Gosh, Lyn, so glad you could surface again! We were all concerned. Funny, but I'm going through the same thought process. Hate to give up, but exhausting to hook and unhook, set up, break down, keep climbing in and out, checking levels, etc. I've downsided twice, but even Serendipity is getting to be too much and she is a "B". It would be a hard chore to sell her, deal with potential buyers and get enough to cover my loan balance.
I have a friend with one of those fancy regular vans - the type with only a sofa, a small cabinet and has extra headroom. She used to belong to my GS camping group and tries to join us once or twice a year. I picked her brains last month. She uses a heavy duty extension cord at RV parks for coffee pot, small micro, and toaster/oven, and a porta-potty. No stooping for hookups or leveling, etc. but can't boondock that easily especially out here where it can at times be unbearably hot or cold. I've thought of going the motel route and joining up with friends camped nearby, but that has another set of problems, too. It's so hard to hang up the keys and give up the traveling we love. Think it over carefully and know you have a lot of friends giving you support for whatever you decide.
