Tuesday’s here!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday’s here!

Postby Colliemom » Tue Jan 07, 2020 12:09 pm

Just getting in under the wire for what’s called Morning here in the east, course by the time I hit post, will be afternoon  . Had appt. this morning, ran couple errands and just got home. Got to ship a set of snowshoes and walking Poles to a buyer so was on a box search.

Clipper coming through, setting off some light snow. Molly’s bugging me for our daily walk which seems to be getting earlier everyday. I know they get bored being in.

Catherine, congrats on conquering the mountain :) I did that too when I was out west staying on the ID side of the Grand Tetons. Worked up the courage to drive over Teton Pass rather than go around, to visit the park. Just with my truck though. That’s quite the drive with it’s curves and 15% grades. Definitely not for RV’s or even the faint of heart who don’t want to deal with it. Sheila I’m sure could attest to that.

Otherwise nothing new here. Will go do the walk and then it’s scrapbook time. Y’all have a nice day!

Yea Catherine! I knew you could do it!!! A big break through for you! My son lives in Sugarloaf. Right next door to Big Bear. I do not visit him when there is snow on the ground. Lyn

Carolyn and I had lunch with Cheryl yesterday. It was good to see her again. I wanted some things from Sam's but after I had been in Lafayette a while I didn't want to stop. Now I'm trying to decide whether to go today or stop on my way tomorrow. I was going to leave before noon but there was problems with the 4-wheeler that someone wanted to use.

We are having another sunny day but only 64 today. I hope they are wrong about the rain for Friday and Saturday.

Got up and played golf this morning. Such a beautiful morning!

I called the Andersen Hitch company and told them what was going on with my sway hitch. He told me to remove one of the links on the chains to make them shorter and then the bolts would be the right length. I stopped to ask my mechanic if he knows where I could get the chains cut (I brought the chains with me). He had one of his guys cut them off for me and didn't even charge me! So now it should be all good to go!

Been taking things from my porch to my storage unit. Just rented a very small one. Figured I can bring a few things back at a time and go thru it, put it away, give it away or toss it. Was just too overwhelming with it all piled up like it has been. I have already found things I didn't know where they were. One more trip to the storage unit and then clean the porch. Very dusty in there! We have another yard sale in two weeks. If I have anything I want to sell, I will bring it to my friends place and put it in her sale. I will be getting ready for Q so won't have time to do another sale myself.

Better get back to work before it gets dark.

I had a strange thing happen last night. I was sleeping and had one leg hanging off the side of the bed. All of a sudden I felt something bite or scratch my shin on that leg. I pulled up my leg quickly and turned on the light. Didn't see anything on the floor (critter) and there was no mark on my leg. So I must have been dreaming but it seemed SO real and it really hurt when I felt it "happen"! Lola was sleeping on the other side of the bed the whole time. So strange!

Two hours in the dentist's chair today. Yuck. I really, really like my dentist in Progresso but it made no sense to make a trip to Texas. That said, they recommended a root canal and crown for the one tooth but said they could try doing a filling but no guarantee on that. I went with the filling and will see. I'd much rather go to the dentist I trust if I do the other. I did have another ancient filling replaced and two tiny cavities filled. I can't remember the last time I had a cavity. 20 years? Maybe 30?

I made a quick stop at Sam's Club in Yuma for gas...I think 35 cents cheaper than here. Unfortunately the rv had to pay the higher price. But if all goes well neither vehicle will need gas again until I go down to the Yuma area for a week or so next month.

Tina, I loved your blog post. I'm glad you got away, at least briefly. Now fill up your bank account! I need to be very frugal the rest of this winter. Buying for the casita added up. And I started out with getting the new-to-me car in the fall. So, the money will be very welcome when I go back to work in mid-April.

Sue , I think you should make another trip to the Black Hills. :)

I got home to a very happy dog. Ty has gotten used to having me most days all day. The sun came down shortly after I got back. Twas a beautiful sunset. No pics tonight.

Barbie, you beat me with your post... How strange and realistic dreams can be. But I'm glad you didn't have a real bite.

in summer will see lots of RV's going up or down Teton Pass and have to wonder if they really knew what they are doing... it's curvy and steep and there is that side with no barriers... it's also the pass my parents were on when they had an accident lost my dad and my sister although it was on a fairly level area... still not a pass I feel totally comfortable on even after having grown up in the area... it's one of the major roads into or out of Jackson Wy. my advice no RV's larger than a 24 footer if that but then you all know I'm a major woose.. take the canyon much easier on a larger rig
