It’s August!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It’s August!

Postby Othersharon » Thu Aug 01, 2019 8:48 am

Good morning all. It’s rabbits day and I actually remember last night or rather this morning before I went to bed. Plus a great time for check in to see what everyone is up to. I’m having trouble thinking that summer will be ending soon. I’m looking forward to meeting up with Donna for a few days of camping. And then right after that the fair starts so that about does it for the month for me! Of course there’s always things to be done around the house too! So that’s about it for me. Time to get my day started and try to accomplish something today! Have a great day and travel safe if you’re on the road.

And I forgot rabbits! This is what comes of talking to the dog as soon as your eyes open. Maybe dog conversations don't really count?

My excitement for today is reserving some October sites on Skyline Drive. I can't wait!

Well good morning and hello August !!
Not much happening here. Appt for a hair cut today, and a little catch up house cleaning. Supposed to go do routine blood work but I forgot and already ate. Maybe tomorrow. Need to do some cleaning in the motorhome, the fridge to be exact. Seems a small biscuit can got left in the refrigerator and since it got hot,,,,,,it was quite a mess when I discovered it last night. Cleaned it up but now I won't be happy until I do some bleach kind of cleaning. Lol oh well, its how we learn our lessons, hahaha
Ya'll enjoy your day

Good Morning from Copper Harbor, Michigan. Far north as you can get in MI. Been a busy week of driving, sightseeing, and what not. Took a sunset cruise on Lake Superior last night, beautiful. One more day here and we will turn back south to base at A state park about 100 miles south for 3 days and explore west toward the Porcupine Mts.

Maki g this short as WiFi is VERY SLOW and cell service zilch here at park. Hope you all have a great day out there.

I remembered Rabbits right at midnight. Hope it makes for a good month!

August is supposed to be the worst month here as far as heat and humidity so am hoping it goes by fast!

Need to get up soon and get things moved out of the way for the stove that is being delivered today. Then I will have to get my handyman over to hook the stove up to the propane since Home Depot won't do that.

Have a few errands to run later and some things to do around here but I think I can squeeze in a nap somewhere too. :D

Sue, have fun on the rest of your trip! Hoping to see some pics later on.

Gotta go. Lola is begging for breakfast #2 already...

Good morning or afternoon as the case is where you are. I'm focused on tying up the last loose ends since the anniversary of Mel's death approaches in a month. Set a goal for the month on decluttering various areas each day as well. Next trip will be to my High School class annual picnic in September.
Ava, vinegar is good at killing mold too. There were also studies done on spraying first vinegar then peroxide on surfaces which showed high kill rate of bacteria, virus and molds.
Have a wonderful day everyone and month as well.

Hi ladies~~~ Happy August to you!

Still at Camp Dad's Driveway but leaving on Monday and will be heading to the Mississippi River for 2 weeks. Yippee!!!

Dad's cataract surgery was yesterday and he's already seeing alot better. Thank God because he is legally blind in his other eye since childhood, which is why he & the eye doctor put it off for as long as possible. Looks like his prescription will change too. His current glasses are too strong and he's gone back to an old pair. With only one eye, they only did the basic lens with no correction. Eye examine won't be for 4 weeks tho.

I must really like the new TT. Getting some decorating ideas for things I can do on the road. That's a new one for me.

Have a great month everyone

I forgot again. I don't see any rain so that's good. Since it's so wet outside I'm having trouble with ants coming in the house. I had to put the cat's food bowl in a pan of water again. I need to see if I and find where they are coming across the cement and treat the yard again.

I found out when we were evacuating vehicles that the Mazda air conditioner wasn't blowing cold air. I finally got around to calling about it. My neighbor was going to give me a ride home. About the time I needed to leave someone showed up to look at the barn damage. I just barely made it to the shop before they closed for lunch. The blue ox tow bar was in the trunk and I took that out. That thing weights a ton. If I drop that on my foot it's not going to be pretty. Everyone thinks the Mazda is so cute but I don't like to drive a standard. It's all I can do to get out of it. If my sister got in it I don't know how we would get her out.

I finally made it to Walmart yesterday. They have now installed gates going into the store. The cooler along the wall that holds cheese, lunchmeat, hot dogs and bacon was completely empty. I ask some one what was going on. The cooler went out and they had to throw all that away. I should have gone in the truck because when I measured the piece of roofing I needed to get for Hank's kennel it wouldn't fit in the car.

