First Day of Fall

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

First Day of Fall

Postby Colliemom » Mon Sep 23, 2019 8:37 am

Good Morning on this cool and damp first day of fall. At least on the calendar it is anyway. Meteorologically it started Sept. 1st. Looking like it around here too. Trees are still green, but a branch here and there are starting to show some color, the bracken (ferns) have turned brown, there are some leaves falling off trees here and there and the pine trees are doing their fall needle shedding.

Karen, you gave me a laugh yesterday about doing outside work but not like I do. I actually have not been doing much out in the yard other than just maintenance. Things are pretty much where I want them now. Do want to do a little something around the base of my flagpole, but first want to get a new flagpole. Probably won’t happen till next spring as need some dry weather for the cement to set. Like you, gotta cleanup the yard a bit from shedding pine needles etc. put some things away for the winter etc., and eventually clean out the flowerbeds. But things haven’t died off yet. Need to winterize and cover my trailer yet too, but kinda hoping for maybe one last trip to the U.P. For fall color. Weather and a potential State gov’t. Shutdown will be the determine factor for that.

Beth, won’t be much longer and you will be a lady of leisure for a few months. I’m sure you will be glad to be on the road again. Tina, will be thinking of you next week. Hope you have a fabulous trip. Barb, glad to hear Lola seems to be feeling better.

Guess I should get my act together and be off to town. Not sure what I will get into today, but my truck needs a good cleaning so might get into that. Unless it decides to rain some more. Have a wonderful day everyone.

Good morning
Big rainstorm this morning,,, actually was on my way to work and had such a hard time seeing as the wipers couldnt keep up even on high! Also such poor street lighting made it even mire difficult. Fussing with my car alot lately, the anti theft door lock thingy wont reset so if it sits too long the little flashing light runs the battery down. Still researching a fix procedure, there are a few ways to do it. Just havent tried them all. Really dont want to spend the money to have the dealer to do the reset. It should be very simple! But i do feel its not needing just a reset as the locking door licks when it goes in drive doesnt work anymore as well as the steering wheel lock. Little frustrated when i cant figure simple stuff out.
Anyone heard from Carolb? I texted her a happy birthday but got no response, makes me worry, i hope shes ok.
Guess i will get my nap and then go back to work. Ya'll have a great day.

Hi Sue, Alice & everyone!

Sue, I hope you're able to get out for another camping trip, but understand the need to watch the weather and state government shut down. I enjoyed seeing you with your friends on FB.

Alice, I talked to Carolb this morning and she's good. She enjoyed a birthday celebration yesterday with family.

Tina, I'm so excited for you! I love the backpack you bought! What a neat idea!

Steve & I are on the downhill slide of our big trip and are currently in Hammond Louisiana and leaving tomorrow for the Pensacola area and then to Marianna, in the panhandle, for a few days. I'll be playing in church Sunday, so need to get my keyboard out and practice. We'll arrive in Ocala Saturday, so have lots of things to do before then.

Be safe, wherever you are!
