Sunny Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny Monday

Good morning! I’ve managed to get through all the breakdowns around here but still dealing with the water company situation on my road. I always have to watch the flag men when I’m pulling in and out of my driveway. Today they are laying asphalt so it’s turning into a production! Not to mention the noise keeps the dog stirred up! He isn’t sure what’s going on! I had a fun day trip to the outlets in Hershey last week. First time we went there. It’s smaller then Grove City but had a store we wanted to go to. Since I didn’t drive I got to really look around which is always a treat for me! Today I need to go to the fruit farm to pick up some apples to make a Dutch apple tart. Kinda a different version of apple pie but so good! Our Dutch neighbor used to make them this time of year and shared with us. I’ll take it to son’s on Thanksgiving to share with them. I’ve been watching the weather reports and looks like these of you out in CA might get some rain finally. Just hope it’s not going to be to much to fast. We’ve been lucky here and have had some rain but so far very little snow. I know it’s early yet so not going to get to used to this! Temps supposed to be low 50’s today and tomorrow. Guess it’s crazy all over. Well, enough rambling for me! Time to get moving and accomplish something today! Stay safe and warm.

Good morning Sharon and all who follow. It's sunny here today and 49 degrees, a 20 degree drop for this hour. Compared to a week ago! Wind moves in tomorrow, they say and rain by tomorrow night, but we are predicted to get only about half an inch. Mountains at highest may get feet of snow, difficult for those needing to cross mountains, but very good for start of ski season. I need to get to Curves then pick up the last perishables at grocery for Thanksgiving for son and I of our favorites. Already have our ham. We have 3 Dr appointments between us over Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, so we will stay busy. Only a week until my first "bionic eye" laser cataract surgery. Guess my only Black Friday shopping will be online squeezed between appointments!

I slept in until almost 11am this morning! I really need to get to bed earlier so I can get up earlier and be able to get an earlier start to getting things done. The days are short when it gets dark so early!

Got up and went next door to give my neighbor a haircut. Now I need to make a plan of action for the day. Not fun stuff; bills, trash, laundry, etc. Maybe I will get a little painting done in there somewhere. Need to do the test papers with the new paint and see if I like that shade better.

Cooler today and breezy but feels good. By the weekend, after the storms, the highs will be pushing 60 only. I can live with that! For me it will be sweater weather. For the natives out here, they will be wearing winter coats, hats, scarves, and mittens!

No Christmas shopping for me. Might get myself a gift or two on line. :D Need to get a box of cards tho and some Christmas decorations for the outside of the house. Probably just garland and bows for the deck railing and maybe a string of lights.

Have a good day! :D

I had a doctor's appointment at 8:00 this morning. They don't ask what is a good time, they just print out an appointment card. 8:00 is not a good time for me. lol Yesterday I was feeling good but this morning the pain is back. I have another pill pack. If I'm not better in 3 weeks he wants to send me for an MRI.

I got a recorded message from the water company that our water will be off tomorrow for 3 to 4 hours and then we will be under a boil water advisory. Great thing just before Thanksgiving. I need to remember to put some water in the bath tub to flush the toilets.

Yesterday it was in the low 60's all day but it's up to 78 today. It's suppose to rain again tomorrow and Wednesday.

It feels very chilly out there right now. Lots of warning about the approaching storm heading our way.
StormWatch 12 meteorologists predict accumulating snow and slick travel on Monday along the Cascades and Siskiyous, with the stronger storm due to arrive on Tuesday morning. Snow levels are expected to drop to nearly 2,000 feet by Tuesday morning, then down to 1,000 feet by the evening. (UH OH I am at 1500 ft so I thought.... Alexa says I am 1635ft Ooooooh)

Gusts of up to 70 mph are possible inland, and up to 100 mph along the coast. As Pacific Power warned, power outages and wind damage will also be a major concern. Winter weather impacts will be felt particularly strongly in the local valleys from Tuesday night into Wednesday.

I am busy charging up all my electronics. Got candles, my lantern (already charged up) Now nothing will happen if I am prepared LOL

Martha, last week my doctor's office called saying they want a follow-up. They told me 8:30 on whatever day and I said that will happen if this is an emergency and a house call. Luckily I got someone who laughed and then asked me what would be a good time.

It looks like the rain expected to start tomorrow here is holding off till Wednesday. Then it'll last 3 days. My longer drive to the skin doctor is tomorrow, local drive to my doctor Wednesday, so I'm glad the one further away and that I've never been to shouldn't be in the rain.

I'm totally tired of interviewing for next summer. I swear I ask questions and they ignore... Then ask when they could start. Ty is, I think, enjoying watching me pull my hair out. This has been the worst year ever filling these positions. Finally I had a great couple and after her knee acted up all weekend they discussed it further about her knee and his arthritis and turned the job down. I appreciated that... But ....

