And It's Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

And It's Sunday

Postby Bethers » Sun Nov 03, 2019 10:20 am

It's also Peaches' birthday. She is gone but never forgotten. I think Ty will get a present today in her honor.

Nothing exciting going on in my world. Still cuddling under the covers waiting for the day to warm up. Then I'll be doing another load of laundry to hang out to dry. And I see a nice desert walk before the temps go up too much.

I hope everyone that needs to remembers to change their clocks.

I haven't changed my clocks yet. I figured when I woke up, I would be happy to realized I had another hour to sleep! I have now made it to the couch. Will get dressed, have breakfast and get started on housework around here. A beautiful day outside. I missed most of yesterday's beautiful weather being at work but there will be another 6 months of beautiful weather to enjoy here yet!

Have a great day! :D

I drove from my son's house south of Cleveland to the Ohio Turnpike Service Area at mile 76.8. It has an RV area with electric hookups, plus a water fill station and dump station, which is very handy since you don't even have to get off the turnpike. Cost is $20, which is reasonable. Right now I am the only person here, but parking on cement and getting here at 3:00 pm enabled me to add some water to my tanks and pull out my suitcase and winter coat from my underneath storage area. It is COLD here!! I also was able to re-stow some stuff I have had out for a couple of weeks. The place where I had been camping was muddy with very narrow sites. So the mud combined with the cold, kept me from reorganizing.

I stopped along the way at a Penney's and bought a 21" carry-on suitcase. I am heading back to Eugene for an overnight doctor's appointment and have two problems: the first is that my other suitcase is just too big for an overnight trip, and second, I am getting tired carrying my 15" laptop in a backpack because it is so heavy. I would have preferred an even smaller suitcase, but any smaller and my laptop won't fit. So on the way to Detroit tomorrow, I need to stop in a computer store and get a cushioning computer sleeve and something to put all the odds and ends like my mouse, cords, and hot spot. Then I will put all this on top of my clothing and carry it all on. This way, I will have only one thing to handle and can give my back a rest from my 15 pound computer case!! (That is the weight with all the stuff like pills and other electronics.) I have been checking my larger suitcase (only 24" but thick and too heavy for me to lift into overhead compartment on planes) and carrying the backpack on my back, but it just isn't working for me anymore as I get older. For a longer trip when I need to take more clothing, I will get some sort of smaller rolling backpack that my laptop will fit into.

Judy, are you planning on leaving your MH in OH or Detroit while you are gone? I would be concerned about frozen water lines since you aren’t winterized. There is more cold air filtering down for mid week, like highs in mid 30’s and low’s in mid 20’s for Detroit Area. They have already seen snow this fall.

Good thinking Sue, but knowing Judy, she will have her ducks in a row to make sure nothing happens, even if it means dumping and emptying all her water lines.

It is still very mild in Ocala and we still have our windows open & I just turned off the fans. The next few days will be in the mid 80's, so I'm happy.

Tina & Sarah (or anyone else!), I'm hoping you're both considering coming to the Ocala area at some point this winter!

I will leave both furnaces on low. They each duct into either enclosed water or sewage areas, so they are not likely to freeze. (Advantage of a motorhome over a trailer is enclosed tanks.) Also, I will be flying out Tuesday early evening and returning Wednesday late night. It will be 28-30 Tuesday night and 30 on Wednesday night. Thursday is colder at 25, but I have stayed in my rig at 22 degrees with no freezing as long as I keep the furnaces going a bit. Friday, I will be headed back to Ohio, and it will get warmer on Saturday and beyond.

I will dump both grey and black water anyway. So fresh will be my only concern, but I can't do anything about that. No place to park inside, I am afraid. I have to make this quick trip, and I have to get back to Ohio for a colonoscopy on Monday and some more tests later in the week. I am trying to get everything done in a short time, and this thing in my lung is a real concern that I have to have checked out.

I am supposed to leave for Florida on Nov 16, but if i have to delay it, I may end up having to winterize and move into a condo my son just bought in Sandusky. I really, really hate to do that.

