Monday - Christmas Eve Eve

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday - Christmas Eve Eve

I am off to my aunt and uncle's memory care place to try some shoes on I bought for him. I also had found three pairs of brand new SAS shoes in my aunt's closet when I was there, so want to see if those fit also. I went out yesterday and got her a nightgown at Dillards after trying Macy's at the opposite end of the huge mall, so I had to park twice!! Then when I left, I stopped at urgent care because a couple of my mosquito bites are very large, deep red, and hot, so my body is reacting to them again. They also look a little infected, so ended up getting my usual prednisone and antibiotics. Took three prednisone per directions last night and it is much less red and less painful this morning, so the prednisone is working. And if you remember from a couple of years ago when I was in Florida, these are dime and nickle-sized red spots with larger areas around them swollen--not your usual bites.

Sun finally came out. Got friends coming tomorrow, so I want to get all my errands run today so I have everything for the holiday.

I'm up, doing my eye drop routine. We had rain off and on yesterday totaling almost half inch. I will finish this then get cats and bird fed then head to Curves. After that Chris and I will go to grocery store for the few things I need. Sean, the handyman picked up the prime rib and will cook both mine and his. I bought both, and his is my gift to their family and his gift to me is cooking mine! He really knows his way around a BBQ ! After that Chris and I plan to be home for the next few days, away from the crazy crowds. Might go see nearby lights in evening.
Judy, sounds like you have a busy day, as I'm sure many do. Have safe travels and fun with whatever you do.

Got up this morning and loaded the trash in my golf cart since it looked like rain coming. Started raining just when I got back from the dumpster. Got the cart covered up and has been raining steady ever since. Am off to work. The sh*t is hitting the fan there today. One girl asked me to cover her shift and said the other girl would cover mine. But no one is covering her shift today and none of this was OK'd by the manager, so she is not very happy right now with not having a mid-shift today. I thought the girl I am covering for had it all covered but I guess not.

I am hearing that possibly the owner of the white cat moved away and left the cat here. I will keep feeding her until I know for sure. I wish she wasn't so skittish! I can make a little bed for her on my deck so she will have a place to eat and sleep.

Need to stop after work and pick up the flowers for the arrangements (forgot yesterday! ) and get them put together tonight.

The rain seems to be letting up some now. Supposed to rain off and on for the next several days tho.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie, maybe sit out there and ignore her while she eats. I bet she'll eventually come closer on her own. I agree with Anne's comments about the why.

I moved over by Sheila today. I was no help getting her troublesome new generator started. And my furnace is acting up :( My furnace has been an intermittent problem almost from the beginning. Then it quit acting up (and would never act up for repair folks). Starting this morning it's not resetting like it always has in the past. I can turn it on simply by re-inserting its 15 amp fuse and taking it out when I want it off. Crossing my fingers it resets as I need it to run when the nights are going below freezing. And to stop running. I need to be able to leave the fuse in place. And we don't want to talk about the fuse I dropped behind the panel. Luckily way back when after it first acted up is afraid I'd drop it so I bought extra fuses. More lucky was I remembered where they were!

Sheila needs to go into one of the larger towns tomorrow, so I'll tag along.

I am so excited that Steve & I were part of another gtg today! Tina, Liz, Bob, Peg, Birdie, Nan, Steve & I met for lunch in Alachua, FL! We had lots of non-stop conversation and laughs and had a great time. The skies broke loose on the way home and it took lots of time to get back, but we're retired and what else do we have to do?

Irmi is right! Lunch was great and the group was just about the perfect size to follow most of the conversations. Many folks out there in forum posting and “lurking” land must have had their ears ringing as many folks were asked about and remembered fondly. Some of us have been around a long time......and haven’t lost our long term memories yet.

it's good to look out there and see another rig that I know the person in... it's good having Beth close by.. have only a moment really cloudy so the batteries didn't get a strong charge and with no working generator I'm am in the dark even turned off the inverter...so basically just a check in as my battery in the computer will be out soon it's not a long use battery ..
did get the tree up though
