Raining Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Raining Wednesday

Postby asirimarco » Wed Nov 06, 2019 9:12 am

Guess I'm up early. We are in Amado, AZ about 25 miles from Mexico border. It is raining here this morning. Not hard but enough to get wet. I think I just heard thunder...We will stay here until next Tuesday. I want to be able to watch NASCAR race on Sunday so staying a full week is cheaper then 6 days.
Had interesting drive yesterday. Long for us and blew a tire on the highway and then saw a beautiful rain cloudburst just around sunset. Got to campground after dark, but had amazing service with FMCA Roadside Assistance. Two hours from first call to them and back on road with new tire.
Not planning on doing anything today.
Wrote about yesterday on the blog and pictures of the strange cloud burst.
Those of you traveling - hope you have an uneventful drive.
Coffee is on and rolls are waiting.

Wednesday Chill

Postby JudyJB » Wed Nov 06, 2019 11:22 am

Supposed to be in Eugene but airport was closed last night so had to spend the night in Salt Lake City. Plane leaving 11:15 am so need to get back to airport from hotel. Had To reschedule my early morning appt to afternoon so probably won’t get back to Detroit until tomorrow. Left rig in Detroit with furnaces running low so tanks won’t freeze.

Just got doctor appt for 3 pm so will find someplace for a relaxing lunch. Will have to reschedule return tomorrow. Whew.

Why was the airport closed? Glad you were able to reschedule.

I survived another visit from my ex-daughter-in-law and my grandson. They got here late Monday and are flying home this morning so I only had to put up with her for one day. She yammers on and on about my son and it doesn't do any good to tell her that it doesn't help me to hear all that over and over. She was married to him for about 5 years almost 15 years ago but she can't let it go. Now she is friends with the second ex-wife, the one I threatened to run over if I got the chance. You can see these 2 make me crazy. As my younger son says, "Scott could sure pick them." I am real sure that I will have a trip planned the next time she wants to come.

My bout with sciatica is getting better. The pain had moved to the other side yesterday. I am trying to get loaded for a campout this weekend so I'll see how 50 trips back and forth to the RV works out. I wish we would have today's weather for the weekend, it's 78 and sunny. It's suppose to rain tomorrow and be in the 60's this weekend.

Just got home from work. Leaving shortly to go to church for spaghetti dinner and then listen to the second candidate for the ministerial position. After watching You Tube videos of his sermons, I am excited to hear him.

I have the next two days off. Lots of errands to run tomorrow and then need to work on going thru and organizing the living room and porch to get all the stuff together for the yard sale the following week. That is coming up quick! Tomorrow night is the Welcome Back party and dance so that should be fun.

It has been hot, in the 90's the past several days but is supposed to cool off again by the weekend.

Last Saturday was the first day of golf here when they officially opened the course for the season and had a golf tournament of sorts. 183 people signed up!!! That is a lot of golfers!

My friend Ginger took me to lunch for my birthday and we had a great time. The restaurant had a fabulous apple vinaigrette salad dressing (never heard of it before so I had to try it). They won't give the recipe but would sell some so Ginger and I both left with small mason jars of it.

Ty got a chew for my birthday and is hiding with it right now . I just watched a Hallmark Christmas movie I'd never seen. Funny, I don't want stores to do Christmas until after Thanksgiving, but I can watch the movies year round.

I have a little ice cream in my freezer so that'll be my treat later tonight. Let me tell you, getting older might be frustrating, but it sure beats the alternative.

The Eugene airport was closed due to heavy fog. The city is in the middle of a valley with mountains on all sides, plus it is wet here because it gets so much rain, and that can produce fog. Cleared up this morning.

wow we are blessed today two morning check in's  which do I reply to think this one!!! glad you are getting a rest in
before heading into MX and the reason's we use mine for my stay over of one day was so I could vacuum well... which I did and I made a mistake of starting a new book actually 4 in one... novelettes think they are called read first one and started the next one it might keep me up later than normal and that isn't good!! tomorrow it is on to Q just a 100 miles away but .... up hill and down hill and only 55 miles per hour... Which way do you go when you leave Vegas and head to Q? I do the 95 don't like to drive through cities and Havasu and it's many stop lights are among what I don't want to do...
just found out another friend isn't going to be in Q this year  will miss her but her husband is going to be 93 and he isn't sure he is up to it... that said I am not sure I will be there next year either... as my mom will be 94 in Oct. and the dr even now isn't keen on her being alone. so I may have to decide to move in and help her out... we will see what happens during the year... she is doing ok mind wise body is getting frail and simply doesn't eat well when left on her own..
going to check out the other morning coffee see what all is going on there

Well, I didn't get my spaghetti dinner. They had mashed potatoes and meatloaf instead, which was really good but ate too much and got a tummy ache. Stayed to listen to the minister candidate. He really wowed everyone so I think he will be a shoe-in for the position. I talked to several people there who all had the same impression I did.

I found out that the people who bought my dad's house are moving in now. I had heard they were going to remove trees in the yard but I guess they only had one removed which was a half-dead pine tree. Hopefully, none of the oak trees will get cut down. The previous owner had planned to take down almost all the oak trees. Glad he never got around to doing that! My friend next door said they look like "normal" people (versus rich, snobby people) so she is relieved! Lol!

Feels like a good night to have the windows open! Cool and fresh air! :D

Am very tired tonight so off to bed early.
