Beautiful Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Beautiful Sunday

Postby Queen » Sun Jul 21, 2019 6:49 am

Good morning everyone!

Finally got to the big pool yesterday, we just relaxed and floated around, enjoying a break from the heat.

Today is a food day (I’m still doing intermittent fasting and eating low carb) so I’ll be cooking some. We got a new stove finally! The old one was messed up for months with only the stovetop working, the joys of apartment living; we didn’t have to pay for the stove... but we did have to wait five months for it to be replaced.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Quiet around here this morning after all the excitement of last night. I guess the Comic Con visitors are all sleeping it off.
I had a surprise yesterday early evening...seven young men were out having a bachelor party for my oldest grandson. They came to the condo and got me to join them! First time I have ever been to a bachelor party! I only had one glass of wine with them, then came home. They went on to do the rest of their celebrating without me.

What fun, Lyn! And one more thing to add to your completed "bucket list." :o

A lot of people checked out today, so of course the camp host got out his huge mower that has a big discharge chute and has been mowing for the past couple of hours. It is dry here, so there are only some tall weeks to mow, but mostly what the mower is doing is kicking up dirt that the ground squirrels have dug up. So all my windows are closed and the AC running. I sure would not want to be in a tent through this or be sitting outside.

Supposed to get to 86 today, but so far it is pretty pleasant. Eye is still doing fine, but getting tired of all the eye drops. Got work to do and a lot of TV to watch, so I had better get busy doing it.

I must be allergic to something around here because my eyes are constantly watering lately. I need to pick up some allergy eye drops.

Lola hates me now. :( I have to give her some really icky tasting meds again and she hates it! She fights me hard and then starts foaming at the mouth and shaking her head, splattering the meds on me and everything else. Then she hides all day. By the time she finally comes out of hiding, I have to give her another dose. She seems hungry but is refusing to eat anything I give her. I even bought some chicken broth to put on her food to entice her but that isn't working either. I will have to call the vet tomorrow and see what he says. Her few stools seem to be better but because she isn't eating much there isn't much to check in the litter box. She is already down under 6 pounds so she can't afford to lose any more weight. So now she is either miserable physically, or miserable emotionally. I feel bad for her. :(

No energy today. Just been reading some books about the history of Palm Springs that I got from the library. Very interesting tho.

Lyn, did they make you jump out of a cake or dance??? Seriously tho, that was very thoughtful of them to come get you and include you in on their celebration! Your grandson must think you are really cool! :D

Mickey, I am waiting for a new stove/oven too but I had to pay for mine. It is supposed to be delivered on August 1st. Have been using a hot plate and toaster oven in the meantime.

Haven't heard anything today about my brother David. I talked to his wife Julie on the phone yesterday. He has a neck brace that he has to wear for 3 months. Once the house is sold (in a few weeks) she will drive to Phoenix and he will fly with my other brother down there since he can't ride in the car that long. Julie really has her hands full right now but is a real trooper. I really hope now that they will be closer to me, that we can have a better relationship. My other brother in MN, I really don't care to mend that one.

Back to work tomorrow. Have a good day!

Lyn, it was great that your grandson and his friends included you.

Poor Lola, I know you hate to have to give her medicine. My Stinky is like that if I have to ever give her anything. She gets so up set just going to the vet that she usually foams at the mouth, throws up and poops in the kennel. Hope you can find something to help her. After the last time I had to doctor Mr P for an abscess he won't let me catch him any more.

It didn't get as hot as usual because it rained several times but it was really humid. I was filling my sprayer with weed killer and water and was sweating so much my glasses were wet. I went down to the pond and fished for a while. There are still fish in the pond and I saw 2 alligators. There is too much stuff that floated up on the side of the pond and I can only get to one end. I tried to burn some grass that got washed up in the corner but it's too wet to really burn. We are suppose to have rain all week.

Cats don't understand that we are trying to help them.

We are supposed to possibly get rain and a thunderstorm here on Tuesday. That would be cool! We'll see...

