Santa is on his way! It's Christmas Eve!

Got friends from high schooling coming today. They are staying with relatives down here but live in far Northwest and drove the whole distance. Told them they needed a small motorhome to make it more doable! Got to take out trash, dump tanks, fill tank with fresh water, and get stuff ready because they will be here in an hour.

One of the two pairs of shoes I got my uncle fit him and I figured out my aunt's shoe size, so went out after trying on shoes to get them each another pair that will fit better. Then had to drive 30 miles in opposite direction to return original shoes, but this is much easier than taking two frail people who use walkers out shopping in these crowds. More later.

It just sank in. I'm going with Sheila to the store on Christmas Eve. Lolol This should be interesting. I got up an hour or so ago and put my 15 amp fuse back in and on the furnace came. No it didn't shut off on its own, so pulled the fuse again. I guess this will be my new normal for awhile.

Judy, your Aunt and Uncle are so lucky to have you. Enjoy your time with old friends.

Merry Christmas Eve!

Good morning Everybody from no sunshine today Florida. Had a fun meet up with some Forum women yesterday. We remembered to take a photo and I’ve emailed the photo to Beth for posting. I still haven’t mastered posting photos from my I-phone. Hoping to meet up with JudyB somewhere, sometime before I leave in March. The Florilow Oaks Park is all decked out for Christmas and the festivities begin at 1:00 with an open house and harp music. Then games and gift exchange this evening, Christmas dinner tomorrow and left over lunch the day after. Merry Christmas to all. Peggy

Beth, good luck shopping on Christmas Eve. I hope I have everything I need. Sometime today I will bake the cornbread I need for the dressing. I have a cornbread mix with jalapeños and wondering how that would work in dressing. Probably not a good idea to experiment with Christmas dinner. I was informed that next year I have to pick a holiday and go with my son to Baton Rouge.

This morning I made a breakfast burrito and ate it on my Christmas plate. It's not often that I go to that much trouble for breakfast. I don't have room for my good china or the Christmas plates so I just brought one in to eat off of. I have some Christmas plates that I used as platters but don't know where they are stored or if they survived Rita.

Last night on the news they showed a house decorated with Christmas light that's not too far from here. The lights are all operated with a computer. I wish they had shown it earlier because tonight there will probably be a traffic jam. There use to be a house in town that had a big Christmas display. There was a Class C in the yard with Micky and Mini in the front seats. I don't think the neighbors like it because they all put saw horses in their driveways to keep people from turning around.

I wish I could have gone to the GTG in Florida.

It's a cool day. The two grocery stores we went to weren't as bad as I expected. But we had to go to the 2nd one because the major item needed wasn't available at the first. We're going to have way too much food for the two of us. We definitely won't go hungry. I think I'm taking Ty on a long walk shortly... Need to get lots of exercise.

The picture Peggy sent me has been posted to the gtg thread for that gtg.

Worked today til 3. Then brought Xmas cards to my neighbors. Had a few more cards to deliver to other people in the park so I uncovered my golf cart but then couldn't find the keys for it. I have looked all over, checked my purse, pockets, etc. but no luck. They are probably with the camera cord I still haven't found. They have to be around here somewhere. Need to find them by tomorrow.

I have been grinding my teeth really bad lately from stress and anxiety. I had TMJ when I was 19 with my jaw locking up in the mornings and clicking when I opened my mouth during the day. I spent two years getting my jaw re-aligned with fitted mouth guards. This morning my jaw really hurt and was locking up on me. I am trying to relax it as much as possible. It feels better tonight. I need to get a new mouth guard. Can't spend too much since I will be getting two new crowns soon which will make the mouth guard not fit anymore. I should probably start doing some meditation and/or yoga to reduce my stress levels.

Gotta get my flower arrangements put together tonight. I haven't made one for many years so I hope they turn out decent.

White kitty got in a fight with something under the RV next to me last night. She took off running out from under it. Haven't seen her tonight yet and the food is still in the bowl from this morning. I am sure she will show up soon.

Hope you all have a merry Christmas where ever you are! :D

I've been adopted!

I went out on the deck and noticed the food was mostly gone from the bowl and then heard a meow coming from under the chair in the corner. She started to run off the deck but I sat down and quietly talked to her and filled the bowl. She came over and started eating. I slowly petted her back and she turned around and started purring and meowing and brushing up against me. I petted and scratched her and she was loving every minute of it, not sure if she wanted the food or the loving more! I let her finish eating and sat in the chair. Pretty soon she jumped up in my lap and curled up and we sat there for over an hour together. She is very soft and has the thickest, fluffiest tail! Never seen such a big tail on a cat! She (yes, I checked) seems pretty healthy and I didn't see any sign of fleas or ear mites (which on a pure white cat would be very easy to see). I don't think she has been out on her own for very long. I am thinking of calling her Lily.

An orange tabby showed up, (probably the one she was fighting with last night), and she started growling. He finally left. It started getting really cold out so I decided to go in. I left her on the chair, filled her bowl and put another bowl of food in front of the house for the other kitty.

It was a nice way to spend Christmas Eve! :D

Barbara-this is the mouth guard I buy. I just made a new one a few days ago. Been using this type for a couple of years. Only caution. Time carefully and only have in the hot water no more than the seconds advised or it will collapse and be Hard to reform . They last quite a while before I chew through them and are fairly thick so keep me from clenching at night. I buy Fixident cleaning tabs to soak it in every week and otherwise wash it under running water and leave to dry. After trying several brands ,this clear one works best for me. And at 2 for 9.99 they can’t be beat.

Thanks Velda! I am going to order that and try it! With two of them, I can make one until I get my crowns and then make the other one.

Hope it helps a lot. Pain caused by grinding or clenching can be both damaging and painful.
