need to know what that whatchamacallit is. Clinoid? I am hoping that is what is wrong with the hot water heater.
but it helps to know what to look for....
I do remember Anita helping me change it many years ago perhaps she will see this and remember...

We changed the anode rod. That's not something that would cause your water heater to not work. Sorry.

Sheila you can Google and find several simple things to check regarding it not working on propane.

First you need to see if it works on gas or electric or neither. That will tell you if you have a gas problem, an electrical issue or a control issue. Mine (7 years old) went out this summer on both gas and electric. They replaced the "control card" circuit board and it would light but once it heated up it would not relight. They then replaced the thermostat on the tank and now I enjoy hot water again.

Hope that helps

went out and turned on the hot water heater to the electric start and water heated up so will be ok till I get down to Q while out in the desert I will just heat water on the stove till I can get someone to check it out. at least I don't have to replace a heater.. and depending upon what is the problem may have to heat water on the stove all winter will see.
Thanks for any advice you all had
