Busy Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Busy Thursday

Good Morning on this sunny morning in northern Michigan. Going to be a great day to be outdoors. Looks like scattered showers for tomorrow, so going to get grass mowed today and move my trailer out a bit so I can start getting ready to leave for the U.P. Looks like a great camping week coming up. Was out enjoying the afternoon yesterday with the pups. Took a ride down to Camping World to get new cover for my trailer, some of the pink stuff and new clear attachment for between the sewer connection and sewer hose. Then stopped at one of the State parks on the way home to walk the campground and along the lakeshore. Was such a beautiful day to be out.

Birdie, sounds like you have been having a great trip and seeing so much history. Guess Dorian did you a favor. Barbie, you be careful in that heat.

Gotta get a move on here. Need gas for tractor, so off to gas station. Take care everyone especially any of you along the east coast. That Dorian is sure taking it’s sweet and unpredictable time. I’m sure everybody will be glad to see it gone. The pictures from the Bahamas are just unbelievable. 48 hours of storm left some areas wiped off the map and some not hit as hard. Will be a long slow recovery and a blow to tourism. Will not be the same, that’s for sure. What happens on the east coast remains to be seen.

By the way. Those f you who have Apple devices, beware of an old scam going around again. Caller ID will show it’s from Apple Inc., telling you that your I Cloud account has been breached and to call a number to speak to an Advisor. Don’t answer it or Press 2 as they will leave a message. They are after log ing in and personal info. Been bugging me lately, but I saw right through it as I know Apple doesn’t make calls, so am not answering. Liked it up online and it was going around last year too. They are just getting a little more creative. I don’t answer my phone anymore if it’s a number I don’t recognize. I have an answering machine if somebody really wants to get a hold of me. Started doing that to keep from being bothered by robo calls. They have dropped off dramatically since I started that this year. The neat thing is, I have a phone that captions calls and will print out the call if I am talked ng with someone or the message on the answering machine. I can watch the message being recorded if I am here or read it if I am not. The robo calls/scammers just hang up when they hit the answering machine.

One year ago today, Mel died in the afternoon. Hard to believe it’s been a year, and in some ways it’s gone quickly and in others it’s been slow and tedious. This afternoon we will place a 3 way call between us and my younger son and Mel’s sister. We will each take turns talking about good memories. After, Chris and I are planning to go to Cheesecake Factory for early supper, Mel loved his cheesecake. On the 18th, the day last year he was buried, we will visit the cemetery. And that day will truly complete this first hard year of firsts.
Weather here has been at or near 100 for over a week, but now supposed to drop in to high 80’s and low 90’s at least for a week or so. We too will likely have another heat up before it drops for the season. Last night we spent going through Mel pile of old hard drives and have a box to leave in city truck on the 11th. That clears another space. Regaining space a foot at a time! Slowly Sean, the handyman, is getting the outside in shape. Unfortunately I can’t just snap my fingers and get 43 years of clutter and neglected maintenance of nearly a decade gone and cleaned up, but it’s getting there.
Been thinking of all of you who are in the storm zone, and pray you remain safe.

Good morning all.
Velda seems like this past year went by so quickly - probably not for you though. Take care
and enjoy your memories of Mel and your family.

Topped out at 103 - 104 every day this week at my house.

Velda, glad to know that the coming week will bring cooler temperatures.

A beautiful morning here - tossed the ball for Joe, sat outside in the plastic chair for a while, just zoning out, looking up at the wisped-cloud blue sky. Just the first hint of coolness in the air.

The neighbor's trees are beginning to show the first yellowing of the leaves.

God, I love the Autumn. It is my favorite time of year.

Not quite here, yet - but coming soon.

Am sad to see that the Santa Rose Plateau Preserve got hit by the fire overnight. :( Fire is still raging in that area, but luckily no homes have been burned.

Am being lazy this morning and am still laying in bed. Need to get moving shortly and get ready for work.

Sounds like the sale of my dad's house may be falling thru. I still wonder if my dad is still trying to protect his house, from the Other Side! Lol!

Have a good day and stay safe and cool! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I worked on projects today... my three rows.... for a moment I thought I'd miss counted and was down to one last set of three and the border but no such luck but am down to not that many more rows as I call them... 1 section plus the last 3 on this one and the border which as hmmm 7 rows will have to count maybe 6 I added one more row to what the pattern had just liked the looks better... so it's getting done. then I want to get the colors for my nephew's but I am going to work on a Swedish Weave. I want to have a break and have been wanting to do one for brother in law and sister in law.... between the two I will be busy this winter. Also put the first coat of the finish on the treasure box... need to decide if I am going to put the finish on the inside actually think I will but not positive. have to wait 48 hours between coats not sure how many coats either guess it will depend on what it looks like... so much for recovering my table any time soon  it's getting darker earlier and earlier guess fall is coming... which means that I need to start thinking about my timing of when to go south...
Shadow is barking at something the way he is looking have a feeling some creature is in the belly of the trailer... ugh
how they can sense that

Another hot day here. It doesn't look like September is going to be very much cooler. I finally got the yard mowed. Went to town and picked up the piece of roofing I need to replace on the dog kennel. I think I'm going to have to call my son to help me put it up.

Sue, I also get emails that are supposedly from Apple. They keep telling me that they are locking up my account for some reason or other but not happening. I can tell from the email address it's not from apple so just delete them. I wish these people would get a real job. I have an answering machine and won't answer a call unless I recognize the number. If it important they can just leave me a message.

Barbie, hate to hear that the fires have started again.