WOHOO Lyn the party animal. LOL Glad you got to get out with the "boys".

Barbie sorry to hear Lola is having issues. Hope it clears up soon.

All is well at my house. Taking the Motorhome in to get my Fantastic Fan fixed tomorrow. New motor. Sheesh it isnt even that old. Oh well it is what it is, and it is my favorite toy. My MH ceilings are 84" tall. I am tall but still needed a stool to turn the old one on. So I love this one.

Will be getting ready soon for my next camping trip. To the coast so it wont be so darn hot I hope. Probably windy tho, it is always windy in Coos Bay.

I just want to vent......I HATE my MAC computer, I HATE ITunes......I HATE my Apple IPOD touch.....okay I feel very much better now. I knew there was a reason my Mac computer was in time out for 10 years.

Karen, odd that you say that you hate your mac computer today. I just replaced the battery in my 2011 macbook pro this morning & tomorrow will add a secondary harddrive. Hoping I can keep it going for a few more years. I'm amazed what a difference the new battery makes & can't wait to offload some of the stuff on my current drive to the new one to see what difference that makes. Total cost $100 - vs $1000-$1600 for a new one.
Lyn, I agree - your grandson must think alot of you to come & take you to his bachelor party - you are one very cool grandma!
Barbie, hope Lola gets better soon. Must be miserable for both of you.
JudyB, hope your eyes adjust so you can tend to eveyrthing you need to more easily. Can't imagine how difficult that would be.
Mickey, congats on the job - dealing with outdoor & camping stuff would be fun.
I look to retiring some day - hate giving up the $$ & structure but about ready to slow things down a bit. May have to if next little grand (due in Nov) isn't as easy as Olivia was. Actually I might use him as an excuse - just as I did when I left the director position to come out here & take care of Olivia. :D

DD just texted me They've been on vacation on the island of Corsica in France for the past week. She doesn't want to come home. Who would? hopefully someday they can live over there & I'll have somewhere to visit. I'd better start learning French. (something to do when I retire, right?)

Take care,

Oh, Karen, thank you for the laugh! Is there a reason it was brought out of time out? Personally I'm really glad that I had to use an iPhone on a workamping job. I'd been considering to switching but I liked that phone less every single day. I was so glad to turn it in when I left.

Catherine, I cringed when I spent a tad over $200 for a phone. So I don't worry as much if I need to replace.

Beth I took it out of time out because I wanted to use my IPOD touch in my car. WELL everything is out of date, my computer, my IPOD Touch, me. It is the hardest dang site to use. Didn't bode well for my emotional health. AND it has this phony 2 step authentication you have to put in after your password..........anytime you want to do something. They have to send me a code on one of my "trusted devices" so if I forget my phone (NOT an Iphone) I can do nothing. Soooooo I downloaded the Amazon Music app............ahhhhhh so much easier to use on my phone (Android). AND I can bluetooth it to my car instead of using the USB port inside my console. I can still play Itunes on my PC or laptop but now I much prefer Amazon. I bought this stupid computer about 11 years ago. I went in the Apple store (big mistake) in Las Vegas and the guy demonstrated all I could do with it and it looked very cool. I got it home and couldnt do squat. I bought several books on how to use it and then finally just gave up. Nothing worked like the books said. "Go Mac and you will never go back"........ummmm NO.

I packaged up your book in a bubble mailer and will get it to you this week......sorry it is taking me so long.

I had Mac computers for years; in fact I started with a Mac. Although I haven't owned a Mac now for several years, I will never forget two of them that I owned (one for me, one for my daughter). The first one, when brand new, I was having trouble getting it to do something (I forget what). I had paid an extra $200 or $400 hundred dollars for "unlimited technical support", so I just called the tech support line. You know what they told me, for my fast $400? "Well, if you would just read the manual, it is all right there in the manual."

There was nothing in the manual that covered my problem. I was not a happy camper.

I haven't owned a Mac now in about 25 years, and don't plan to ever own another one.

LOL. PC 4 Me!
