Back to your toad question from earlier. I went 5 years without a toad fine. Because I needed a separate vehicle when I workamped Amazon, I got a toad in 2010. I sold it 2 years ago and have been without again. I find it much more freeing in some ways without, but a couple weeks ago fell into a deal for a 2016 they can be towed all wheels down, so here I go again lol. It can be done either way but without one you have to be willing to take your rig to do things. With one you can be limited occasionally. That said, I was able to do either. And it will be nice to have a car that gets about 37 mpg to drive around in. It doesn't really change how I travel. It does for others.
