Late Thursday

Not only did I sleep in, but I spent an hour making and freezing crepes, and still no one has started the morning coffee!

So, here it is.

Speaking of aprons and wearing old shirts backwards, when she got into her late 70s, my mother adopted the habit of wearing large terrycloth adult bibs when eating. She even took them to restaurants because who cares??? My aunt got her the first ones at a craft fair and they were definitely adult because of the designs on them.

I have already been to Lafayette and back again. We are getting the fringes of the storm in Texas. Just enough rain to make things messy again.

CC pulled the bathroom curtains down and pulled one of the brackets out of the wall. They were past needing to be washed but I didn't want to have to fix them. It is so humid that there is condensation on my storm doors and it looks like there are mold spots growing. I just cleaned the doors about a week ago. I guess I need to try something with bleach in it to kill the mold.

My sister and I saw some adult bibs in Walmart one time and we were laughing about them. We should have each bought one. The Louisiana camping group has a big Christmas campout and party each year. Every year there is an item chosen for the gift for everyone to bring. One year it was soup bowls, one year it was socks, last year it was calendars and this year it is aprons. I have already found one with flamingos on it. I just hope I can find it again for Christmas.

The restaurant I went to Tuesday had beef rib soup on the menu so I looked up a recipe on line. I have a big pot of soup cooking. I am missing one of the seasonings so don't know if it will be like the restaurant. I will have to try their's sometime.

Martha, I suggest vinegar... "Bleach and vinegar can both kill mold, but vinegar is much more effective for removing mold from porous materials. This is because bleach only kills mold spores on the surface of affected materials. Vinegar will penetrate porous materials and kill the mold at the roots."

The rv got an oil/filter change. I knew I needed one bulb, but they discovered another, so all my lights are back working.

I had a bunch of errands planned but one thing not planned took a couple hours so skipped the others.

Judy, I don't care much for appearances anymore. I would have liked your mother's bibs.

Dover Airforce Base Spouses Club has a big craft show every November. I will certainly be looking for adult bibs. Much easier to wash than ratty old sweatshirts.

My mothers did not have a vinyl backing and worked fine. More easily washable, also.

Hey, Shirl, have your gotten your potatoes to brown in the air fryer? This was my dinner tonight, all cooked in the air fryer.


And while I was writing this post Ty called me to look out the window. I saw at least 10 turkeys across from my rig. Here's some of them.

Judy, those are a little pricy, Amazon had more bang for your buck. I did look. I’m not wearing anything that advertises “for elderly “I hate that word.

Judy, I agree, I’m just kidding. I will shop for the bibs, good idea. I never had to look presentable to get the mail when I lived in the country. Now I don’t know who I will run into on the elevator. Can’t help the wrinkles but not wearing food stained tee shirts.

survived the dr's appointment with my mom...we parked in the wrong area and had to walk forever which I need to do but it was very tiring for mom..then to add to the walk even though we didn't get on the elevator to get to the right floor we took the elevator went down and walked and walked till we came to stairs will that isn't a doable so back to the elevator up to the floor we went and sat mom on a chair and I went to get the car and move it to a more doable spot...took the elevator down and turned left instead of right been right it wasn't right so left had to be right and it was this took me out the door to the parking area that we should have parked in.... and construction so had to find the way around the building up stairs and to the parking lot where the car was then to move the car to the right parking lot... saw the sign we missed had we seen it would have been much easier on mom... then off to lunch wanted BK but at 11 thought wouldn't find it.. so burgers sounded good the place didn't open till 11:30 so we went to Chinatown... always good and always a good parking spot that is something one has to consider... then home she was so tired... but the appointment went well... she isn't having any of the problem things like swelling heavy chest fainting ect... he did say she could have the valve replaced through the vein but I really think she doesn't want to she is almost 93 I think it would be too worrisome for everyone. wants her to take her iron she doesn't want to it makes her constipated he said even if its just a few times a week would be better than none... awfully hard to get enough iron in food to help... she doesn't eat a lot... she needs to return in 6 months so all in all it was a good visit... she rested a lot I watched tv and worked on counting off my Swedish Weave... you have to find the center so it takes counting and re counting to find that spot...
have one more step on the afghan and it's done just cutting the fringe down to a good length...
guess I need to turn on the heat cooling down...
