Tuesday the 13th

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday the 13th

Good morning gals!

Was woken up this morning by the lawn mowers and weed whackers. Sounds of summer. :D

My SIL Julie was planning to fly to MN to pick up my brother David and fly with him back to Phoenix. Just found out that she few to MN on Sunday just when my other brother and his wife (he was staying with them) took him to the hospital. He is having a lot of confusion all of a sudden and other signs of severe dementia. They are doing an MRI and giving him Potassium and calcium since his levels were really low. Once he is stable he will go back to transitional care for awhile. Julie flew back to Phoenix to take care of some things down there for now. I just spoke with her. I feel so bad for her. She really has her hands full and now with this setback, she is a mess! :(

I work this afternoon so I need to get a few things done before then. I went to Curves yesterday and then came home and made tuna salad. Haven't made that in a long time and is one of my summer favorite dishes. Made enough to last a couple days. Tomorrow is our weekly dinner out with the neighbors.

Still working on going thru photos of my mountain get-away.

Have a good day! :D

Tuesday-National Filet Mignon Day

Postby Acadianmom » Tue Aug 13, 2019 12:40 pm

It's also National Left Handers Day but I like Filet Mignon better. lol Just another hot day. I am sure we are still under a heat advisory but I couldn't find the remote to turn the noon news on. I am washing all my bedding because one of the cats threw up in the bed. I had 2 water proof pads on the bed so I wouldn't have to wash the mattress pad but she managed to miss them so have to wash everything down to the mattress. Damn Cats!!! I think I have another pad so will have to put 3 on the bed.

I need to go to the bank since the banks were closed by the time I got back to town yesterday. I was thinking about making a dessert for the campout but now I think I will just buy something. I have to pass Sam's on the way so will probably stop in there.

I never watch the day time talk shows but got a big dose of them yesterday waiting on my car. I had never seen the Wendy Williams Show. I now know you don't have to have any talent to be on TV. Who the hell cares what she does all day. She was talking about something stupid and a lady across the room and I both rolled our eyes.

As usual someone started a new post while I was posting.

Since I am left handed and love filet mignon, I will celebrate both. It is a lovely day here on Whidbey Island. Temps haven’t gotten much above the lower seventies since I have been here. Happy Tuesday!

I had my kidney stone procedure yesterday and was supposed to be home by noon. Unfortunately, they kept me all night, so I had a tiring and uncomfortable night in the hospital. They put me in an overflow room, which is a room that used to be an examining room but now has a regular hospital bed and big TV. I had to go down the hall to use the restroom, but at least my room was private. I was up and down about every hour all night, but they kept me on a lot of pain meds at least.

I was SO happy to get out this morning. When I got home, I took a shower, but the place on my hand where the IV was attached started to bleed in the shower. I grabbed it and put pressure on with my other hand, and managed to step out of the shower, but I ended up getting my washcloth and the rug I step on outside of the shower bloody. Put the tight bandage on and cleaned everything up. Then I crawled into my own, very comfortable bed and slept for three hours! Still feel groggy, but very glad to be home. So far, very little pain from my stent, but will be glad to get it out next Tuesday. Hope this is my last kidney stone for this year.

yesterday worked on dd's pantry and I am sure some other things then we went to SLC and helped son with his move I opened kitchen boxes knowing that they will need to go through and replace them where they want but at least a few boxes won't need to be opened...hopefully it made it easier... they do have a nice house been initiated already   told son he ought to take Dot out he didn't and she did but no carpet... smart move... we were there way late...or felt like it we left about 9ish I am guessing... sil is still down but it's not the S nerve..... think that is good. so there is a lot not done and the girls come home tomorrow but at the same time lots done... did finally get an appointment for both dogs... when I finally got an answer from the groomer as to a time i asked if she had time to do dd's dog and she did ... so will have to get both dogs there... if my eldest dgd was going to be here would have her help but her sister's get home at 5 and she flies up to the dad's at 8 like passing in the wind almost... going up to her dad's to help out step mom is having a baby and has a 2 year old so she needs a bit of help...she will be there about 3 weeks
I will be going back up to Idaho on Friday

Sheila, you sure keep busy! You are always running all over to help out with stuff. What do they all do when you are down in Q for the winter??
