Restful Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Restful Monday

Postby JudyJB » Mon Oct 21, 2019 2:10 pm

I woke up this morning to my alarm at 9:00 am, and thought about having to drive all day today and tomorrow and part of Wednesday to get to my son's house on Wednesday afternoon. It has been a long 12 days of driving and the last week or so without any rest days. Last night the left side of my back was really sore from the shingles and I just could not get relief even from opiod pain meds. So, I just said to myself that I could not do it again today. I only have 570 miles to go, so I decided to stay here one more night to rest up and then drive one very long day and one slightly long day on Wednesday. I think that will be easier.

The decision was made even easier by the fact this was a COE campground and I am on a paved lot with almost no one around, and cost was only $10, so I went back to sleep and am here for another night. The shingles are really faded and just tiny scabs, but this pain is still around. It feels like someone hit me on the right side of my back and the pain goes around the side to the front. Some days it is not too bad, but last night was agony. I am getting low on pain meds, but luckily I see my internist on Thursday so I can get more. Whew!

Anyway, got papers to grade but I can sit to do that. Hope most of you also have a restful Monday, even those of you who are still working!

Judy, I'm so glad you decided to take a down day. This has to have been a terrible drive for you.

I also slept in today. I woke up to early, before 6, so convinced myself to go back to sleep and did. Hopefully I'll be able to see the night sky tonight and maybe see Halley's Comet. I should have the dark sky here.

Last night I went to bed at 9:30 :o , fell asleep just after 10, and slept til 10:30 this morning! Must have needed it! I never get sleepy that early at night!

Put my pumpkin out. I don't carve them. I have a cat kit with a ceramic cat face, ears, arms and feet with tail that stick into the pumpkin. Have used that for many years and it is really cute! Don't have to make a mess that way and the pumpkin lasts for a month! Easy, peasy!

Put the new cover on my golf cart. It doesn't fit perfect but will work. My cart is designed more like a car than a typical golf cart so the cover is a little off because of the hood on the cart but it does the trick and will keep the dust and future rain off it. I have someone coming out on Thursday to look at the battery situation.

Trying to get some ambition to work on the kitchen (organize more and clean). Need to go out and get more kitty litter and stop at the camper to drop some things off there.

Decided to add some photos on here I just took...

the color of the address numbers and lizard is the color I want to paint the trim around the windows on the porch and maybe the shutters on the two windows that have them.
Image

the fence headboard in front of my shed. Need to cut the legs down some and maybe paint it to show up better. I have some fake ivy wrapped around it for now. Will move my bike to a different spot later but for now it is locked to a large eye screw in the concrete that I found there.

seating area on my deck...

a small table and chairs on the deck...

the grass came back nice and green except for a strip right in front of my patio. Will have to ask them to work on that.
Image

My beautiful weeping willow tree! The one I asked them not to touch when they were trimming (butchering) trees around here last month! Needs a little trimming around the trunk now tho.

This sculpture was brown and faded so I painted it teal and took some sandpaper to bring thru some of the brown for texture.

Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

like them Barbie... it's looking so pretty...... don't know if we could have seen the comet up here or not but with the cloud cover if we could we won't...
got up and went to quilt and came home to the truck working yea!!! son in law hooked the batteries up to a charger so didn't need to take it for a drive but tomorrow will need to go regardless whether the Journey is ready or not they hadn't called to say come get it... it's really takes awhile to get taken care of there...
so will hope it's ready tomorrow so we can make one trip do for both... I need to get the shepherd's hook picked up
and a couple of other stops think I will get the one tank filled so that I have it when I get to Utah...
so tomorrow I want to get dolls packed up vacuum dishes and trip to Rexburg then Wednesday will go to mom's Thursday the rest of the stuff go to the cemetery and Friday leave... that is the plan will hope all goes as needed

I like the color you chose, Barbie. I hope they approve it.

My best intentions to watch the night skies I don't think will happen. I was out with Ty just now and nothing happening and I'm just plain tired. Maybe if I wake during the night I'll go out again for a bit. I know the really late night... 4 to 5 in the morning is said to be the best, but then I would have to convince myself to go out in the cold lol ... Ok, when young, I would have stayed out all night... Times have definitely changed.
