Rainy Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rainy Sunday

Postby Shirlv » Sun Oct 27, 2019 8:41 am

Good Morning All, It’s a windy, rainy morning on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. A good morning to sleep in. Just had an invitation to join great grands for an Adams Family Breakfast at I Hop. I appreciate the call but my joints do not bend until 10:00 am. Not big on black and blue food either. :D Judy glad you are on the mend, you have certainly had your share of health issues. The shingle vaccine has been on my to do list but is now at the top. Beth, your casita sounds like a fun project. I’m still looking for a new project/hobby to get into for the winter. Safe travels.

Update, called the three local pharmacies and shingle vaccine not available. Evidently there is a shortage. Will call doctor tomorrow to be put on their list.

Morning Shirl! I did get the first of the two shingles shots yesterday. I tried several times last year but they were always out of stock. Finally, success. Now I have to get the second one in a couple /few months. Unfortunately my drug insurance doesn't cover it entirely. But I also have a very low premium so it's probably a wash.

Ty and I are still snuggled under the covers waiting on the day to start warming up. The desert temps vary so much.... Cold nights/hot days.

After we walk, I'll try to do some work in the casita and I have to do a few loads of laundry... Have to lol

Good morning. Brrrrrrrr chilly here this morning 28 with a high of 57 today. Skies are clear so hopefully the sunshine will warm us up a bit. The last few days have been great. Yesterday I cut back a few bushes for winter. Blew and raked the leaves....(I dont even have a tree but neighbors do). Then decided to clean my gutters, so that worked well. Then disconnected the hoses and put up my insulated boxes over the spigots. Added a couple gutter extensions on my shed to divert the water. Our community had a soup, salad, bread, dessert dinner last night. Was very good.

Today I am going to clean up my storage unit and reorganize a bit. Might even manage to get rid of a few things....if only. I am really trying to be more of a minimalist but sadly I am a bit of a failure.

Will spend the afternoon catching up on some tv shows. Since I cut the cord from Directv and added basic cable I am saving over $100 a month. I do miss the interactive remote control as this one is a bit convoluted but I am learning. I also have Hulu, Amazon, and Netflix. I did add Philo streaming as it has many of the channels I dont get with basic cable tv so I am all set. It is so cheap because it doesnt have local tv or sports but that works for me.

Have leftover soup for dinner tonight and some homemade bread so that will have to do.

Good morning. The sun was shining when I finally rolled out of bed this morning but is gone again. My driveway is filled with leaves! Boy, when they decided to come down they really fell! But way to wet right now to even consider raking them so it’ll wait for a drier few days. Such fun! I had a crazy day yesterday. First thing was younger son calling to tell me that their oldest boy had an accident heading toward Altoona. Some lady started to change lanes right in front of the boys and then slammed on her brakes causing them to hit her. His car is a mess and probably totaled and hardly any damage to her car. At least from what I saw in the photo son send me. Luckily no one was hurt so that’s the upside to it all. Then later I went to get something out of the freezer and discovered thawing food. Long and short of this story is that I had to get a new freezer. So called older son and he agreed to go pick it up for me and bring it in for me. So quick trip to Lowe’s to buy a new one and then wait for new one. Old unit had to be at least 25 to 30 years old, I think. I had planned to go through the freezer and rearrange etc. but not quite like this! I still need to get the things I carried out to Lola and stashed in her freezer! So was up to midnight with that and cleaning up the mess. Just hoping for an uneventful day today! Maybe a trip to recycle center to get rid of cardboard and such and bag up what doesn’t go there from the mess I made. Not a fun way to clean out a freezer! Oh, and waiting for more news from my sister on her SIL possibly having to evacuate her home from the fire out in CA. She’s apparently in a pretty hot zone for it. She’s loaded her RV and is waiting and watching. So that’s it for me! Thanks for listening to me whine! Hope for a better day today and hoping you all have a good day!

Still in bed live streaming my church service. Missing church and the golf cart parade which are in the same neighborhood. :(

My friend gave me one of her special brownies yesterday. She said to just eat a little bit so I took one bite around 8:30. By 10:00 last night I was feeling pretty loopy so I went to bed. I still had some discomfort overnight but no spasms like the night before and I slept very good. A little soreness in my lower back now but not too bad.

Hoping I can get a few things done around here today. It will be cooler today in the 80's. Was chilly overnight. I turned off the AC but kept my bedroom window closed and it still was cool in my room but felt good. Hope I can keep the AC off for most of the day with just the windows open.

Tomorrow and Tuesday, I will be working at a different shop a little closer to home. I ordered a new trimmer, clipper and shears and they will be here today so I don't need to get my other stuff from my shop to bring with me. That saves me a trip today and gas. Will need to bring my pain relievers and muscle spray with me tomorrow since I will be working an 8 hour shift. No brownies at work!

Enjoy your Sunday, rain or shine!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Hope your relative is able to evacuate safely, and that this terrible fire passes her home by. It is an extremely bad situation out here in California - with no rain in sight, and warm to hot temperatures predicted to continue.

There are two major fires currently burning here - one in Southern California (the Tick Fire) and one in Northern California (the Kincade Fire).

I just posted on the Kincade fire - anyone interested, please check out this thread: http://womenrv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=17910

Barbie, I'm relieved to hear you only took one bite of the Brownie. Mel learned early that if one bite helps it doesn't mean eat the whole Brownie it will be better! He sent his sister some of his capsules, admonishing her to only take 1/4 capsule (they were frozen oil so easy to cut). She took the 1/4, waited 30 min, as she couldn't feel much, and took the rest, ending up on a very uncomfortable high and threw the rest away rather than follow directions! :?
It's a windy Sunday here. Watching fire news. Stay safe everyone.

Yes, she warned me that it could take up to 3 1/2 hours to work so not to get impatient and eat more. Just that bite was more than enough. Sure brought back memories of smoking pot when I was a teenager!
