Exciting Tuesday!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Exciting Tuesday!

Postby MandysMom » Tue Dec 03, 2019 12:50 pm

I don't see a morning post, so here I am. Today is the day I get better vision! It's a chilly, grey day, but only showers expected. I left the hot pot on, so you can make beverage of your choice, sorry, Mel never trusted me to make coffee, not even instant, because I don't like coffee! my Minnesota son is among final 12 of 65 applicants for a Deputy job in a county near him, so keep good thoughts. I had the task already today trying to expedite his high school transcripts from his High School here. I have cats and bird fed and son given his morning pills . I've showered and dressed and have my ID, paperwork, and checkbook ready to go along with the eye drops I'm to take with me today. My ride will be here in 40 min and I'll be off on my adventure!
Have safe travels if traveling and a good day everyone.

Good luck Velda with your eye proceedure! Hope your son gets the deputy position. My nephew was a deputy in a little town in southern Minnesota and is now a police officer in Mankato.

Just got back from my putters league. It is cool and overcast this morning. The sun keeps trying to peek out but hasn't quite managed to do so yet. I volunteered to keep track of the scoring on a spreadsheet for the league. The woman who does it now can't do it after January so I will take over then. Sounds easy enough. Used to do that kind of thing a lot in my previous career.

Lots of inside things to do today. I hope the sun comes out soon since I never feel very energetic on cloudy days, even if I am doing indoor things.

Would be a good day to make chili but I don't have any ingredients for that. Will have to pick some up this week so I can make it soon since I am in the mood for it now.

Hope you all have a wonderful day! :D

Good luck, Velda! Hope your eye surgery goes well. Be prepared for an awkward week with only one eye done, but it will be over soon.

It is cold here in Fort Clinch on Amelia Island in FLorida. Only high of 55 today, though it is sunny. Still have my electric heater going, however, and am lucky to be directly across from bath house with washer and dryer right there, so today is also laundry day! Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer.

Sun still isn't out yet and probably won't be. We have another storm system coming in tonight with heavy rain expected. They say the washes out here will be filling up from the runoff coming down the mountains as the heavy rain also melts the snow on the way down. And then another big storm coming next weekend. It is all or nothing around here.

Here is a photo of the wall hanging I bought at the Pow wow on Sunday. It is about 12 inches long.

The casino lot I prefer boondocking at in Tucson now has an rv park and no boondocking. And at $36/night there weren't many there. I came down to BLM land. This was crowded in the area I usually park, so pulled over and Ty and I walked another area. I carefully selected a way I could go with a nice spot... Day dreaming and passed up the spot. Got to an area I couldn't get through. Disconnected car and moved it back. Scratched up the rig getting it turned around. I'll be needing to buff it out most likely. Stupid on my part. I had walked it for a reason!

Velda, you're probably home now taking it easy. I hope everything went well and sending good thoughts to your son.

Barbie, I really like what you bought.

Just a ho-hum day here. Inside housekeeping, dang I hate when the sun shines thru my window and all I can see is dust everywhere. Made a casserole as I love just being able to reheat a dish full and call it good. Now I am relaxing with a peppermint hot chocolate....life is good today.

Thinking good thoughts that everything works out to your liking Velda. Will be looking for a report.
Love your hanging cactus pot, very cool Barbie. Ooooh Beth been there and done that but not the scratches on the rig. Had to unhook my car a couple times in my travels. Sorry about the boo boos.

