Pre-sale Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Pre-sale Thursday

Postby BarbaraRose » Thu Nov 14, 2019 12:30 pm

Yesterday I spent the whole day going thru all the stuff in my porch. I got about half of it outside now in boxes for the sale tomorrow. Today I will organize and price everything.

I heard my name called from outside this morning while I was still in bed. I went out in my pj's half asleep to find some neighbors asking about stuff I had out there for the sale. I ended up selling $30 worth of stuff to her!

I guess I better get busy in case I have more neighbors coming by early!

Our power went off for awhile last night. I had come across a box with little battery-operated lanterns for camping, yesterday, so I used the light on my phone to find the box again and took some out. I went to 3 of my neighbors houses to see if they needed to use one but they all had something for light.

My exhaust system is broken somewhere and I am getting exhaust in my car when I turn on the AC, so I need to find a place to bring that in soon. Always something

I better get up and moving here before it gets too warm. Supposed to be clouds rolling in later like they did yesterday afternoon so that always helps block some of the heat from the sun. No rain tho.

Have a good day! :D

Hi Barbie & everyone!

Barbie, I've heard of early bird yard sale buyers, but coming a day early is unheard of (or it is where I come from) but I'm so happy you're doing so well selling your items! Like others have said, I think you have finally found an area you can call home, feel comfortable, and enjoying making new friends.

The cold front hit Ocala FL, but nothing like lots of those on the east coast. I'm so glad I'm here and not at our home in MD. Yesterday we only got in the 60's, today is somewhat warmer but cloudy and for almost the next week, will stay in the 60's. We miss our friend, Brenda, who has been our FL neighbor for the last several years and hope she's enjoying exploring another new area of the country.

Enjoy your day, stay warm and safe!

Lots of people walk by with their dogs or driving by in their golf carts early in the morning and these ladies live just down the street from me. Should be a busy day tomorrow. Now that I have everything spread out, it doesn't look like quite so much but I am sure I will find things to add to it as I go along. Still need to go back out and price everything.

We are still 10 - 15 degrees above normal for this time of year. Should be in the 70's here but still in the low 90's.

Good luck with your sale, Barbie.

I stayed around home today waiting on a delivery of a futon I got a great deal on. I got a notice it was delivered. Not here! I just walked all over the park because my futon was delivered to 205, not 105. I'm guessing it's my fault. :( Got to 205 and they'd loaded it in their truck and took it to the office. Got to the office and said I'd ask my neighbors to help when they got home. Office, being helpful, called the maintenance guy who attempted to load it on a cart on top of rakes and shovels , etc and I'm watching the box get torn. So I upset him when I asked to be more careful but he did switch vehicles. He was snotty bringing it in the casita and wouldn't let me help. But one of the girls from the office had come down and helped. I've unboxed it and appears ok, but by then I'm dripping sweat so putting it together (basically putting the feet on) will have to wait. All the parts are there and I love the color. After I get the feet on, whenever that is, I'll get my neighbors to help me turn it over.

And that was my day.

Got everything marked and covered the tables with blankets til tomorrow morning. Got signs put up. Spent some time at the house of the lady who stopped by this morning. She had invited me to come over and see her new place. She and her husband used to rent here and finally just bought a place of their own.

Got an appointment tomorrow afternoon to get my exhaust system looked at/fixed. Hope that doesn't eat up all my profits from the sale!

I plan to get up at O'dark Thirty so I will be ready for the early birds.

yes good luck on the sale oh except it probably was today and I am the late comer..... hope it went well Barbie
it is hard when you have to track down something that should have be delivered correctly... when you get the legs on and turned over hope you will post a picture of it...
had a stay at home day totally lazy for what I should have done but did get somethings done... the one cupboard that was in disarray is straightened up and dishes done and mugs ect put away plants mostly watered ice water gotten out of cooler and put in jugs... for use in dishes or flushing the toilet ect. so although I was lazy did accomplish something... tomorrow is games we will be having hobo soup with it... thinking of making this bread really sounds like a muffin but what do I know??? anyway sounds easy hopefully good... my sister messages me recipes a lot are Filipino recipes and this is from one of the Filipino sites so assume that it is... can't pronounce the name nor at this moment remember the spelling other than it starts with a K
when I was still in Utah the radio station has on Sundays songs for the Sabbath and the mc said a saying that I liked am hoping to find it but can't remember the name of the person who said it ... she has passed away but was known for her sayings and poetry... hate to use race as a description but is black and Oprah really liked her she had her on her show more than once.. can anyone come up with her name? and hopefully I will recall more than the word better in the quote... :?
you all have a good day stay safe I think here the weather is a bit cooler than norm and next week might have rain for a couple of days...

Sheila, Maya Angelou? She was awesome.

Tomorrow I return to the doctor. I want to try to go to a couple meetings here. I'll probably have to leave the first before the end and who knows if I'll be back for any of the second LOL But I'll try. I haven't been doing enough in the park and before I know it I'll be on the road again. End of the month or in the first week of December it'll happen. I've spent way too much money, but I'm hoping that means I'll spend nothing next year or the year after or the year after that. :D

It was overcast all day and rained off and on. My hair was aggravating me so I called and got an appointment to get it cut this afternoon. Almost all of the last mess I did is gone. Dropped some papers off and went to the post office. I wanted to go to Walmart but I ran out of steam after the hair cut. Maybe I can make it tomorrow and get my fish fix for lunch.

Saturday is election day and I will be so glad when it's over. Our governor is in a runoff and Trump has been to Louisiana 3 or 4 times to support the guy running against him. There are back to back TV ads all day and phone calls all day.

Barbie, good luck with the sale. I should have a garage sale but since I live on a dead end road with very few neighbors it would be a dud. At some of the campouts some put tables of stuff to sell or give away. I'm not that organized. I'm doing good to get things loaded just to camp. I need to think of some food to make for the Christmas campout. I'm sure we will have a potluck or two. With so many coming there will be way too much dessert.
