Sunny Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny Saturday

Postby BarbaraRose » Sat Dec 28, 2019 11:49 am

I went to bed early last night because I was falling asleep on the couch. So I woke up early this morning. Off to work in a bit.

I was invited to a card party for last night but I decided not to go. Just wasn't in the mood to socialize. Just spent the day being somewhat lazy but got bills paid and made an appointment for my annual physical for the first week of February.

I was just checking my work schedule for this week and realized I got scheduled to work on Friday, the day I am taking my trailer to Banning to get the sway system installed. Just contacted my manager and she is gonna redo the schedule. I am pretty sure I put in a request for that day off anyways.

No plans for New Years other than watching the Rose Parade. There is a big New Years Eve party at the clubhouse but I didn't sign up for that.

I have tomorrow off so I am hoping I will be a little more motivated to do something around here. Kind of been in an "Eeyore" frame of mind the past few days. Another big rain storm moving in on Monday.

Have a fun day!

It looks like the sun wants to come out. It was very foggy this morning and just now lifting. It's already 76. There is no rain on the radar but a lot in Texas. Guess we will get that tomorrow.

I need to go to town but moving slow. I think I will go to the lake on Tuesday to check on the camp. Deliver my sister and her family's Christmas presents on my way home. I don't think we will camp together until about February. If I don't bring their presents, by February I won't know where they are. I have a bag of keys that were in my old purse that had keys for the camp. I have been looking for it all over. I have one set of keys but would like to find the bag because I think there is a key for my car in it. I don't know why that bag didn't get transferred when I changed purses.

I was looking to see what was on TV and Camping World is sponsoring a football game. I guess they are looking for all the advertising they can get.

Morning, Barbie and Martha and all who follow. I'm so excited the sun is back BUT the wind is horrendous today. Ty and I walked further the last few days with the cold and clouds and rain! So I think it's another do nothing day. I did reach a friend who lives in Q and makes all kinds of crafty things. I've arranged to meet up with her next Saturday as I want to get some things from her. She's had a health set back and can't work , but has been fighting for assistance. I don't have a lot to spend but will support her as I can.

Tomorrow we should have the sun without the wind... My fingers and toes are crossed. Karen, so far you'd hate it here this winter.

I lost a filling so am planning a trip to Algodones to see a dentist. Hopefully week after next. I wish I could see my dentist in Progresso, but it's too far to go. I got a couple recommendations and hopefully find a good one here.

Chilly and cloudy here too today, only 36° here right now. Oh well it is winter. I like winter actually as ours are fairly mild, every once in a while Mother Nature loses her mind and we get hammered with rain, wind, snow or ice. Oh Beth you know I would hate that dang wind. I would rather it rained on me than blow me away. I hope you have much better weather for the GTG tho. There is time for it to behave.

I plan to just stay home on New Years Eve, too many crazies out there. Think they are having a bit of a party in the clubhouse that night to watch the ball drop at midnight but that is way past my bedtime LOL I can watch it at 9pm ha ha

Karen, I like the cold desert nights. And handled the missing sun and rain. But, like you, don't care for the wind. Oh well lol I'll suck it up.

Hi everyone!

Barbie, I believe you've had your golf cart worked on a couple times because you had a problem with the charging system. Is there a chance one of these guys that were helping you could have walked out with your keys? If that's not the case, perhaps you could take the VIN # to a dealer and have keys made. I'm sorry about the lost book from the library and even more sorry about the missing earrings, because I love all of mine. I have the little Command Strips on the inside walls of our linen closet in the motorhome to hold my earrings. I probably have 60-70 pairs of earrings to match with my outfits.

I just used the golf cart last week to go play golf, so I know the keys are around here somewhere. I have key hooks by the door that I usually put the keys on. Not sure why I didn't put them back. I did check to see if I left them in the ignition of the cart (which I do sometimes) but not there either The library book I had to replace but luckily, it only cost about $8. The earrings were fairly new so I am bummed out about losing those. I can't remember where I bought them to get a replacement. :( Still haven't found the cord to plug my camera into my laptop but did buy a SD card reader I can use.

There are traffic jams with people heading up to the mountains to play in the snow. Lots of snow for that! The storm heading here on Monday will come with more cold temps and dump snow down to 2500 feet. The XMas storm was down to 4000 ft, so the snow line will be considerably lower this time. Temps tonight will be down to 37 and tomorrow will only get to 58. :o Normal highs are in the low 70's.

I did put in a request for taking Friday off and it was approved but I guess the owner changed the schedule after she had me off for that day. She said she will change it and I will get it off. She is very good about approving requests and working on fixing schedules.

I will be getting a $1 per hour raise on January 2nd, due to a CA law to raise the minimum wage each year until we get to $15 per hour. Every little bit helps.
