Saturday the 3rd

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Saturday the 3rd

Good morning ladies!

Yesterday I made it to Curves (4th time in a week! Yay me!) and then came home and took a nap...almost 4 hours! Must have needed the extra sleep! I need to get to bed earlier I guess.

Am on-call for work til noon and then work until 6. Off again tomorrow. I really need to get more hours. I will see if I can get some extra hours at another salon for awhile. We are having a haircut sale in a couple weeks so I will get more hours that week. Then things should start picking up around October when the snowbirds start heading back. I am still hearing rumors of a new shop going in a couple miles from me, but that will be awhile before that happens. Would be nice to be a lot closer to home.

Martha, Lola is really good about covering up her stuff in the litter box except when she has diarrhea but she does try. I am just grateful that she is always able to get to the litter box in time! That smell permeates the whole house and unfortunately, I can't open the windows to air it out. Using lots of air fresheners! I think I am starting to not notice it so much tho  . It is getting better now with her having more solid stools. I sometimes sing the "Smelly Cat" song to her!

I was looking into places I can go to cool off for a day trip. I just checked Lake Hemet which also has a campground and is up in the pine forest in the mountains just west of here. They want $25 just to spend the day there!! That is an expensive walk in the woods! Will try to find somewhere else that is less expensive. Maybe up in Idlywild. I need some outdoor time. Been cooped up inside for too long and getting cabin fever!

Have a good day! :D

Another sunny warm day in my neck of the woods, aka city! Waiting for handyman to get here to start stairs of rebuilt deck. Supposed to reach 98 today. I'm looking forward to fall. I'm looking forward to fall.

Barbie, maybe a different litter would control the smell?

Warm here in Keystone. Sales still down, though. :( So I'm not really needed much unless I cut people's hours and I hate doing that. Things will be drastically cut for after Labor Day though.

We drove from Crescent City to Redding CA. We took 199 to 5 south rather than 101 to 299. I'm glad we did, thanks to Karen. The first 30 miles in 199 were iffy and we held our breath several times. Our friends supposedly drove twice as far as we did to get to this campground and got here 30 minutes earlier, even though they left 30 minutes after we did. It doesn't matter. Other than texting, they said it was too hot to be out side. We are leaving in the morning and going to Carson City and we'll meet up at some point. I think all of us enjoyed our quiet time and will meet up at some point.

Was pretty busy at work today which made the day go by pretty quick.

Beth, I have tried lots of different litter and the one I am using now is the best at controlling odors. It is just that diarrhea is just nasty! Even tho it is more formed, it is still not quite "normal" yet.

No plan for tomorrow, not that I don't have a million things to do

Barbie, I can relate to the nuisance of strong smells!! You might consider getting an air purifier just for your bathroom (or wherever you keep your litterbox).

I have had one of these for years (this specific model, of this specific brand - Holmes), and it is really good at removing various kinds of odors from the air. I do change the filters from time to time, which keeps it really effective. It efficiently removes all kinds of odors - food odors, smoke, etc. Pretty good chance it would also remove poop smell!

I actually have an air purifier I forgot about! Now, if I can find it... :?

Thanks for the suggestion!
