The Monday After Chaos

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

The Monday After Chaos

Postby JudyJB » Mon Dec 30, 2019 1:12 pm

Am at my younger son's house and he is driving my older son and two kids to Detroit to catch their plane back to California. (They were supposed to stay with their dad, but he got sick.) So I just tossed the rest of the bedding and even the bathroom rugs from the downstairs bathroom into the washer to get rid of any residual bugs from the late night hair nitpicking. Going also to vacuum the floor before I put anything back down.

Daughter-in-law has taken her two girls to Picky Pam's to get combed and rechecked for lice. Sounds like fun, huh?? Other grandmother has been around kids a lot in last two weeks, so she also tested positive and will get treated!! Since this is the second check and combing, I hope I make it through without catching these also. Older grandson and younger son were clear--I suspect part of the culprit is all three girls very long and thick hair, as well as mother's hair also being long and thick. A nice pixie cut for all would be a lot easier!!

And house cleaner comes tomorrow to clean up rest of mess three adults and five kids can make--and that was before i got here!!

Hello Judy & everyone!

Judy, I was itching just reading your post. When you posted that you were at BWI yesterday, I'm guessing that was the Baltimore Washington International airport, which is the closest, largest airport to our home in MD.

We had a quiet Christmas and tomorrow will also be a quiet New Year's Eve for us. We choose to stay in the campground and leave the roads for the others. The campground is starting to fill, now that Thanksgiving and Christmas are behind us.

The weather lately has been warm but we've had our share of showers the last few days. Tonight the temperatures will dive and we'll turn the heat on before going to bed. Around Thursday we should be back in the 70's. Speaking of showers, they're back.

Our big storm stayed out at sea and heading to Baja so not much rain gonna happen here. Just cloudy, cool and breezy today. Will start warming up tomorrow.

Was busy at work today so I was glad it was a short day for me. Just running errands and stopped for lunch before heading home.

Got a headache again today and sore teeth
from grinding. Should get the mouth guard today and get that moulded tonight. Am so glad Xmas is over. I need a vacation!

Friday will be another stressful day with taking the trailer to get the sway hitch installed. The weather is supposed to be good with minimal winds but there is a stretch through the valley that gets very windy so hoping that won't be too bad either. I think I am just skittish because of what happened when I first towed it home.

Barbie take seriously the warning on the mouth guard not to exceed the number of seconds. I nearly ruined my last one by getting distracted in my 7 sec count! Hope it helps.
Sunny and cool here. Got to store, now in an hour will take son to Jim Boys to use his christs,s gift card for his favorite enchilada dinner as take out, then I'll eat left over prime rib. Not going anywhere else until next year!
My handyman is sick, so all projects on hold at moment.
Eyes improving, left almost caught up to right, which was 2 1/2 weeks sooner. One eye drop done, another finished end of week then only one drop a day for another 2 weeks. Who knew it would be harder to hit the target once no more close up vision available for aiming!

Judy, between the weather and the bug problem I think I would have opted to stay in Florida. Hope you make it with no problems.

Barbie, if you have a carrier I would bring the white cat to a vet to see if she has a chip. I can't believe someone is not missing her. I have been having all the cats I bring to the spay and neuter clinic chipped. I don't think any of my neighbors would have one of my cats picked up but there are trucks and trailers coming and going here. Years ago one of the barn cats went home in a horse trailer. She had a collar with an ID and someone called me. I seldom put a collar on a cat now.

I needed to go to the bank before the 1st so went to town. I needed to return something so decided to go to Lafayette and get that over with. The traffic is still bad.

We missed the big rain we were suppose to get yesterday. It rained hard for about 5 minutes and that was it. It has cooled off so it's in the 60's instead of close to 80.

I have a campout with the Texas and Louisiana chapters of RVW on the 8th in Lafayette. Nice to be so close to home. I haven't been able to make it to one of the Texas campout in a few years.

According to people here in the park, the white cat was left behind by a previous owner. It would be a good idea to have her checked tho, just in case. Will have to see how she would react to being put in a carrier. I think I need to build up her trust a little more. I moved her around a bit on my lap last night and she started to hiss at me. I think she was just on edge with the orange cat lurking around there.

It has been spritzing out but no actual rain. I am looking forward to sunnier and warmer temps.

Velda, I watched a Youtube video on how to make the mouth guard, since the written directions were a little confusing. Looks pretty easy. If I screw up one, I can try again with the second one  .

I need to get my eyes examined since I know my prescription has changed. Costco has been recommended to me and they say their exams are $65 but not sure if that is for members only. I quit my membership there last month since I rarely shop there and it is too far for me to go just for gas. I joined it when I lived in Vista because it was across the street from me.

I got a doctor appointment in early February for my annual physical and to ask about a few other issues, one of which is my hearing. Everything I hear is muffled and I am always asking people to repeat themselves. At work, I have to turn the volume on the radio way down because I can't hear my customers with that playing in the background. I try to keep my ears clean but it sounds like I have cotton in my ears that muffle sounds and voices.

Barbie, if you decide to go ahead with Martha’s suggestion and Lily has no chip, maybe you could use the carrier to bring her inside. That way she would be separated from Lola and they could start getting used to each other.

I have thought about making a space for her out in the porch for at night. They can get to know each other thru the slider glass or screen and she would be safe from other cats and predators at night.

Barbie, the porch would be excellent. Don't forget to give her a litter box out there.

One of my friends, Kerry, who winters in Q, wasn't sure she'd make it this year. But last night she arrived and parked behind me. The little trailer she brought last night is new to her and today we moved it right behind me, as tomorrow she'll be getting her normal rig and that'll be further behind. She'll probably have someone staying in the the one right behind me in February, but I'll be gone then. Anyway, I brought Kerry up because when I got up this morning and checked FB, she had already posted a wonderful sunrise picture with my rv in it. I had gotten a few great sunsets the previous night but this sunrise, just wow.

Judy, I'm still itching thinking about the head lice.

I went to town and did a couple loads of laundry. So that's done for a couple/few weeks.
