Last Friday of October

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Last Friday of October

Postby Colliemom » Fri Oct 25, 2019 7:47 am

Morning gals. Another month about to slid away. Halloween’s a comin this week and the usual forecast of Cold weather is falling into place, even some snow thrown in

Velda, congrats on the quilt. There is a group that does that here too. A lot of vets here getting quilts. One who received one last year, just turned 100 years old this fall. Tina, glad you enjoyed your trip to Scotland and visiting the Horse Park with Cheryl. Now off to a dog show too. You certainly don’t let the grass grow under your feet :) Yep Barbie, dental work sure doesn’t come cheap. I just had to have a crown removed from one tooth as a cavity was starting to form. Has a temp cap, waiting for new crown. To the tune of a bit over $1500. I don’t mind going though as my dentist office is really up to date technologically and I know that will keep my teeth in as good shape as possible. Shelia, safe travels south.

Looking like a nice day coming up, so will take advantage of it and do some leaf blowing out there. Maybe even clean the gutters. But first, couple errands and meeting with lawyer to finalize new Will and POA’s for Health Care changes. More green out of pocket, but necessary stuff. Weekend looking pretty good too, so may be time for color tour along the Lake Michigan shoreline. The lakeshore areas always peak later than those inland. Maybe time for a Cider stop too. No,not the hard stuff ;) , tbe real stuff.

Have a nice day everyone :D

Good morning Sue and all who follow.
It has been a long while since I have posted here. Glad to say I am back. Lots has changed for me, all for the better. Spending lots of time with family in Alberta Canada. My two granddaughters are growing like weeds and they are so much fun to be with. They are both in school now. How time flies.
I have decided to try something new to me this Winter. I am taking a break from driving cross continent to Florida and will be exploring Southern Arizona. A friend of mine and I took a 3 week trip in Nevada in September. We had a blast, and not having visited before we found that there was so much to see and do. I feel very comfortable in my decision to stay west. My base will be south of Casa Grande halfway between Phoenix and Tucson. This will give me the opportunity to use the car for exploring.
I know I will make many new friends and hope to meet some of you in Quartzsite in January.
That is it for now. Have a great day.

Brenda, please be in touch. I'll be in the Casa Grande area for a few days at least as I move around the state. And I'll be in Q in January. I know we'd all love if you could stay or at least visit with us there. Check out the Gtg room for that thread.

Temps went down overnight here so that it was below freezing when I awoke. So I'm still lying in bed. Both my weather apps say over 32 now... And it's sunny, so I'll be up and moving shortly. I'm just a fair weather fan. It'll be a beautiful day today. I'll drive to my casita and I know I'll have tons to do there. Remember I had everything moved from my prior lot to this one. I doubt there's any organization to it. Fun fun fun. Or I could be pleasantly surprised. Either way I'll be, hopefully, glad I made the change. I know Ty will be happy for his desert runs.

As for dentists, I'm very happy with my dentist in Mexico. I should have made plans to see him this fall, but, too much else to do. I did discover lots of that "up-to-date" equipment is just a means to charge more. Imho. Yes, some is worthwhile, but some just is expensive toys. A cavity appearing under a crown occurs because air, etc is getting under. With all the crowns I have, I try to be very diligent brushing and flossing. Still can happen.

I am still at my son's house using his driveway. Yesterday had regular doctor appt and motorhome is in service today getting part installed so refrig will work on propane. Works on electric now but needed part. Also getting oil change and satellite fixed so my rear bedroom TV will work on new receiver. Whew!!!

Next week, I have three doctor appts and the following week will fly to Eugene to see doctor there. And then back here for colonoscopy and another doctor appt. I should be in terrific condition when I am done with shiny, clean teeth!! Except I don't have dental insurance either and am worried about a big bill. $$$$$$$$$

Enjoying my grandkids, but boy they grow fast. Got work to do, so not much time to chat. Nice to see people are making plans for next year.

Good morning gals!

Tick Fire still burning out of control in north LA. So sad as at least 6 homes have burned there so far. 4300 acres now at only 5% containment. Over 50,000 evacuations so far. The Santa Anna's will be blowing hard thru out the day.

Going to the dentist in an hour or so. Not sure what will be more painful, the work on my teeth or the bill.