Anybody have a really big garage I could borrow?

my son in law came over and we hooked up the fifth wheel... part of the hook up and unhooking I haven't been able to do as it means climbing in the back of the truck which is something I haven't been able to do..height problems there  at least now I know more of what I am doing... it's just that one part... need to get off the computer and put stuff away as I totally spread out when in a spot more than over night... I had thought I would dump my tanks here but it's been so cold that I think I will just travel on and plan on stopping over in Needles and hopefully by then all will less slushy and flow better... but on the other hand it's going to take more to keep the fridge at a semi low temps going to keep most of the stuff in a cooler with it being the things we put in a fridge that really don't need to be quite so low like condiments pickles fruit ect right now it's around 43 but for sure when it gets hotter that will change and I may go to another cooler and just forget keeping the fridge somewhat cool we will have to see and hopefully it won't be much longer than a month..
so on the road tomorrow always apprehensive but if I want to do this that is what I have to do.
and I want to go down south where I have many friends and it's warm...
looking forward to seeing several of you all this winter as well

I am pretty happy tonight. I got a lot done today! Did all my laundry, including putting away the clean clothes from the last time I did laundry, washed dishes, cleaned up my bedroom, cleaned and organized the kitchen. Came up with a lot more stuff for the yard sale. And I met some new neighbors! So nice to have my golf cart back. Makes going to the dumpster and laundry room much easier.

Now I have the living room to tackle. Will have lots more for the yard sale after going thru that. Still have to get rid of a lot of stuff to get a place for everything in here.

I found my air purifier so have that going to keep the air smelling good in here. It is right by the litter box...

I work tomorrow and Tuesday afternoon. Tuesday morning is the start of the putting golf league so I will go try that out. They have a 9 hole putting course. Should be fun! On Thursday evening, there is a Welcome Back party and dance so I plan to go to that too.

The minister of my church is planning to retire next year so they are looking for a replacement for him. They have 2 candidates. One was here two weeks ago and I heard him speak. He was really good. However, we have another guy speaking on Wednesday evening. I watched some YouTube videos of his sermons and he is absolutely fantastic. He would be perfect for this church. He has a lot of the same qualities I really like in our current minister, very dynamic, great sense of humor, and very articulate. I am going to hear him on Wednesday (mostly for the free spaghetti dinner beforehand! ) but he already has my vote.

OK, off to bed...

JudyB, I picked up a small rolling suitcase from Walmart - it's perfect when I carry 3 laptops to/from Kansas City. It's also very inexpensive - maybe $15 -$20. I saw a guy with it after a flight once & asked him what brand it was. He didn't know but told me to check out Walmart. It's the perfect size for a laptop & a few other things. I've usually just wrapped each laptop in a towel or clothes to protect them. I've been using it for a couple of years now & it's held up well. Plus it's small enough for those airlines that really have small requirements for carry-ons.
Safe travels.

Catherine, I think that sounds like the one I found at Walmart to take to Scotland. This was after spending hours on line and running around and checking stores
In person. I learned to carry a tape measure with me. Often the size listed does not include wheels....

I actually left on time today meaning not after checkout  was thrilled as I didn't do much of anything last night and then hit snooze more than I should have. and got out of the site without any problems rather tight especially when I parked to close to the hookups and the guy that came in after me did the same we were up close and personal... I really had fears but did it and made it through SLC without problems...had to laugh I stopped in Fillmore for diesel and to walk Shadow a bit... when my daughter calls me and asks why I am stopping I tell her and she said you are much to close to those areas that always get you... well not really but I will keep on trucking after Shadow gets out and I get to inside!!! however I didn't stop in Beaver either... Got to Cedar City before dark yea hate setting up after dark
looked at the miles and it's about the same as I went today from here to Needles so perhaps will go to Needles tomorrow hopefully leave before 11 it always gets darker faster in CA
so all has been well today will hope for the same tomorrow
got here and laid down for a 1/2 hour nap right??? an hour later oh well what was I going to do TV not set up and no place close enough to walk to for supper so it was a ham and cheese sandwich and chips and probably the same tomorrow unless I heat up soup about all here and the campground I stop at in Needles is far from any place as well oh well we will get to Q and unhook
