Sunny Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny Wednesday

Good morning, it’s a gorgeous sunny day here in central Illinois.

I mentioned I’d applied for a part time job on Monday... they called me to set up an interview yesterday, I go in tomorrow to speak with them. It’s for a receptionist job at the local indoor tennis center, hope I get it, I’m not enjoying the process enough to want to keep applying. LOL

Hope everyone has a great day.

Hump Day

Postby Acadianmom » Wed Jul 31, 2019 10:32 am

Another month is almost over. I have put off going to town for 2 days because of the rain. We have an 80% chance of rain but hope we don't get another 2 or 3 inches. My rain gauge that holds 6 inches was full yesterday. The honda place never did return my call and I forgot about calling them back. I called this morning and my appointment for service is August 9. I think they need more mechanics. That's the Friday of one of the Louisiana Belles campouts so unless I bring the car early and leave it I won't be going.

Since I didn't have a real birthday cake I made a strawberry pie yesterday. I like those things a little too much. I am still trying to reduce the food in the freezer so I have had some strange meals. Sometimes mystery meals. lol Last night I had an egg roll and a link of sausage.

Mickie, hope you get the job.

Good morning gals! Looks like we have two MC's started this morning. Beth will have to merge them.

Mickey, I hope you get that job! Interviews are never fun and doing them over and over can be frustrating and exhausting.

I have a whole list of things to do today so I need to get busy soon. Am having some bathroom issues this morning  so took some Pepto to calm things down so I can get going on my list.

Tonight/tomorrow is "RABBITS" time so don't forget! Usually I am good at reminding everyone and then I forget to say it myself!

Lola has just finished breakfast #1 and is begging for breakfast #2. She is looking better now. Her fur is softer and shiny and dandruff is going away. I think she has gained a bit of weight and is more energetic. Litter box deposits are a little less runny but not solid yet. I will keep doing what I am doing with her. I think changing food, meds, etc is probably not helping any so I think consistency is a better way to go right now.

Have a good day! :D

We are in Crescent City CA on 101 and the drive here was absolutely spectacular! I took lots of pictures. I had barbecued chicken in the crock pot coming down the road, so dinner was ready when we got here. The campground is mediocre at best, but at least we had a place to stay. We made reservations months in advance. When our friends leave to go back to FL, I will do lots more homework on finding places to stay. It's a shame places like this are still open to the public and this is not the first place we've stopped at that were like this. The campground we stayed at in Oregon, two nights ago, was the best one we've stayed at, with sites that had a picnic table and even room for chairs to fit. Lots of places are just parking lots. It's kind of sad. I understand we can't fit in state parks since we're in a big rig, but it would be nice to sit outside, in chairs, and not on the steps of the motorhome. Tomorrow we're going to do sightseeing to see the redwoods. If anyone is in our path, please let me know.

went into town and got ingredients that we didn't have to make mango salsa and fried rice how is that for a combo?
the salsa as a lets dig into it while preparing the other and the mango's needed to be used... turned out really good... both...
my sister has been sending lots of recipes thru messenger some sounds really good other have a hmmm not sure I even want to try it... one she sent was more a technique to make Chinese Fried Rice more restaurant style. So decided to try it the technique and stick with the ingredients that the family was used to... although I would try the recipe that she used but the family is so picky that tried and true is best most of the time... and it turned out really good I think...
also got the stain for the treasure box and the sealant for it... will do the inside tomorrow I hope... granddaughter works at a eatery and she works tomorrow so think that dd and I are going to go in for lunch... haven't eaten there before so should be interesting
think it was hot and humid today sure felt like a nap but I needed to go up and start supper and then didn't go up as early as I should have sil came home for supper and supper not ready... he is a deputy sheriff and usually works from 11 am to whenever at night so he tries to come home for supper. felt bad that it wasn't ready
will try and remember that tomorrow is the 1st of the month

Had a fairly clear day today. No heavy smoke or smell. I worked outside for a while in the yard but then had to go to town on a few errands. Came home had lunch and then my game group came over and we played Mexican train for a couple of hours.

Actually took the dog for a walk this evening after it cooled down and it was very pleasant. We are heating up this weekend. Sure glad my AC works well.

Irmi I sent you a pm.

Yeah, I don't like the 'parking lot' type places either. I like to feel like I have my own little yard with some breathing room.

Went to Curves early. It seemed like more work today, whew! Stopped at the library to drop off and pick up books I had on hold. I also checked out the shelves of books and seems like nothing was really in any kind of order. There were no labels on the shelves for the subjects. They were only divided by fiction and non-fiction. They also don't have an automated check out system. I know it is a small town library but they are not very updated or organized. I might try the location close to work in Palm Desert. It looks like a much larger library and is in a pretty affluent area so probably much nicer. They are all part of the Riverside County library system. I usually look for books online anyways and just pick them up but sometimes I like to peruse the shelves to see what I find interesting.

Went out to eat with my neighborhood group and had a nice conversation and meal. One guy has offered to put up my name plaque out in front of my house this weekend.
