A Late October Tuesday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

A Late October Tuesday Morning

Postby Colliemom » Tue Oct 29, 2019 7:48 am

Good Morning on this chilly, cloudy October Tuesday. Hope it finds you all well, although I know those farther west are still under to covers yet.

Nothing much doing around here at the moment. Pups are sleeping and some bedding is in the washer. But I’ll be up and getting the day started pretty soon. Already had my morning protein shake and strawberries, took my Vitamin D pill and my Glucosamine tablets. Exciting stuff huh

Thinking I might take a ride over to an orchard farm market and vest some cider. Finished up the first one I bought and want some more. Might be a little rainy, but gotta take advantage of the driving weather while I can before winter sets in for keeps. As is, we might have some snow on Thursday night which is par for the course on Halloween . Temps are to be below normal for at least the next week. Got my leaves cleaned up for now but there are still some hanging tough out there. Otherwise, everything’s done and put away with exception of my shrub covers that I don’t do till more serious snow time comes. My nice neighbor greased all the points on my lawn tractor for me the other day while he was doing his. My grease gun headed for the trash. Need a new one. I changed the oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter and spark plugs, so all set for spring. He said he will install new mower blades in spring, when they return from FL. So nice having great neighbors. Thry took me out for dinner last night, in appreciation for my watching their house while they are gone. And other neighbors brought me a yummy dark chocolate topped with pecans covered apple from our famous Chocolate Haus here. Think Carmel Apple but in different flavors. They are huge. All the toppings, Chocolate etc., are created here, made in small batches, hand dipped etc... is your mouth watering yet!

Guess it’s time to get a move on here. Have a nice day all.

Still morning for a few minutes here. Sue, I just did the first round of doing leaves yesterday! I loaded a bunch of bags in my car but I have to wait awhile to get rid of them. The waterline crew started to put in a new line from across the road to my line which is right in the middle of my driveway yesterday afternoon. But as my luck goes, they ran into a problem. Apparently the line under the road, it’s very old, is only 28” deep vs my newer line which is the required 48”. So apparently a whole new set of problems. They didn’t want to try to work in the dark so said they’d be here around 8 to start correcting everything. Yesterday they said about 3 hours but we’re beyond that. They did put a steel plate over the whole last night but removed it today. So right now I’m trapped! They said I was very lucky that we haven’t had a break during the winter and the freeze. Okay, I’ll take that! So that’s my excitement for today! I just want to get rid of these leaves today before we maybe get rain tomorrow! Just grateful that they have to correct the problem and I don’t have to pay anything! Part of their contract.
So hope you all have a good day and travel safe.

Sunny and 56 degrees here in my part of northern California . I'm showered and heading soon to eye Dr to visit the surgical coordinator. Sure didn't anticipate so many visits to get this done. Have been using the gel drops Dr recommended faithfully but really don't like them as they actually irritate my eyes on top of the apparently normal blurring , but very inconvenient when you don't have someone to drive for you every single day on moments notice. Then yesterday learned the pharmacy the eye Dr sent the surgery eye drops to can't get them at moment, so gotta get that figured out. After my appointment, Chris and I will head to Costco/Walmart to get rest of what we need for our chili, which has long been our Halloween tradition. Have candy to pass out and hope we get our usual 30 or so, as I don't want leftovers- I don't touch it, but Chris does and should not!
Today wind is picking up again for about a day. Hope they made overnight progress on the fires as wind becomes a blow torch again. Have a good day everyone.

Our morning started out with clear skies, crisp 25 and a light breeze. By 10am we are having gusty winds, leaves blowing all over my yard damnit. I just got rid of all of them and now they are back. I dont even have a dang tree in my yard. Rolled up my outside window shades so they dont get damaged by the wind. I wont need them anytime soon anyway. Also covered my other outside spigot with my insulated box. Boy did my hands get chilly. Now I am inside warming up.

Need to take my Motorhome this afternoon and get it winterized. I am thinking just in the nick of time. Need to do some housekeeping chores but I am thinking those can wait until tomorrow.

Busy with trying to get in several doctor appointments. Yesterday was eye lid doctor and today was pulmonologist and then a bunch of tests to check my lung capacity and breathing. All well so far, but the pulmonologist is concerned with a small spot in my lung, so has scheduled a PET Scan. If it is positive, then they will have to do a biosy, hopefully from the outside of my chest. This will involve spreading my ribs slightly (ugh) and taking a sample, but he said it would be done under local anesthesia, which is good.

I brought my most recent blood work results and the recent cat scan reports and the images on a CD, which saved me being poked for blood and a repeat cat scan!! Because I live alone and travel so much, I carry around or have access to all of my medical tests and report. Saves time and more appointments! Tomorrow is the dentist and the week after next, I have two other appointments and a colonoscopy!

Really cold here south of Cleveland. I have pretty much gone through my tank of propane, so will have to fill up tomorrow or the next day. Brrrr. Really want to be in Florida instead of here.

Woke up this morning feeling really good and pretty much pain-free!!! Yay!! Worked 6 hours and barely felt any discomfort at all. I feel very lucky!

After work, I came home and got dressed up for the Halloween party here. I just got home. It was really fun and I met a lot of new people who have recently arrived. There weren't many who were dressed up but everyone loved my costume. Lots of good food and drinks.

Here is a photo of my outfit... I also had a tail on. The orange thing is a mouse hanging from the cat's mouth. The shirt is one I got when I took my mom to see the "Cats" play many years ago. I have kept the shirt for sentimental reasons. It worked well tonight.

Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Cute .... and glad you are feeling better Barbie
I totally understand Judy been through one tank of propane since coming although to be honest it wasn't totally full as I
had ran the buddy off it for a few days... but really need to go get it filled tomorrow I don't want to run out of propane totally we are in a Arctic Blast outside temps is 20 right now will see how low it does go... inside 60 sitting here with a electric throw on... been for most of the day... went to lunch with a friend had Navajo taco... was so good although we would have been smarter if we had ordered the fry bread and a bowl of chili... the fry bread was plate size... its so cold that it's keeping the fridge at about 40 so put a quart of milk in it...
the running boards weren't the right ones after all... so nephew who owns the shop is going to fix something up for just the drivers side which is what I use most of the time. when I am up north others might drive and I'll be the passenger but I will be able to get in as I do now will look weird not sure how I will handle that other than for the most part won't see it right?
then he looked at the front tires they were questionable but thought they would be ok till spring then he spun it for some reason while up on the rack and one was egg shape so two front new tires... ugh although it doesn't surprise me... will be paying on this bill for a long time might not have it paid off before I get back
have decided to stay here till Monday with the truck being in the shop till tomorrow night and bad weather in the mountains that I would have to go over on Weds and Thursday decided unless the weather changes again next week is a better travel week.. we will hope so...
so that is my story it was a good day oh yes got another Swedish Weave started my friend helped me it's been so long that I wasn't getting it too well ... need to talk with my dd she played with my phone trying to clear up space and today went into the gallery to show a picture to my friend and only three pictures showing and then last night pretty much the same with my coloring pages... nothing showing not sure on those if she deleted them or what but know that the photo's she wouldn't have.. :?