I'm cooking Liz's cranberry chicken in the slow cooker. It's starting to smell good.

Today's the day to put the trash out so need to fill the can. I saw some stuff in the barn that can go. I talked to the guy that comes here to ride his horse. He is going to see if he can find someone to get the water and electric hooked up to the property North of here. It would be nice to have somewhere to go when I need to get out. I want to put an electric RV box so I could plug in the motorhome. I wouldn't stay in an RV for a storm but I could get back there before I could get down here.

Got my new stove and microwave! Looks really nice. Still have to get the stove hooked up to the propane but will have to get the handyman over to do that when he has time.

Velda, I can't believe it has already been almost a year since Mel crossed over. You have been very strong as you have dealt with everything since then. Am so glad you are getting out camping and meeting new people, as I remember you were reluctant to do that by yourself awhile back.

I got some woodsy decor for my little trailer but am so glad I don't need to do any work in it. She is ready to roll once I get a WD hitch installed and tires checked/replaced.

Am getting hungry so I think I will try out my new microwave! Then off to do some errands. Lola's litter box deposits are looking much more solid now but still very stinky! Hope that gets better soon too!

I said rabbits sometime after midnight. I don't know if I spoke to Ty at any point after midnight before then. But here's hoping for good luck for all of us whether we said it or not!

Tomorrow is officially the start of Sturgis. Today we had a bike down in front of the store. Wet pavement and the bike went into a skid making a left hand turn. Driver fine. Passenger had the bike/saddlebags land on the ankle area of both legs. (No, I don't know how it got both ankles.) She was aware and in good spirits when taken to the hospital for xrays. Hope all is good.

One of my employees and the woman manning a Sturgis tent in our parking lot directed traffic until the rider left in the ambulance. They did great and deserve kudos.

Now, here's hoping for seeing no more accidents this coming week!

Hard to believe that it is August already... I am in Idaho as I am normally during the summer... hopefully will see Carol and Bill on their travels... as well as Anita guess we will see when they come to the area... Heard of the death of a Q friend who is from Ogden so am planning on going down to help my dd put her kitchen back in order and go to the funeral... my son and his family will be moving into their new house around the 12... so hoping that whoever comes this way it's later or like Tuesday. I think I will go to Ogden on Weds.
Trying to figure out how to get my mom's lawn mowed my nephew usually does it... but his mower isn't working so he asked family to help... made a called tonight to see if we can either borrow a mover or if they will just do it...
made fried rice last night was really good added jalapeno to my salsa much better... even though I didn't put any heat in it needed the crunch factor...
went to my granddaughter's work today had a nice tuna on croissant it was so full that lots of the filling spilled out and so it came home think tomorrow it is going into another sandwich....
starting to think about going down to AZ however it won't happen till late Oct or even early Nov. we are having an almost family reunion Thanksgiving going to Disneyland but two of my kids can't join in... son's family is going on a cruise in the spring youngest daughter went to Ireland so can't afford it. oh well 3 out of 5 I guess is ok... if not for that I think I would try going a different route but need to save the pennies...

Good morning Everybody, I’m a little late in checking in, but everything is fine here in CT. It’s a lovely morning, high 70’s with low humidity; perfect! August will be a low key month for me as I’m reserving my physical strength and fiscal resources for my big trip to the South Pacific in September. Enjoy today and be kind to one another. Peggy

Checking in here to from Ohio. Working on small projects and have two weeks of play time until Josef and I head off to our next dog show. Then we have several larger ones one week after another. He managed to go Best of Opposite Sex three days last weekend and then pulled off a Best of Breed the last day just to show the girls that he is a contender. Over all he can away with 11 more Grand Championship points.

If I can get my Sea Eagle water worthy again it is past due for Lark to experience her first kayak trip. Then, Audrey just pops up and says don't worry about the Sea Eagle repair because she fits quite well in the Hornbeck.... Healthy family competition for a water party. It would be more fun if there were kayakers in my circle of acquaintances here in Ohio but then again the dogs and I get to paddle to our own drummer this way.

Everyone have a month of discoveries. May the majority of them be good for mind, body and spirit. And remember to walk away from the ones that are toxic......

See you next month.
