Last November Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Last November Sunday

Postby BarbaraRose » Sun Nov 24, 2019 12:27 pm

Still in bed, watching my church service live on YouTube.

Have a lot to do today around here. Laundry, bills, dishes, trash, cut up cardboard boxes, and some fun stuff with the Fairy garden and plants. Maybe hang out on the swing for awhile :D

I bought a sample of the paint for the window trim, so will paint a little of that to see if I like the shade. It is a blue/green teal. Next weekend I will be decorating the house outside for Christmas. It is hard to believe Christmas is only 4 weeks away!

Sheila, be sure to bring a rain coat or umbrella since it is supposed to rain later this week in SoCal. Could be a bit chilly as well, along the coast.

Hope you all have a great day!

Hi Barbie!

It's another chilly day in Ocala, but we're about 10 degrees warmer than we were one week ago. By Wednesday, we should be back in the low 70's and Thanksgiving Day through the end of the week, we'll be in the high 70's. Considering the weather at our home in MD, this really isn't bad, but I've gotten so accustomed to the warm weather that I whine when it's cold.

There is a group here that will go to Cracker Barrell for Thanksgiving, but it's not Thanksgiving unless you fix the meal and have leftovers, so we're having Thanksgiving in our site Friday. If anyone is around, you're more than welcome to join us. There will be more than enough food. Christmas will be the same, with a large meal prepared in Irmi's kitchen. Come one, come all.

I was up early this morning, wanted to go to town before the crowds. After coffee, breakfast and a shower figured I better go to the store. Thought I went early enough but guess everyone else had the same idea. They actually had 12 checkers OPEN. I thought I was in the wrong store LOL I didnt need much but sure did not want to get in the TDay shoppers crowd. Then there would be the Black Friday weekend people. And they are predicting SNOW on Tuesday, now whether we get any or not remains to be seen but the passes out of the valley will be getting dumped on (so they say). I dont have a lot of faith in our weather people. Made street tacos for lunch and now having a Peppermint mocha....mmmmm so good. Emma waits patiently for the addition of Whip Cream as she always gets a little taste on my finger.

Got a load of laundry in. It is chilly, cloudy outside, so I know the weather is changing. Need to find something on the tv that isn't a Hallmark movie LOL I have seen enough of those for a while. Guess I will check out Goliath....a series a friend recommended.

Not much to do in my yard this time of year. I already trimmed all the bushes so I have a reprieve until spring. But I am enjoying Barbie's projects.

I was up early with a headache. Took Tylenol and went back to bed and really slept in. Had a list of things to accomplish. Yesterday I put together a table which took way longer than it should have lol... And Ty ate one of the dowels I needed... I made a weird make do... Then late in the day, a tv I got a fantastic deal I but cancelled because it missed it's arrival date a few times, showed up. So I put it together today and it's now on that table I put together yesterday. I skipped some things on my list to watch a Christmas movie on Lifetime.

Then I took my little step stool for a seat, some gloves and went out to clear out some dead pieces and weeds in my cactus plants. My back was aching within minutes. There's a reason I don't garden. Anyway, I spent closer to an hour before I had to listen to my back. Not to say the pains in my hands caused by cactus thorns. I may need better gloves. LOL Then it was time for ibuprofen. Yes, more meds. Tomorrow I need to bag what isn't bagged yet and it's got to be good enough for now. Ty and I returned the gardening tools to the Hoe House (gotta love the name) and signed them back in.

I'm now getting the evil eye that another walk is needed. I'm going to grant him this wish as even though I slept in, I see a, hopefully, early night tonight.

Sheila, you may get rained on on Thanksgiving at Disneyland. Watch the weather reports. Sounds like a big storm coming in!

Got a few things done today but not as much as I should have. Moved my plants to the back patio where they will get more sun. I got a sample of the teal/green paint and painted some peel and stick paper they sell at HD to put on the wall to see if it is the right color. I put that on the trim on one of the windows on the deck. It looks like it might be a little too greenish. Went back to HD and got another sample of one that has just a bit more blue in it but still on the greenish side. There are a lot of versions of teal! Will try that tomorrow and see which one I like better. I always have a hard time deciding on colors. I might paint the shed if I have time. It gets dark so early now that I run out of daylight before I get everything done on my list. Maybe I need to get up and started earlier...hmmm

Have a huge storm system coming in to SoCal on Wednesday thru Friday. Lots of wind, heavy rains and up to 3 ft of snow in the local mountains! They say it will make a huge mess of the already notoriously grid-lock traffic heading out of Los Angeles for Thanksgiving. They are telling people to leave by Tuesday if they can. This storm is coming from the west this time so I might not see very much rain here. They usually run out of rain by the time they get just this side of the mountains west of here. Still need to get stuff put away and covered outside just in case.

Stopped at WinCo for some food and picked up one of their French apple pies and some WinCo brand salted caramel ice cream to put on it. Yum! Great combination! Just $6 for both the pie and ice cream! And way better tasting than the Whole Foods pie I got last week!

Have a good night!

Sheila - Sorry, but they are saying it will be a very big storm. Perhaps you could all stop at one of the dollar stores (Dollar Tree, 99 Only) on the way and pick up cheap umbrellas and the fold-up plastic rain ponchos they sell for $1.00. If you wait, you will find things for sale in Disney, but way more expensive! Keeping fingers crossed that the storm will pass through the Anaheim area before you get there and head on east leaving just scattered or light sprinkles for your family. Have a great trip!

There is a light rail train that runs from LA to San Diego called the Coaster. The Amtrak runs down there as well.

Have fun one way or the other! Maybe the lines won't be so long with the rainy weather!
