U Tina are coming from. I lasted until I was 88. ( maybe, in the back of my mind, I might rent a trailer up at Rock Creek this summer)
Going to see if I can get up to Balboa Park on my scooter today.
Enjoy reading where you are going in the UP, Judy. I sure enjoyed my time there last spring. (Even in the cold!)
Beth, about the road repairs in Q, you know my dislikes of politicians! Stupid.

It's another foggy, hazy day. It's still in the 70's but there is rain coming later and the temperature will drop.

Marie, I have a friend in Texas that is involved in the Wreaths Across America and she posted that they are picking them up today. I only heard about it last year and thought about asking for one for my son. Maybe this year I'll find out who to contact.

I could make it out of the candy store without the chocolate or carmel corn. I was eating a few pieces of Christmas candy thinking I could get away with it and woke up with a migraine. I hadn't had one in a long time. Ever so often I think I can get away with eating chocolate but it's just not worth it.

I don't know how the rv manufactures decide on colors but it seems like they will all have the same colors at the same time. Mine was in the brown faze. My favorite color is blue and that went out about 20 years ago.

Don't know what I'll do today, probably nothing. I need to pick up things and put Roomba to work. I see a few cat hair dust bunnies.

Afternoon ladies~~~
Lyn glad to read you're approved for the classes. Hope they bring some relief. I do have a question on your scooter. Do you know how many hours/miles the battery should hold? I keep thinking you're hoping to get stuck some place.

Sorry, not with you on the camper colors Sue. I wish mine had the lighter colors like grey. I'd even go tan. The dark brown makes it dark inside and it sure would brighten up things a bit.

Made it down by my dad's in West Palm Beach, FL for 9 days. Bonus! Will see my stepmoms nephew who I haven't seen in aloooong time. Double bonus! Found out one of the ladies who retired from work about 15 years ago is only 7 miles away, so will be seeing her for dinner tonight.

Nice to meet you Marie. They do the wreaths at Lincoln National where my stepmother is buried. Friends from high school helps put them on and she got get kids involved too. Beautiful tradition but still makes me sad seeing those graves.

That's it from me. Cold spell expected in south Florida this week. They're talking low 60s. Cold? NOT!

Have a great day everyone.

Another busy day. Finished cleaning house, loaded up the trailer, got gas for the Jeep and propane for the trailer. I was hearing a squeaking noise from one of my wheels so stopped to get that checked out. They did some small adjustment of a panel near the back brake but said if that is not it, it still isn't anything serious and I can still go on my trip and deal with it when I get home. They didn't charge me for the work since I am "such a loyal customer". The noise was better when I left but I could still hear it some. Glad to know it isn't anything to worry about for now.

Then when I got home tonight, I realized I had left my porch door open. Then I saw Lola coming around the house from the back yard! She must have been in the porch when I left. So I ended up chasing her round and round the house for about 10 minutes! What a little brat! I finally got her to go up on the deck and back into the porch. I didn't need that stress!

Been busy making tuna salad and sloppy joes to take with tomorrow. I accidentally put dill weed in the tuna salad instead of celery salt. Hope it still tastes OK. I am just really tired so am not thinking clearly tonight. Need to take a shower and get to bed early.

Will take about 2 hours to get to Q and then I lose an hour with the time change. Check-in is noon so will try to be on the road by 9am but probably will be closer to 10. So will most likely arrive around 1pm and get set up.

Sheila, can you PM me your phone number?

Some nasty winter storms wreaking havoc across the midwest heading to the east coast! I sure don't miss that!

I have your number now.

I caught myself right after starting to add the dill so there wasn't much in there. Never tasted it at all. I finally got to eating my sloppy joes once I got back home tho! They were really good too!
