Good Morning everyone. Hard to believe that Labor Day weekend is almost here. Where did the summer go? Seems like I just uncovered my trailer and got into camping season, now it will be time to winterize and put it to bed again before long. But first there is another camping trip in my future and if Mother Nature keeps giving us this awesome weather for awhile yet, maybe one last one after that. O’Sharon, I see you are having same thoughts too with weather and camping. And Shelia mentioned it getting cooler in her neck of the woods. Fall’s a coming. And you gals out west are sweltering in high heat. Like Barbie said, the effects of climate change.

Seems a lot of you are having cataract issues at the same time. I’ve Had that surgery done twice over the years, no biggie. But things have changed so much since mine were done. Velda mentioned that needle behind the eye injection, had to go through that one first one. Yes, painful, but it was the only way at that time and then the round of drops after that. Actually, at the time I had first surgery, implants were a new thing I was only in my late 30’s, and since they didn’t know much about the long term implications then, I couldn’t get one, but have a cataract lens in my glasses. Now, maybe it might be possible. But I have gotten along fine thus far, so who knows.

Tina,congrats on all the wins with Josef. Lyn, glad you are up and around, Velda, you are really getting things done and once that rig of yours is in top shape, you will be running all over. Won’t be much longer for you either Beth. Talk of FL and Q popping up more now too. Snowbird time!

Been up near the finger peninsula of Wisconsin since Sunday with Eileen (beazle) and seeing a few sights around Manitowoc and Two Rivers. We'll move a whopping 32 miles further tomorrow and will do the Door County sightseeing from there. Cell service is pretty bad here in the Point Beach SP, but the sites are big and woody. Also nice to see Lake Michigan everyday.

I sure wish we had signs of fall here! Still hot and muggy!

Had a strange thing happen this morning...about 5:30 I got up to go to the bathroom and as I walked out of my bedroom into the kitchen, I collapsed. I didn't pass out but my body just collapsed onto the floor in a split second. No dizziness or blackout feeling, just bam! Not sure what that was all about!! I scraped my knee a little when I hit the floor but otherwise was fine. Never had that happen before.

I got some anti-diarrhea stuff for Lola yesterday and gave that to her last night. There was a little improvement this morning so will continue with that and see what happens. She keeps getting the diarrhea on her feet in the litter box and then tracks it around the house so I have been washing her feet (she hates that!!) and cleaning up her tracks across the floor and on the furniture! Yuck!

Got a few things to do today before heading to work this afternoon.

Barbie, whatever happened to you needs to be addressed. I had something similar, but I did pass out, several times. I'm now on a betablocker and haven't had this happen since then.

Steve and I are moving today to Williams AZ for a week and then we'll go to Gallop New Mexico for a few days. We'll slowly make our way back to Ocala from there.

Things are hot and humid here in north central FL. Glad some of the rest of you are cooler.

This storm is, of course, the big conversation point today. I have decided to go ahead an evacuate. Not knowing isn’t good enough for me. I can remember seeing folks stranded with the rain pouring down and the wind being crazy and they ran out of gas, the kids were crying cuz they left the dog at home and everyone was tired and hungry and the hurricane was 30 miles behind them coming on strong! I just got home from my cardio appointment in OKC, the final before I find a new doctor here in FL. But I emptied the car, have a full tank of gas and will head out Friday morning going North. Would love to go visit RVing Sistahs in LA but “one” of the 500 models say this sucker could visit FL and then go visit folks in MS and LA. So I am thinking TN to visit my friend up there. Not sure what Liz and Bob are going to do, but I need to do what I feel good about. I think the forecasters are crazy on this storm as they started with it being a Category 2 on the East coast. Then up, down and around to a Cat 3, and then about noon they say Cat 4 winds in it now. So....what if....they are wrong and it is a Cat 5 and hit the NE part of FL not the south or SE? I guess I just don’t trust them being a State Newbie! Maybe next time.

Meanwhile, some of you guys are getting cooler with those fronts coming to you. I am packing one pair of jeans and 3 pair of zip off legs-shorts. Maybe a long-sleeved denim shirt and T-shirts! Hey still summer here!

Hope you Cali girls get some relief from that baking heat you are having. 15 degrees will have you reaching for long legs and arms! Everyone be safe. Camping - have loads of fun.

Good decision Birdie! Better safe than sorry! Those hurricanes are very unpredictable and can change course and strength in a hurry. That is why it is so hard for the forecasters to know what to tell people. As long as you have the means and opportunity to go, that is a good idea! Hope others on here follow suit. I heard the storm surges could be very high so could be major flooding. Most deaths occur from the flooding.

I dodged a bullet today! Saw a guy trimming the heck out of my neighbors tree down to practically nothing and then I saw some caution tape around my beautiful willow tree behind my house. I talked to the tree trimming guy and told him I didn't want my tree trimmed like that. He got his boss over and I told him they can just cut one little branch that is touching my house but nothing else. He agreed to do that, luckily. And then I was talking to my new neighbor and she told me she has been watching a dove building a nest in my tree and is laying on eggs there now. I didn't even know that, so I am really glad I was home to stop them from destroying my tree!

Still watching the weather to see what Dorian is going to do. I don't think we will know more until it hits Florida. I sure hope I don't have to move everything to town again. Today is the anniversary of Katrina hitting New Orleans and almost 4 weeks later Rita went on shore on the Texas/Louisiana line. That put 6 ft of water in my old house.

