Good morning Everybody from sunny Florida. Thank you Beth for posting the photo I took yesterday of our mini gtg. I met JudyB for the first time and Irmi and Steve joined us. Just about anywhere you travel there will be a Forum member who wants to go to lunch :) Enjoy today. Peggy

It was a great lunch! Very interesting little buffet restaurant in the middle of a farmer's market (also farm animal auction area with a very loud cow!). Restaurant was really packed for a Tuesday noon, but obviously people came for inexpensive, very good buffet lunch. Also, nice to meet Peggy, Irmi, and Steve!

I am facing the ocean at Gamble Rogers State Park. I have one of the very-hard-to-get larger spots which have a clear view on the ocean--practically parked on the beach. Been here before and am looking forward to two relaxing weeks here. Got a lot of little things I want to get done and one larger one, but will be mostly relaxing.

Good Morning and you're welcome Peggy. I'm glad you're enjoying Florida this winter.

My jaw is sore this morning. Sheila has invited me to tag along with her to Parker today. But I think I'll decline. I can be cantankerous all by my lonesome. She mentioned maybe changing going till tomorrow. If she does I'll tag along and be happy lol Either way, Ty needs a walking. Later folks.

You snuck in Judy. Sounds like you're in the perfect spot.

Good Morning, Judy, lucky you!! Your spot sounds heavenly. So glad you got to meet up with new to you folks. (does that make sense?)
Last time I went to Algodones I had to stand in line for two hours to get back across the border. Beth, do you drive or walk over?
Tijuana is now the murder capital of all Mexico!!! Ganges in the streets firing on one another. Also, Fentinyl, doing lots of damage down there. Why, oh why, do kids get started on those drugs?!?!?! Is that an unanswerable question?
I guess my grandson headed those warnings on vaping as he now is chewing Nicolette gum!
Cody and Owen are doing well. Have to find out when they will be home so I may go and meet them!
I hate, hate, hate the dentist and will only go when desperate.
There is something wrong with the electricity on my scooter. There is a frantic call into the place where I bought it. It died on the street this morning, then after I turned it off, then on, I could go a short distance. On and off for a block and a half! Finally got home safely. This stress makes Me SOB!

Lyn, I walk. The line was long but it was later than I usually return. That said it went quickly. The people near me in line said they usually drive but it took them close to 2 hours to drive back into the U.S. last time. Tijuana is a place I've avoided for years.

I haven't heard from Sheila yet. Tylenol has my jaw livable. But I'd want to be back by 4 or so, so probably will still stay home this time. I think my chair and book are calling me to relax outside.

As much as I love Mexico I will never go to Tijuana again. When I lived down there many moons ago we used to go often. Mosey down to Rosarita Beach, it was beautiful but Tijuana is very scary now. A friend and I went there about 15 years ago and we made sure we left before it was late afternoon. I like Algodones tho. You park and walk across and you are downtown Algodones. In Tijuana you have to take a Taxi into town.....not doing that now or ever.
I used to go early to Algodones, shop a bit, have lunch early and come back shortly after noon, never much of a line but if you are later can be a long wait.

Went to the grocery store and was super proud of myself as I remembered my bags since our state has banned plastic bags. I love the bags I bought. 11 of them squeeze into this pouch that also clips on your basket. They are like parachute material, super strong. Not real cheap but will last longer than my previous ones did.
This is the link to the ones I bought. I got the cayenne red ones.

Time for lunch then a walk for the dog

It was so much fun meeting up with Judy and Peggy yesterday. This is the 2nd time I've met with Peggy in the last few weeks after not seeing her for quite a few years. I think the last time we saw Judy was the gtg at Hillsborough State Park a few years ago. And we saw Beth this summer as she took us through Custer State Park on our big trip. While we were there, we also met Linda in the store Beth manages.

This campground is having a Poker Run this Saturday and Steve & I are one of the stops along the way for folks to pick a card. I've been making cookies and will also have meatballs in the crockpot and Steve is going to make a banana rum cake. Just simple appetizers for the trip for them through the campground.

Sheila, you're so funny. Now I have to find your posts somewhere in the middle of the day instead of what I called the grand finale. LOL!

Hope it warms up soon. I'm tired of dressing in jeans and pull over sweater.

Whew! I got a call from my manager last night that she wanted me to work at the other shop today because they were short-handed due to several of the stylists being sick. I had to quick drive over to my regular shop last night to pick up all my equipment. Went in this morning and ended up doing 19 haircuts! It was non-stop from 8 to 3. I had some interesting customers so that made it more fun but I am totally exhausted!! I fell asleep on the couch when I got home and slept for 3 hours! Still really tired so will be going to bed early. I sure couldn't work like that every day. I did make almost $90 in tips tho.

Kept Lily in the porch last night. She did OK but was anxious to go out this morning. Will see if she shows up tonight. Before I let her out, I saw a Siamese cat come up on the deck. Never seen him before. Haven't seen the orange kitty for awhile. I guess I am becoming the little old cat lady!

Those of you crossing the border to Mexico, do you need a passport for that? If so, do you have a regular passport or the passport card? I am thinking of getting the card since it is cheaper.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie, you need one of the two to reenter the U.S. I have a passport but the card works. Too bad you don't have one... Could have taken a fun jaunt down while you were here. Next time, maybe.

I have only the passport card. Works for me as I am not planning on any overseas travel.
Got a new battery put into the scooter yesterday. We will see how that works. Lyn