Ok, done pouting lol...

Glad to hear there are others who do not like crack of dawn appointments. When I was in Eugene, they were scheduling me for 7:30 or 8:00 am. appointments. I finally told them that I did not have a car in a warm and dry garage to get into, and that I had to use Uber, which meant standing outside in the rain and dark holding a flashlight so the Uber driver could find me. I told them at least schedule me a few minutes after the sun had risen so I did not have to come in with wet shoes and a miserable me!!

Had an interesting day at my aunt and uncle's house in the Georgia mountains. They are in memory care in Florida and the house is up for sale, but not selling well because it is so large and so isolated. Anybody want a 6,500 square foot house on a winding road overlooking mountains?? My aunt's favorite saying is "Waste not, want not," but trust me, she has not "wasted" or thrown away anything in 15 years. (She saves old envelopes to cut them up into note paper.) Ditto for my uncle. I spent 6 hours today looking through folders and folders of old bills, old advertisements, old receipts, and old empty envelopes! It is going to take us at least a week and a couple of helpers to toss all the junk they have accumulated. Found a few gems, but not the original legal documents I had hoped to find.

I need to get someone to do some cleaning and vacuuming because bugs are all over the place from the summer. Going back tomorrow to go through more files, because of course, I have only hit some of them. I only have the two days, but at least I can dig through some of it. Also need to get someone to take out all the food in the pantry and donate it and toss what is opened.

Then I head to Savannah and to Florida. Whew.

I have been very tired today. After giving my neighbor a haircut, I came home and fell asleep on the couch for several hours. Still very tired tonight. Will be going to bed early. Have golf in the morning and then work in the afternoon.

The winds came up about an hour ago and are ferocious! 35 mph with 50+ mph gusts! I went out to make sure everything was secure or put away. Sounds like a hurricane out there right now! :o

I guess there are 3 huge storm systems coming across the country this week. rain storms on the east coast, a huge winter storm across the Rockies on into the upper Midwest, and the big one here with lots of wind, rain and snow. The mountains just behind me in Joshua Tree National Park are high enough to get the snow so if the moisture heads this far east, there could be a nice white backdrop behind me by the end of the week. Glad I have no travel plans this week! As long as I can get to the club house for turkey, I will be happy! :D

Sheila, I hope the storm doesn't ruin your Disney plans with your family!

we will hope so as well Barbie
some will go tomorrow but two of the kids are coming in via plane and they have everyone's tickets ect mine I didn't want to buy 3 day plan... as I only plan on one day....I think the only thing that will keep them from the park is a total shut down of the park... and I really don't blame them a long ways to come and lots of money
today one of my dd her son and family and myself went to the San Diego Zoo... lots of up hill and down hill lots to see and enjoy...nice weather at times a bit chilly but a nice day we got there shortly after 9 and left shortly after 5 (it closes at 5) or we would have stayed longer... my knees hurt I am so tired didn't sleep well... one light was left on think that was part of it sleeping on a air mattress perhaps part of it... Shadow woke me up as he was ready to come to bed with me didn't look at the time but ... so took him out side in the back yard.. so he could pee not suppose to but I didn't want to go out the front and down the street... it was dark and a strange neighborhood.. that said because the back yard is fenced in I didn't put a leash on him just thought I would follow him see where I needed to clean up and let him go to it... I followed he led towards the back of the pool got him headed I thought in the right direction when he walked off the edge of the pool... up he came and swam like a trooper... all around finally got him out (he would get to the side bump it and swim away I think he couldn't find a way up) finally was able to grab his collar and pull him out. one of the kids left a towel to dry so grabbed it.. carried him inside and dried him off then grabbed another one that I'd brought and dried some more then laid him on the bed he was shivering so badly stayed wrapped up in the towel for hours cause I kept waking up and looking also I think the bed is cold forgot I wanted another blanket... so woke up at 6 very tired got a shower and spent the day at the zoo so very tired... we will hope tonight is better... and tomorrow is going to be a quite day a good part of it I will be by myself...
in Salt Lake City we have what is called fast track I think it's a train of sorts that goes from SLC up to North Ogden down as far as Provo about every half hour think if they had this here I'd grab it and go back to San Diego see Lyn and go to that botanical gardens although the zoo has lots of plants...
saw so much and enjoyed it lots... but so many zoos are doing the same type of exhibits where they are more in there natural habitat that it didn't seem that much more than others... a few animals that I've not seen elsewhere but .... there was one can't remember the name of it but so liked it ... had markings similar to a zebra on it's hind quarters... something made one think of a giraffe and don't remember what else... it is from the giraffe family there was also a bird of paradise bird so pretty... we saw a African Spoonbill not pink but white... so if I was keeping track of never before seen birds I would have filled a page but they were also hard to spot... yep a nice day
and a quite one tomorrow