Tomorrow is trash day so I went to the old trailer and filled up a big trash bag. It was 99 today and I got too hot. I think if I go every week and fill up a bag I can get it cleaned up. Can't do much real cleaning until they get the water hooked up. The electric boxes are up but not connected. I am putting up an RV box so I can hookup my motorhome there if I have to. They are going to put a place where I can dump the tanks into the septic tank. I need to see about getting some steps before I fall off the ladder I am using to get in.

I came through a rain storm coming home but it hasn't rained here today, YET. I can hear thunder. I got a little of the yard mowed and came very close to getting the mower stuck.

To be on the safe side you should see a doctor. In January of 2017 the same thing happened to John. We were packing up to leave Yuma, getting the trailer closed up and loading the truck. John decided to take one last bike ride. He had had no breakfast, only a few cups of coffee to drink, was wearing his early morning desert outfit which was denim jeans and a fleece shirt. He took off and pedal about 3 miles and when he got back to the lot he was coming up the trailer steps and ...bam.. he was lying on the ground. He had passed out. I took him to urgent care who transported him by ambulance to the emergency room where he spent the next 8 hours while all kinds of tests were taken. The emergency room doctor was afraid he might have had a blood clot that had moved. All tests were negative and the conclusion was he was dehydrated and over heated. You have been living in some high temps and doing lots of work moving in and arranging your home. Be safe though and see a physician.

I agree, Barbie, see a Dr like right away. What if you do it again and hit your head and your poor kitty is there with you unconscious?!
Well, today the jokes on me. RV tech was delayed due to an employee that got injured, but they finally arrived at 5:00. After gong in and out of the van, checking everything, suddenly he comes over where Ashley (his wife) and I are entertaining their toddler and checking the books for a propane switch which is not mentioned in my manuals. Suddenly he comes over chuckling. He says, found the propane switch, it was off! It's in the electrical cord compartment back 2 inches literally around a corner and up high where you literally find it by Braille if cord is in compartment. I sure didn't recall that switch, after so many years of Mel doing all mechanicals! He checked everything and bled air out of lines. Fridge came on. Heater heats. Stove lights. Water heater lights. And bonus: I said as we stood talking, gee I wonder if that is the generators problem, since it worked before Oregon? He showed me to prime it after not running for two months, then we hit start, and yippee! Generator works. I ran it 30 min with AC to exercise it. By the time I shut off AC Then generator, freezer in fridge was already getting frosty ! So will let fridge run over night to be sure! $154 lesson learned and I've decided MEl is up there having a good laugh! Yes 15 years ago I probably did know where switch was!
And Lyn already got her laugh on this. She reported in from Cal Expo RV park but I was stuck here waiting for tech. so we will get together for breakfast Saturday before she leaves.

Pow Wow suddenly more of a possibility since my pre op isn't until October 18. I need to go back and read that page to see what I need to do as to reservations and where.
Sue, if you are on Medicare, it's possible they will pay for IOLs unless years of being without have contracted or damaged the capsule it goes in. I'd check if it's free, why not.
Well I'm off to fix my late supper ( waiting for my turn with the oven as kid had pizza in)!
Temps dropped below 100 finally by 3 degrees and I see a few golden leaves on the driveway. It's coming but we often have cool then a final warm up for few days in September before it drops for the fall and winter. Been that way my whole life here in California And had summers this hot my entire life too. Nothing new here.

Birdie I'm very glad you're being proactive. I've been upset with a few friends I think are really tempting fate. But I've been sitting on my hands and I certainly hope the storm doesn't do what they say it might. If not I hate to think what trouble they'll have as they are way too close to where it's predicted to do some major damage. I remember heading out of Port Aransas one year when it was missed... But we all know how it was devastated 2 years ago. Luckily all my friends there evacuated but several had to leave their rigs... Which were all totaled. Their lives were most important and they survived.

Enough! I had a wonderful time at a play tonight "Nature". It's a walking play (it's outside and you walk to different areas for various parts of the play). It's about Emerson and Thoreau and I loved it... That said nothing much has changed from then to now and our destruction of the nature around us. Oh, it's being held in Custer State Park... What a perfect place for it!

Barbie, I, too, think you should check in with a doctor. I do think the heat may be involved, but best to find out.

Today is almost over... been getting on the internet a bit later not sure why but what is... went to Rexburg which is the largest town close to us about 48 miles away...thought it was closer but that is what maps says... yea for google...went to a bookstore didn't have the book I wanted helped that I didn't know the name of it will look for that later... walgreens didn't have what I wanted... then to cold stone... haven't been there in forever but was so good just need to remember small not regular!!! and then to the dreaded wal mart...got almost everything and then some... just over looked something on the list oh well I have some dd doesn't will just take mine up.. hoping to make cinnamon rolls tomorrow. Thought it would be a good thing to do... some of the family are coming in for part of the weekend and with the army grandson here thought he may like them.
it was lighting out but think it's away from here will hope so... when I take Shadow out later will need to find Huey and let him in don't want to do it in the rain...

If you don't have reservations in Gallup I can recommend Red Rock CG... A city park. I'll be there meeting a friend a couple nights in October. Beautiful location. I also can recommend the state park outside of Gallup where I'll stay a week or so, weather cooperating, after the time with my friend. It's called Bluewater Lake State Park. I know they have limited water and electric sites, but they do have some you'd fit in. Another beautiful location.