On Tuesday, our community is having a Halloween party. One of the back streets is being closed off, and food, etc will be offered. I guess it is a lot of fun so will be interesting to see what all takes place. It is also a welcome party for the snowbirds who have already arrived. Will be able to meet a lot of new people. I can't find my Halloween costume I have from years ago, so I threw together a black cat costume.

Have a good afternoon! :D

Oh boy, not a good day so far...

Went to the dentist. Waited an hour before they finally took me in (with an appointment). They took ex-rays of my teeth and then brought me to a "room" (more like a cubicle) to wait to have my teeth cleaned. While I was laying on the reclining chair, I moved a little bit and had a shooting pain in my lower back! No matter which way I moved, more shooting pain! I was able to get up from the chair but standing upright caused more pain. It was bad! :o I told them that I would need to leave because there was no way I was able to get back in the chair without more pain. They rescheduled me for next Friday. I hobbled out of there having pain with every step. Driving wasn't too bad but getting out and into the house was painful. Not sure if I pinched a nerve or pulled a muscle or what. I was going to take some ibuprofin but figured I should eat something first so I opened a new box of cereal. I took a knife to cut the plastic bag and the knife slipped and slit my fingertip pretty bad. Got a band-aide on that and ate some cereal, took the Ibuprofin and was able carefully to lay down on my bed, where I am right now. If I find the right position, I am good, but as soon as I move a certain way(s) even slightly, more shooting pain.
Getting old sucks!

Found my heating pad so will lay on that for awhile and see if that helps.

Wow! You had quite a trip to the dentist, and you still do not know about your teeth. Hope the heating pad helps.

I got ex-rays taken and was waiting to get my teeth cleaned and see the dentist. I had to leave before that happened.

... Little did I know it would be my back instead!!

I am feeling a little better now but am being very careful. Mostly hurts now when I get up from laying or sitting, and bending over to reach something. Not quite the sharp stabbing pain either but makes me still go "owie, owie, owie!!" :(

I found a co-worker to take my shift tomorrow so I will have a couple days to get better.

Barbie, I certainly hope tomorrow is a better day for you.

I'm at my new-to-me casita. I always second guess my decisions but as soon as I got here and looked at my view, which is why I wanted this site, I was glad about my decision.

After a few snafus I got the maintenance manager here and discovered why I had no water on the casita. And we discovered a leak at the connection of water to the rv connection so that got fixed, too. Then he cut off an electrical connection that I asked about... That's inside and he's not supposed to do work inside, but he knew it's my first day at this site and said that should have been caught before the sale /exchange. It was from a light fixture and he's going to come by Monday and get the fixture reinstalled and working properly. I called for the propane company to bring a big tank for the casita.. Looks like I'll get it next Friday. By then hopefully I'll have everything inside clean and will be able to test out the shower. Just because I have it lol

Ok I gained an hour today since Arizona doesn't change time... I'm exhausted. Ty's been sleeping forever. Much smarter than me. Night all.

I must have posted at the same time as Beth because mine isn't there... and do I have the memory or energy to rehash it probably not ... now everyone can be curious of what I did post...that didn't appear...
I am in Ogden Ut will be here 5 days at least hopefully no longer... have an appointment for the truck to get it's oil changed and they always do a good check over... when I got the truck it's running boards were in the back of the truck and have for various reasons never got put on... they tried couldn't figure it out I even called the last owner and asked if by chance he gave me the wrong ones... he said he gave me what he took off.. my thoughts were why did you take them off??? but he is probably a tall cowboy (he preformed in the rodeo's) but still why???? this year I brought them with me to see if I could find anyone that could put them on... had the thought today that perhaps they could while having the truck up on the lift can ask all they can say is don't have time or sure Aunt Sheila!!! be happy too... right???
you all have a good day

I edited two pics of the view into the post. As for the casita... I'll show it after I clean, etc. It's nothing fancy and I don't intend to do a lot since I won't be here that much for now, but will attempt to organize, etc.

Having been to the Escapees in Benson Beth, I recognize exactly where your casita is located in the park from walking my pups by there. Wonderful site and view. I’m sure you’ll get things all set up soon. Have fun making it “yours.”
