Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Mornin' ladies~~~

Still in Michigan's UP and wasting time before heading to the Soo Locks today. Saw Sue a few times and she is heading home today over the Mackinac Bridge. I'll be doing that Friday, if the winds aren't bad. Fall-ish temps, but supposed to have a warm spell this week.

That's it from me. Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning, now parked in Pechanga Casino in Temecula, awaiting the next wedding. Will wear the same clothes to this wedding that I wore to last weeks wedding.
Drove through Los Angeles on Friday. What a mess...took 3 hours...I was exhausted. I hope to NEVER drive through LA again!
I will be glad to get home tomorrow.

I grew up in the L.A. area - Granada Hills. At that time a small northern suburb encroaching on the orange groves. My parents bought a new home there, and my father commuted to his job "downtown".

Have Googled my old home a time or two over the years, just for a walk down memory lane - the neighborhood is now a bit slum-y, and run down. Very much "big city" now, with any hint or taste of the rural long gone.

I have mostly never gone back, and avoid L.A. pretty much at all costs. Sorry to hear you had to travel through there.

I totally avoid southern California, in fact I dont go south of Sacramento LOL I grew up in Huntington Beach and it is NOTHING like it was when I lived there. I even went to move back there 25 years ago and I lasted 3 months. Was so glad to get to northern California. My choice wasnt the best...Redding, no one told me how hot it got there but I lasted 10 years before moving back to Oregon just barely over the CA/OR border and I love it here. The weather is perfect for me, 4 seasons, not super crowded and easy access to I-5.

Will be heading south to Redding the end of the month for the Pow Wow GTG. Hoping the weather will be as good as FALL.

Lyn, unfortunately, there is no way to go north without having to go thru LA because of the mountains. I hate driving into LA. When I bought my trailer, I had to go thru LA and was a nervous wreck. It was a Saturday so not as busy as a weekday, but traffic is always bad anyways. That is why I usually take the mountain route between San Diego and Palm Springs area. Prettier and less traffic.

Need to get going here, stop for breakfast and head to my brother's place. I slept good last night!

Have a good day!

I do my best to stay away from SoCal traffic too.

I saw this today and immediately thought of Lyn. Ha-ha-ha. There are are others who think like you, Lyn.

I had a good day. :D

Stopped at the Pancake House next door for breakfast. I spent 7 hours with my brother and his wife. David looks very thin and much older than his 73 years and doesn't get around very well since he is weak. He is still wearing his neck brace from when he broke his neck a few months ago. He seems very depressed and refuses to do much of anything. Julie tries to get him out with her for dog walks and other things but he never wants to go. He gets mad if she pushes too much. She has her hands full with him. He took several naps while I was there, but we had good conversations while he was out with us. I gave him a haircut and shaved off his beard. Because of the neck brace, Julie hasn't been able to get that done but we were able to take off the brace for a few minutes so I could get the back of his head and his beard clippered and shaved down. He looks much better! Had a great conversation with Julie too. We have a lot in common. The wedding wasn't brought up so I am hoping that is all in the past now. I hope they will stay in touch with me more often now.

I stopped at Papago Park which is a very pretty park with ponds and big round red rock formations with lots of small "caves" in them. I didn't climb them but took some pics.

Just relaxing now. I was thinking about perusing the stores in Old Town Scottsdale tomorrow before leaving town but forgot I have Lola with me and need to be checked out of the motel before 11am. I can't go shopping with her in the car so will have to do that another time. Will save me some money too  . So will head back home earlier than I had planned but that is OK.

I got back from my campout this afternoon. We had a good time and the weather was nice but too hot. We didn't do much but eat and visit because it was so hot. A few went bike riding. I know too many women that have had bike accidents so I think I'll stick to walking. The park we were at has nice walking trails but I'm not walking in 98 degree weather. I got my clothes and the refrigerator unloaded.

Two of the kittens look like they have what their sister had so moved them to "Sick Bay" in the living room and started giving them medicine. All the older cats are healthy so don't know what they could have come down with.

I would like to take a trip and not have something go wrong. The microwave went out. I think it got too hot and wouldn't turn off. I couldn't open the door so had to turn the electricity off to get it to stop. Then it wouldn't work at all. The motorhome is going in at the end of the month for the generator so will call tomorrow to see if they can replace the microwave too.

made lemon chicken today... turned out really good I thought... wondering if the fried chicken would freeze well if it would I would be tempted to make some of the chicken before it's put in the sauce and freeze it in small servings.... and put it in my mom's freezer then she could pull it out and heat it up and put it into some sauce of some kind sweet and sour or whatever...the way of doing it was different but the coating turned out not a heavy coating.
other than that it was a Sunday church and nap and then fixing supper... want something perhaps that candy bar that ended up at the house never to be found again haha shouldn't want anything full but....
going over to mom's tomorrow and then it looks like on Thurs... she has a cardiologist appt on Thursday
not sure that I am adult enough to go with her
would love to be in Peggy's luggage right now or in that carry on that Tina is going to do .... on the other hand she would
never get it into the over head
we are doing a family (well part of the family) Thanksgiving weekend Disneyland ect... the kids actually thought that I would
drive over I suggested that I drive to Vegas and ride with someone from there... we will see what I end up doing but driving to where ever that town is probably isn't in the books...
Thought of Sharon this weekend think she is still in Ohio but something was mentioned about CA and Helmet was where evacuated people were going...

The fire near Hemet is a ways east of town close to where the fire was last year so Sharon and Evie should be fine. No evacuations with that fire. There is another fire a ways south of there that had evacuations yesterday but those have been canceled and that fire is pretty well under control.

Sharon is still back East and I didn't even know there were fires until I read it here! I didn't hear about any evacuations and didn't see any smoke. Actually, we're having near perfect SoCal weather this week - high 80's, low 90's, bright blue skies with puffy clouds and not much wind -- we'll take it! Evie

The fire is near Mountain Center near Idyllwilde where last years fire was. It is headng towards the burn scar so it will run out of stuff to burn.

Thanks for the info, Barbie. I had heard about a couple of small fires in Murrieta or Menifee but I think they were quickly extinguished. I'm guessing this one must be out by now, too. Hope so, that area has had enough to deal with this year!
