Last Friday of September

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Last Friday of September

Postby Colliemom » Fri Sep 27, 2019 7:11 am

Morning y’all. Seems like it was just the last Friday of August on now October is on the horizon. Another year will be gone before we know it  Time seems go fly when we get older.

Been a little bit busy here this week in between rains. Lake effect rain showers are pretty much the norm when cooler air settles over us. Gaylord broke a record for Sept. 23rd with 2.65 inches of rain this past weekend. Here where I am, we had 1.93 and it has rained almost every day this week at one point or another. Was nice on Tuesday, so blew pine needles off the grass and mowed the backyard which doesn’t take long. Put a box of leftover over paints out by the road here and about half is gone now. People going by for neighbors garage sale took them. My way of getting rid of leftover paints I no longer need or want. Going to put my patio table out there tomorrow with a price on it and see if I get takers. Cleaning out unused stuff.

Yesterday was supposed to have been more rain showers, but turned out pretty nice instead. So decided to winterize my trailer, wash, cover and park it for the winter. Between the weather and upcoming appts., decided to end the season. Just have to take out the battery, cover the spare tire/bumper area and the front A frame area. It was a great camping season this year and ended on a great note, so I’m happy.

Barbie, I agree about today’s country music. Too much rock and same old getting into it. I much preferred the “old days”. Guess we are getting like our parents and lamenting about the “good old days” we grew up with

As to the RV lifestyle changing our lives, I find that I live at home like I do in my trailer. Nothing around but what I use. I take quick showers st home too. Do my dishes by hand rather than use the dish washer. Uses a lot less water especially for what few dishes I have each day.

Guess this is enough jabbering. Should get moving. Need to go to town. Not sure where this day is going yet. But do have to put away stuff in garage from yesterday’s work bee. Have a nice day everyone. Stay safe if on the roads.

Good morning Sue and Everybody who follows, from sunny and hot Hilo, Hawaii. I did a tour of Volcano National Park yesterday and learned that the Hawaiian chain of islands was created by a hot spot. Each of the islands spent millions of years over the hot spot and gradually moved to the northwest. The Big Island is now over the hot spot and is continuing to grow. Last year’s lava flow added acres of new beaches on the south side. I have three more nights in Kona before heading home. Enjoy today. Peggy

It’s still morning somewhere! I just got home from getting my hair cut and it’s a sunny day! I’m getting Lola loaded to get ready to leave for Benezette tomorrow. I’m meeting up with Kelly (elk river rats) for a couple of days. It’s still rutting season for the elk so looking forward to seeing and hearing them. And spending a couple of days just enjoying the area and good company. It will probably be my last trip for this season. Thinking that it’ll be time to winterize and cover Lola soon. I’ll be busy trying to keep up with raking and whatnot soon so hate to plan trip and then leave knowing it’ll all be here when I return! Kinda sad wasn’t it, Sue? You had a good season this year! Plus they are planning to tear up the road out front of my house to put in a new water main. That’s going to difficult for me to get in and out of my driveway plus I’ll need to be here in case they replace the connection to my house. As a homeowner it would normally be on me to repair from house to connection but they’ll replace it for me as part of their project. Saves me a bunch of money so need to be available. I’m not sure if they need to come into the house to do it but don’t want to chance it! The other thing the water company fellow told us is that since this is a state road Penndot is considering making them so part of the work from 11 pm to 7 am to avoid traffic jams on the curve by my house. Jack hammers and all! Oh joy! Interesting sleeping and I know Rascal will be upset by the noise during the night so that’ll keep me awake. Since the line is 85 years old it’ll be a small price to pay. They had a break across from me last winter so it needs to be done. Not to mention other breaks they’ve had. Maybe I need to go camping those nights! Been watching the weather out west and looks like a big snow coming. Hope you all in the areas predicted to get it stay safe. Crazy when so many are still in the high heat! We are warmer here then “normal” for the time of the year. I did notice today that more trees are starting to change around town. So will enjoy what we can have. Hope you all have a great week end!

Been busy patching my gutters where the seams leaked. We will see if this works. Supposed to get rain this weekend so good test.

I am pretty ticked off at Directv. We lost the Fox, CW, and now CBS channels. Fox I ordered an over the air antenna and it came yesterday. I didnt have much faith that this would work as I tried a cheapy one once before and reception was not consistent. I hooked this one up just now and I get 19 channels. ABC NBC CBS FOX. I am cancelling Directv when I get back from my camping trip. I am just ecstatic with the picture on all the channels. I have Hulu, Amazon video, and Netflix so dont think I will suffer too much. I am going to get basic cable $45 month ( cheaper than Hulu live tv ) and bundle it with my internet so I will save $100 a month....yippee.

I have Direct and so far still have CBS I will be really ticked if that goes away as it's about the only network station that I watch...
this turned into a do nothing day and why I don't know just couldn't talk myself into doing anything... dragged out the material for the quilt and it sits there on the chair... need to trim some off of it so it's the same size as the bottom... there is a way of doing a quilt (one that is tied) where you pretty much put it together inside out and pull it through a opening in one of the ends it's called birthing a quilt which is what I plan on doing first I need to turn the edges a 1/4 inch and iron the edges which I will do as I am ironing it but that sounded like more than I wanted to do today
I did read reviews on a inverter generator brand name Predator the reviews sounds good so think Monday I will go get it my dd says why wait till Monday well cause I have more money then some times they are nice and deposit it early not this month though or I would go tomorrow.. it's a 3500 so hopefully it will be big enough for what I need and it's on sale ends on the 30th so need to not delay much longer as the 30th is Monday

Made it just in time for last call!

I actually got stuff done today! Got up fairly early and went to Curves. Then came home and started in on my bathroom. Cleaned it all, got some more stuff put away, and then did some repair work on the wall behind the toilet tank where the counter shelf was removed and exposed the wallpaper that hadn't gotten painted. I got matching paint and covered that area up. Then I put together a small cabinet I had bought to put where the counter shelf was (but up higher so I can get to the tank if needed). I didn't put it up yet since I need to drill holes for the screws to go into the wall to mount it on. Then I cleaned up the litter box area by the front entry (I don't use that door). Finally got some box liners and a new litter box so hopefully that will help keep it all cleaner now and less smelly. (Lola is still going back and forth with diarrhea and more solid stools). Tomorrow will be getting the kitchen cleaned up and re-organized, and do laundry. Sunday I will tackle the living room. I have people saying they want to come by and see my place so I need to have it look a lot better than it does now. Also want it all done soon so I can go play when I am off work instead of having all this looming and forever on my to-do list.

I plugged in my golf cart today to charge up the batteries and left it plugged in for about 5 hours but the battery never came up any (it is about half way). Not sure if I did something wrong or what the problem is. Will have to ask someone around here who knows about golf carts. I have read that you are supposed to plug them in every night and others say to let the batteries drain down all the way before charging. I only use it once or twice a week so haven't needed to charge it since I bought it and it is still only half way down. They are all new batteries.

I am thinking about leaving Curves and going to Planet Fitness. It will cost half as much per month and they offer the same circuit workout that Curves does and so much more. Plus PF is open 24 hours. I have a hard time getting to Curves 3 times a week because of the few hours they are open, and with my work schedule it makes it hard to get there as often as I would like.

I was supposed to go see a free tribute band tonight at the casino across the road from here with two of my friends but they are both suffering from allergies tonight so they canceled.

I also designed and ordered new business cards for hair cutting. Can give these out to people here at the park.

Good-night!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
