Welcome Vickie, I am temporarily in New Braunfels, TX. Trying to get the TT ready to take off tomorrow, so I have been a bit behind getting on line. Hope you enjoy having the experience of all the sistahs at hand. They are really great and ready to help with about any subject. I was at Winnie and High Island (TX) the first part of April. Just missed making a trip across the bridge to your spot. Have done some birding over there. You have some choice areas there.

Hope your trailer gets back to you soon...See ya.

Somehow missed this thread and here I am at Sam Houston Jones State Park in SW LA. We're leaving to go either farther south toward Port Arthur or on to Austin-will know when I see which way DH turns. So where are you located or don't you want to say exactly on an open line - which I can understand. Glad you found us. Seems like you fit right in, and yep, I figured you meant the four footed pets, not the two footed ones. ps do you have this set so you know when someone responds to your posts? Guess I'll find out. carold

Welcome. I'm in the Cincinnati, OH area with 4 furry ones and maybe a fifth if I keep one of my pups.... I'm retired but am currently working a seasonal position to help pay back some of last year's Taxes that surprised me. I was hoping to just be working for MH gas money...but it will all work itself out...... Have a stick house and a husband, but am looking to explore the roads with just me and the dogs in the 22 footer..... I've never been to LA...yet!

Okay, I have sorta strawberry blonde/red hair, but I guess their was more blonde lately. I've been trying to learn everyone here's names and where they're at and didn't realize it, Carold, that you were here. I was thinking that Carol was with Liz on the trip and actually thought as I skimmed over a post, hey there's a Sam Houston Jones State Park somewhere else also, Now, as I look back it's Carolinagal, I know, I'm a dufus, lol. Okay, yes, I am north of Sulphur, I checked out your blog link and sent a comment. I hope you don't plan on taking Hwy.82 from Cameron LA to Port Arthur TX as it is in really bad condition in spots from Hurricane washouts, no shoulder and they are replacing a bridge at the state line, but if you go on I-10 then you should be fine. I hope you enjoyed your visit to LA and I'm going to have to go back to your blog and read more about what yall did while here.

Okay VickieP, will allow you a few goofs considering you are a newbie  not sure what the consequences are for us "not newbies". I still have to look up names, places, etc of the forum members (commonly called sisters or sistahs depending on who is posting.) We decided not to even go to Port Arthur and are currently about 2 hours from Austin. Maybe next time we are in the area the fog will have cleared and you will be totally up-to-date. If that ever happens, please let me know how you did it. carold

Hi,

I am also in Louisiana, South of Abbeville. I have a DH that doesn't RV so either go alone or with my sister that lives near DeRidder. Our favorite place to camp(hideout from family) is at Toledo Bend Lake. We both like to fish so go when she has a weekend off. I lived and worked in Lake Charles after college for about 7 years. Do you have a favorite place to camp?

I got to meet Carold and her DH when they stayed in Abbeville about a week ago. They have a beautiful Class A. Would like to hit the road in one like that. I have a small 23' motorhome.

It is so nice to get to meet our forum friends. In the past few years I have gotten to meet a few of the ladies on the forum.

Welcome, Vicki....as you can tell by my posts I'm having issues with the air card and the leaves on the trees... So haven't posted much since we've returned to PA for the summer.......we're a funny loving, caring bunch and just pull up a seat at the campfire and enjoy yourself... ;)

Acadianmom, we also camp at Toledo, my sister has a stick camp at Big Bass so we stay there some, that 's where we rode out Hurricane Rita and Gustav. We also enjoy Niblett's Bluff just west of Vinton.

I usually go to Red's Point. I think it's about 2 miles North of Big Bass near Pleasure Point. I stayed one night at the Lake before Gustaf but got scared of being under the tall pine trees and went to a friends house in Many. I was in college at Northwestern when they impounded the lake. Sure wish I had bought some land then but college kids don't have any money.

I have heard of Niblett's Bluff but have never stayed there.

Last year I stayed at a campground on the Red River at Colfax. It's a new state camp and really nice but not much to do unless you fish. The state built some nice boat docks and piers. Our tax dollars at work. Wish they would build something like that at Toledo Bend.
