Thursday continues

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday continues

Good Morning...WOW, is all I can say Velda. What a day you have had. Barbie, sounds like you are enjoying the gardening.
I am still awaiting phone calls. I know my lungs are bad, probably failed all the breathing tests. Have decided I definitely want a mobility scooter, but awaiting the phone call from whomever is going to assess me for it?
Really looking forward to your post Carol from Baja. Love living vicariously through your travels.
The rain we had was wonderful...still getting a few showers.
I have been watching Hallmark Christmas shows on TV. They mostly all have the same theme! But, it is a break from reading.

Good morning Lyn, and all who follow. It's a beautiful sunny day again, 53 degrees at nearly 9 am. My patient got up an hour ago and took his pain rx and his other RXs. Other than pain and a little swelling, he is doing ok. Upward and onward. Later we hope to get to Costco and Walmart to finish our shopping for thanksgiving, I have much of it but we need a few things. And we need to start Christmas shopping for each other.
Barbara, so glad you are enjoying your new home. Have a great rest of your day everyone.

Woke up to clear skies this morning! Still a bit cool out but good day for working on my plants, etc. The water has been shut off in the park for awhile so can't water anything until that comes back on.

Will stay home today and just work on plants, and stuff around the house, laundry, etc. I found another couple baggies of dollar bills from the yard sale so those will go to the bank this week too. I could probably change them in at work tho instead. We always need one's there.

I ordered a cover for my trailer and got that yesterday. Will have to find someone to help me put that on.

There is a gourd festival in Yucca Valley north of here this weekend. I plan on going on Saturday to check it out. I still have things I need to get started working on gourd art but that will give me inspiration and ideas to get going on that. I will take pics. Some of the work they do on gourds is truly amazing!

I think I will take a walk this morning since yesterday's walk didn't last very long due to the rain.

Have a great day! :D

Velda, you had a busy day yesterday. I don't think I will get rid of the ramp we had for Harold because there are days I have to use it. Yesterday I was feeling much better but today not so much. I probably do too much when I'm not in pain. Yesterday I had to take cold medicine twice because my nose was running so much. I thought I was coming down with a cold but today it's gone.

AT&T is going to give me a heart attack because they make me so mad. Yesterday I was trying to find out why they took it upon themselves to double my data and charge me more money. Of course I couldn't do it online and a screen came up wanting me to give a review. Boy did they get one. In a few minutes I get a text with a number to call. A lot of good that did because the woman wanted to send a text with a number to my son's phone so they know it's me. After going round and round I finally hung up on her. I just got a text wanting to know how satisfied I was with her help. I think I'll wait until later to answer it because they will probably call me again. Since AT&T took over Directv I can't get into the online account for that because my son was taking care of it and I don't know the username or password. Maybe if I quit paying the bill someone will figure out how to get me into that account. I have been to the local store and they are useless. I need to gather up all my paperwork and go to the main store in Lafayette.

I need to go get cat food for the outside cats. I would like to go to Walmart but don't think that will happen.

I totally and completely despise AT&T. Their so-called "customer service" is worse than the total pits. I had their service for a few years - LOL - when they doubled the cost of my internet access (sound familiar?) I dumped them. Lucky for me, the alternative in my area is Comcast. I went with them. I'll not sing their praises either - but they are at least 10 steps up from AT&T.

As for AT&T/Directv - AT&T has been hemorrhaging money (and DirecTv subscribers) since AT&T acquired DirecTv a couple of years ago, and AT&T stockholders are raising hell about it. Thus the future of DirecTv is becoming a bit uncertain, if I am reading things correctly.

AT&T has lost more than 5 million subscribers since 2016. Here's some fun math: $100/month (cost of average subscription) x 5 million = $500 million per month in lost revenue. A bit more than chump change.

Their current losses in the third quarter of 2019 continue:

"AT&T lost more than 1.3 million TV customers in Q3 2019 as its nosedive in both the traditional pay-TV and online-streaming markets continued."
https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2019/10/att-loses-another-1-3-million-tv-customers-as-directv-freefall-continues/

This is also why AT&T seems to be trying to grub more money any way that they can - from wherever and from whomever they can - like what they did to you, Martha.

AT&T/Directv may be circling the drain as a television service provider. So sad.   Couldn't happen to a nicer company. 8-)

Martha (and anyone else who might like to) do a Google search on "AT&T s_ _ _ ks" (lol - only without the spaces).

Martha, you will find we are NOT alone.

And I'm happy with AT&T and feel how you guys do about them for Verizon. Funny how it all depends on individual experiences.

