HOT Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

HOT Sunday

Postby bluepinecones » Sun Aug 18, 2019 9:28 am

Just stopping by to let you know I haven't forgotten about all of you.
Haven't been on much other than to read. Nothing all that interesting to report about my world. Heat index over 100 again today and I'm still dealing with repairs/maintenance on houses. If I decide to brave the heat today, ill go to storage lot and check on Magic.
Hope you have a wonderful day

Good Morning Sarah! Hopefully your heat will let up soon. The West coasters keep kidding about the "but it's a dry heat" however your heat and high humidity really are so much harder to deal with on a continuous basis. At least for me. Hang in there and start thinking about your winter get away.

Nothing going on here... Being a bum today. Ty agrees lol

Morning all!

Hot and super sticky here today, we’re in the path of severe weather today and overnight. Makes me miss our house with a basement, we had a little finished room where we’d go for tornadoes... bring a bottle of wine and the laptop and watch movies. :D

I found this article explaining things interesting:

Here's a heat index calculator:

LOL. I think I better stay out West!!

The comparison chart is awesome. I remember once getting off a plane in Florida and I was covered with sweat and thought I'd die lol. It was only maybe 90 out. Then I was in Vegas and 110 plus and when the heat would get to me walking, I would find a shady spot and my body immediately cooled down. And all this explains why I pick the west over the east and summers over the midwest I grew up in. I grew up not understanding the fires and blankets etc used in movies when cowboys, etc, slept outside. Now I welcome those cool/cold nights.

Stayed at a commercial campground over the weekend because Armitage was full, but I am back at Armitage now. I will be really, really glad to get my stent out on Tuesday. I am taking half of a Norco, but it is making me so sleepy, I can hardly sit in my chair without dozing off. I like sleeping well at night, but I would like to stay awake easier during the day! I have three loads of laundry to do today and tomorrow, so it is nice that I am close to the laundry. One nice thing about this county campground is the three washers and three dryers. Second thing I like is that they let you wash your RV here, so that is on my list for tomorrow.

Other project for next few days is to really clean my kitchen cabinet and drawer front. I got some stain from the paint store on Friday and the guy there tried it out on the edges of one drawer--color was very good. My cabinets and drawers have had wear on the edges from seven years of use, so parts are bare of stain and look terrible. I have tried those stain sticks, but the color was wrong, and it did not stay. I also tried a liquid stain once, but it was the wrong color. I have reached the point where I just can't stand the looks of all the worn edges, and since I am having company in a couple of weeks, I want to get them touched up.

Always a project in this home on wheels!!

Home after a week of camping with my BFF Laura. We had a really good time AND the weather was excellent. Moved inland from the coast on Friday and it was warmer but a nice breeze allowed us to sit outside most of the time. Winds in Coos Bay were 20mph sustained the day we left LOL

We seem to have fixed most things on my rig, my car, and her rig. She still has a couple to conquer but she will get er done I have no doubt.

I hate unloading especially in the heat but got it done, moved the RV over to our storage area, had lunch and now I am collapsed in my recliner. Laundry will wait LOL

We found a great little diner in the small town of Myrtle Creek. Hot Rod Diner. We ate dinner there last night OMG Laura had the rib eye steak for $14 and I have never seen so much steak on a platter, plus a salad bar and potato. I had the Country Fried Steak for $11 HUGE We both brought quite a bit home LOL I will have it for dinner tonight.

Judy, I hope you get the stent or and start feeling better right away!

Karen, that food looks so good... And that's a good thing because you'll be getting another meal out of it.

Last couple of times I had a stent removed, it took about an hour to feel back to normal, so I am very hopeful. It is just a constant irritation. I am having it removed on Tuesday at about 2:00 pm and it will take only a few seconds. Need x-ray just before the stent is removed, but after it is all done, I can fly out of there!! And believe me, I will fly!!!!

Only thing to slow me down is checking on my new glasses. That will take just a few minutes at LensCrafters in the mall and then I head to Collier Memorial State Park. If glasses are not in, they will mail them to my son's house.

I failed to get up in time for church but did watch it live streamed. My mess outside looked worse today. Now that her shed is gone, the stuff was out in the open, so I decided to get out there and work on it. Some of it I got put into the shed. One large box was the small table and chairs I ordered to put out on the porch, so I took all the pieces out and put them on the porch. I will put that together later. Some stuff is junk and heading for the dumpster, and then just have my bike and the cat tree. I might need help getting the cat tree in the porch tho. Otherwise it looks much better out there. I need to get a cover for my bike to keep the dust off it. Everything gets SO dusty here! It was hot out but wasn't too bad to work out there for awhile. After about an hour, I was tired and came in and took a shower.

Now just relaxing. Think I will give myself a pedicure. I need to stop using the glitter nail polish since it is really hard to get off. Back to work tomorrow. I work 4 days this week so will get more hours which is good. Should be really busy too with the haircut sale going thru Friday.

I got home this afternoon from my campout. I have almost 11,000 steps on my counter from unloading and getting everything outside done. I had sweat running in my eyes and had to sit in front of a fan for a while. Four of us stopped at Cracker Barrel for lunch on the way home but the food didn't look as good as the pictures and only about half as much. I still brought some of it home. There was a BBQ place next to Cracker Barrel so I picked up some ribs to bring home. I shouldn't have to cook for a couple of days.

The campout I went to is one of the groups that has "themes" for the campouts. This one was Wild West Saloon Girls. There were about 60 women there and most dressed up last night. It's a closed group or I would share some picture. There were some wild costumes. I don't dress up but just watch the show.

I noticed that Hank has a sore on what I guess you would call his "elbow". I put some salve I have on it but need to find some thing for him to lay on in front of the fan. He gets a dog bed so dirty I was wondering if one of the padded mats you put in front of a sink would be any good. Something like that could be hosed off.

Martha, you could use one of those mats and then if he wants something softer, you could put down a towel which would be easy to wash. That camping group sounds like a lot of fun!

Judy, I hope things will feel much better for awhile after you get that stent removed! That all sounds so painful!! :o

Still going thru all the library books I got the other day. I like to read the intros on them to get more of an idea of what they are about and then decide which one I want to read first. I got 12 books so still working thru the intros! Got lots of reading ahead of me!

Got my pedicure done. Was hoping to frost my hair today too but was too tired for that after working outside. Need to get that done, as I keep plucking my gray hairs!

Good night! :D