Going to scroll Netflix and see if anything excites me. I am a little tired of Hallmark movies for a while. I need something to watch with an unpredictable plot.

today was out and about had choir practice and stuck around to work on family history... heard last night that one of the guys in our church fell off a ladder was critical and in surgery this morning I got a phone call saying he had died.. so sad as people in our church go he was one of the younger ones... one never knows...he was a short guy not sure of his height but his wife is quite tall but they always had big smiles and hello's for one and all.. Even though I didn't know him well he was a good guy..and will be missed by lots
did some errands had to get a broom to sweep off the mats got propane ran out of propane that is on the buddy and even though I had a full tank not being used it was where it goes and it was dark and I just didn't feel like getting it out and around the 5th wheel over to where the hose comes out of the 5th wheel so wrapped up... but the heat tonight is feeling so good... way to cold to not have some heat.
went to a new place in town very limited in selection they have what they are calling second plate there you have a meal today it was meatloaf and you can eat till full however this was only after 3 we were there around 2 it's called Fair Foods so hot dogs corn dogs hamburger a couple of sandwich type food funnel cake and churro's both of which I would like to try.. had chicken and dumplings not sure I would do it again.. good flavor but I don't care for canned peas and thought the dumplings where dense ... one of those dishes where you think hmmm could have done better myself
then came home and got that think its 9 gals propane tank out and over to where it needed to be ugh heavy but have heat and even on the lower setting never do that
came home and took a nap need to stop doing that not getting anything done...
tomorrow there is games perhaps I will get something done in the morning

Hope every thing went well Velda. Hope your son gets the job. They seem to always be looking for deputies around here. They must not pay very well because when they get some experience they move on to somewhere else.

I got most of my loading done for the campout. It's only about 50 miles so shouldn't take me all day to get there. lol

Tonight the cattle women had their Christmas night. Everyone wanted to eat out instead of having a party so we went to a local steak house. I seldom order steak when I eat out but it was very good.

Last night when I was looking for something to watch on tv I came across Garth Brooks' Biography. Tonight is the second part of it. He was one of my favorite singers. I just can't listen to music anymore it makes me too sad.

Barbie, I like your wall hanging.

I wrote a update, clicked submit and poof, no idea where it went.
Surgery went well. Home around1, then back to his office at 2:45 for first post op check. He said eye pressure normal and IOL in perfect position. I'm not uncomfortable, just slightly irritated eye. And it looks like I got punched with scelera (white part) all blood shot. Being completely awake was amazing and a good choice. I was able to talk to Dr and he described everything he did. Once IOL was pushed around to correct orientation, I could see the pattern on the light above the Drs head! Eye still dilated tonight and some blurriness but vision at all distances is beginning to come into focus. I was in living room tonight and looked at my weather station from just over an arm length. I could read it! Tried closing that eye, and took off glasses, and looked with left eye and all I could see was that it was a lighted orange square! Left eye will be done in two weeks. Now to keep up with 3 types eye drops and let right eye heal.

Sheila, I just found out a guy who has a lot here just fell off a ladder and died on Friday. He wasn't too old either. So sad, especially just before the holidays.

Didn't get much done today. Am watching Trisha Yearwood's Christmas special tonight. Then off to bed since I have to get up early for work tomorrow. Big rainstorm is supposed to roll in around 2am and then rain on and off until Friday. Went out and covered up my golf cart.

I posted a new profile on Plenty of Fish last week. I received a lot of messages and decided to read them tonight. First one was a guy who was very offended by me saying that I am very liberal, on my profile. He said I am one of those "crazy" people. :o I hope he wasn't hoping for a response. As much as I would love to respond, I am taking the high road and just deleting his message. Can't wait to read the other 29 message... Every time I go thru these dating sites, I realize I am better off staying single!

Velda, Glad to hear your proceedure went well! There is no way I could ever be awake for something like that! You are brave!

My putters league is going out for lunch again next Tuesday but they picked another very expensive restaurant. Last one cost me $20 before the tip, for lunch! I can't do that again right now. I guess these retired ladies have a lot of cash to spend.

Barbara, no bravery needed, absolutely no pain, just focus on the pretty lights as they move and change. It really was easy and no feeling awful after from stupid drugs, which I never tolerate well because my tolerance is very low. I knew I was ok when the nurse before in pre op said open you're eye wide as I need to mark it and I didn't even feel her marker touch my eye.