Another overcast, cool day here so I've spent it cooking. 3 rounds in the pressure cooker today. I bought some chicken while I was out yesterday, so it's chopped up for two more rounds tomorrow. Someday I might look at a recipe LOL

Ty loves carrots so he got done while I was chopping them. I haven't been keeping up with his doing things for treats, and he was never particularly good at rolling over except for the treats Linda gave him). Ha, he rolled over, shook... He definitely loves carrots.

Made it to just north of Cincinnati and will head to Kentucky and maybe Tennessee tomorrow. Might take it slow and just stop in KY.

So, my lung blob was negative, colonoscopy does not need to be repeated for 3-5 years, and even dermatologist gave me good news, but my sons are driving me crazy. My thyroid lit up a bit, but there was nothing on my last two cat scans, and I have no symptoms, so I am not worried, but i did have an ultrasound yesterday. If there is anything, I will deal with it in Florida. Sons, however, think I should stay in Ohio for a couple more months in case I need treatment of some sort--no way!!! If I need treatment, it will be in someplace warm, not someplace cold and snowy. And I have a couple of cousins I am fairly close to if I need some help in Florida, but I can't imagine that happening anyway.

And after spending three weeks wondering and worrying if I had lung cancer, I need a break from worrying. It's not as if I have been neglecting my health with all the tests I have had over the last month!! Enough is enough for a while.

I think I am the only person in this state park, but I have had that happen before, and I am locked in and feel safe.

Judy, you spent last winter in a cold place. You deserve to be in a warm place this winter!

Took a long walk around the park this morning. Then put in a request to paint the trim around the windows on my house. Got my tomato and strawberry plants planted and then went back to Home Depot for some more plants. They had large hibiscus plants in yellow/orange colors but they were too expensive. I found two milkweed plants so I bought those. Need to get a couple plants to attract the butterflies tho. There is a concrete ring around the palm tree next to my house so I got some mini petunia plants to put in around there. The ground is pretty hard so I watered it and will water it again later to soften it up so I can dig it up and put the plants in tomorrow.

Painted one of my metal lizards teal green to match the metal palm tree I painted before. Will hang both on the front of the shed. Also had a neighbor cut the legs off the fence headboard that I also have in front of the shed. I may paint that teal green too. It is white and so is the shed so you can't see it very well. Or...I could paint the front of the shed the peach color of the house and paint the trim along the roof, teal green...hmmm...

Good evening. Had an uneventful day today except for going to the Eye Doctor for my shot in my eye. I can finally see the computer to type LOL

Good news Judy on all your issues. Now that is behind you. Safe travels.

I had Directv and have not been happy with them since AT&T took over so I dumped them last month. I had them for phone service 10 years ago and it was terrible. So I tried Sprint, OMG even worse. Ended up with Verizon and have been happy with them ever since.

Tomorrow is Mexican Train day at my house. I am sure I will be able to see all I have to see in order to play tomorrow. Usually the eye is much better by morning. The good news is that it is working and my Doc was very pleased. Wants to keep me on the monthly schedule for now.

I am going to make ribs in my Instant Pot this weekend. They come out sooooooo good.

You are right, Barbie. I was on a path to have two cold and damp winters in a row, but am not going to go along with it. And I managed all my treatments last winter on my own, so if I need a consult with a thyroid doctor or even need part of it removed, there are doctors in Florida, and I have a couple of cousins who I know will help me, with a lot less grumpiness and bossing than my kids! (Addendum: Just got thyroid results and they show some nodules, but apparently nothing terribly serious as they want a repeat ultrasound in one year. Guess I will survive another year!)

The Ohio son wants to be helpful but likes to complain while he is being helpful. The California son is overly helpful--enough to drive you crazy. Personally, when I am sick or in pain, I just like to crawl into bed and read and be left alone. He feels he has to hover and try to boss me though subtle hints, which is not my style.

You freaked me out with the shot in the eye, OregonLuvr! I suppose they did some things after I was unconscious for my cataracts, but I hate to even think about it!

I have been very happy with DishSatellite, by the way. I call them constantly when i change locations, or at least I used to, and they never complained at all. They were polite and efficient every time. And there is no contract with them, so I can quit any time.

I don't even want to think about a shot in the eye.

Judy, I know what you mean about helpful sons. My son is always asking me if I need help with anything. The few times I ask him to do anything he shows up about 4:00 and it gets dark at 5:00. I ask him to help me get the outside water pipes ready for the freeze. I got tired of waiting on him and did most of it myself and I was having to walk with a cane. Most of the time his idea of what should be done is not what I'm going to do. The whole time we are together he is complaining about his girlfriend or his health. He won't go to the doctor so I'm done with telling him to go. He has stomach problems but eats things he shouldn't.
