Rainy Sunday!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rainy Sunday!

Yup, it is raining here in northeastern Florida. It really got windy overnight, but the temps got higher, which is typical, I suppose. Anyway, it is more of a drizzle than a heavy rain, but I am staying in today except for a brief trip out to pick up a prescription. I have the rental car until tomorrow, so it would have been nice to drive into town to walk around, but too windy and wet!

Here in my part of northern California we have had over 4 inches of rain since December arrived! It's been so nice. I just finished my morning eye drop routine and will get dressed for the day. I had trouble getting to sleep last night, but once I did I slept until 9:30, so got my usual number of hours. Not going to church today due to the focus issues I had yesterday at a funeral there. It's improving, but takes time. I'm not very patient. Think I'll spend the day getting living room ready for tree and cutting boxes to recycle. Have a good day everyone.

Wednesday morning when I was getting ready to leave for my campout I started sneezing and my nose was running wide open. Leave it to me to get sick when I'm going somewhere. I took about 4 different kinds of medicine Wednesday and nothing slowed my nose down. Made it to the campground about 3:00 and there were 4 others there. My sister was coming on Thursday and I told her to bring some kleenex and some medicine. What she picked up finally dried up my nose. I didn't bring my pain medicine for my hip so I could drink wine so by today I was hurting. I didn't think that pain medicine was doing anything but evidently it was. I got home this afternoon about 2:00. When I was coming through Lafayette people were lining up along the street for a parade. I have no idea what kind of parade, maybe Christmas? Just glad I wasn't in it. lol

We had a great time at the campout. The campground had just changed hands and the new owners had gone all out to decorate the club house. A lot of the women in the club are crafters and I'm not. For a joke they gave me an apron that said "Craft Supervisor".

I left CC shut up with the old lady cats so I'm sure they were glad when I got home and let him out. When I went out to get the mail he was up one of the trees. He will be ready to come in about midnight.

Rainy afternoon here in the LA area. Had a nice morning & was able to get my outside lights on the patio fence.
Supposed to be working on Christmas cards today but spilt coffee on the sofa so getting that cleaned up has taken precedence.

Beth, I need to send you a huge THANK YOU! Recommending BoomerBenefits before I sign up for a Medicare supplemental or advantage plan convinced me of the way to go. I don't have to sign up right now, but at least I know who to contact before I retire. I appreciated them explaining the pros & cons of each. I can't thank you enough for the recommendation. Their client services will be beneficial too if I ever need them. Way to go!!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

As for retirement, I'm going to wait & see what my director & soon-to-be new manager put together for a part-time option. If they come up with something that I think is doable, I'll try it, but if not, I'm going to propose a retirement date in mid-March. I'm ready.

The new baby continues to be a calm, good baby. Can't believe they got 2 such easy-going little ones. I'm looking forward to having more time with him starting in Feb or March. :D

Catherine, YAY! I'm so glad you called and they were helpful. Unfortunately I didn't get told about them until I was a year into it. That said, I still contacted them and during open enrollment we changed my plan. I'm saving money, my plan is exactly the same as what I chose originally, but less expensive. And I've already used their client services, which is wonderful.

Dreary weather here today so it was a good day to meet Brenda for lunch. We gabbed forever and had great Mexican food. Two thumbs up from both of us.

Just got back from a wonderful lunch with Beth. She chose an outstanding Mexican restaurant. We talked and talked for more than 2 hours. Our waitress was very patient with us as we did a lot of talking before we even ordered.

Looking forward to Quartzsite in January where we will meet again. I am also excited about meeting more forum sisters then too.

looking forward to seeing you as well Brenda. I so totally forgot about open enrollment was going to talk to someone and see if I have better options and finally sign up for the medication part... I so do get the penalty part ... I didn't used meds 10 years ago still don't although who knows what I'd be on if I went to a dr... so didn't feel like I needed to pay for something I wasn't using now to have to pay a penalty for something I didn't use so weird... would like to sign up for supplemental but when ever I think I can afford it and plan on calling to see what it cost something happens that I have more out going for awhile than normal...
went in to church tonight to watch the Christmas Devotional from temple square... was so good as to be expected... love hearing the choir
some guys come out to see why my generator is being harder to start guess the suggestion was to buy a higher grade of gas... hate that but would like to feel better about it's starting... it starts then off might take 2-3 times to get it to start and stay started... everything else looked ok...
guess they did have the parade but most watched it from there cars
need to go have chat with family in a few minutes.

Good evening! Just watching the parade from last night, on TV tonight. Getting a little different perspective with the announcers describing everything.

Just 2 of us at work and it was crazy busy! Neither of us got a lunch let alone even a potty break for 6 hours! They always have a goal of how many customers they expect us to do for the day (based on the previous year for that day). Todays goal was 60. Seriously? With only two stylists scheduled? We each did 20 haircuts but no way could we have done 30 each! We did keep up with those coming in and many waited up to an hour. Oh well, I did make $80 in tips, so can't complain about that. Won't mention how sore my feet and back are tho!

Stopped after work at a sports bar for dinner. They have great food and I had a huge BBQ pork sandwich with cole slaw on it and tator tots. I took a good portion of it home with me for leftovers.

Back to work in the morning so need to get to bed soon. Parade is almost over. The Rudolph balloon just went by. They just said he is 40 feet high! :o It was at this point in the parade that I headed to the car so now I get to see what I missed by leaving early, (apparently just the dancing Christmas trees and Santa). There were over 80,000 people who came to see it. So glad I left a little early!!

Have a good night! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
