May Gray Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

May Gray Thursday

Good morning gals! :D

Got up early (for me) because the repair guy was coming back to finish up a couple things. He just left. The bill was $75 less than what the estimate was, so a tiny bit of good news. So all in all, with the credit for a new roof and the repairs I had to get done, that took $7K off the $120K price on the house.

Have a few phone calls to make this morning and then finish up what I have left to pack. Tomorrow is the walk-thru for the new owner and the final inspection under the house by the termite inspector. Will start cleaning the house then as well. I might even have some time this weekend to relax and get a beach fix in! :D

I feel a UTI coming on again so am loading up on Cranberry pills to see if I can get it under control for now.

Cloudy with no breeze this morning. No rain in the forecast and the sun is supposed to come out later. Just our typical May Gray/June Gloom thing going on.

There was a cougar attack on a 4 year old boy near here the other day. It was in a preserve that I used to hike at close to where I lived back 8 years ago. There had been some sightings recently there and signs were posted, so not sure why a family would go hiking there with little kids. The boy will be OK. His dad kicked the cougar and threw rocks at it and it left. The wildlife people came out to investigate and the cougar showed up and had no fear of them at all, so they shot it. :( I can understand why they had to do that but it is still sad. Hopefully it didn't leave any babies behind.

Hope the waters up north are receding now and things will start to calm down and dry up some.

Lyn, how is your trip in Ely going?

Have a good day! :D

Beautiful day here today. Haven't seen alot of sun lately but it is here now and no rain in sight. Cleaned up a few bushes this morning, chatted to a few neighbors, and now back in the house. Going to run the vacuum then throw in some laundry. Nothing much else here going on.

It looks like there might be some rain headed this way so I mowed. It's overcast and 88 so wasn't too hot. I got plenty of sun at the lake. I need to remember to put sun screen on.

I have to go to town in a little while to get my hair cut and get gas for the mower. I have cut on my hair a couple of times and I have it in a mess.

Barbie, hope your sale goes ok.

I am tired! We must be at the bus at 5:15 AM to be transported to breakfast. After breakfast we are in the field until 11:30 for our bag lunch! The college packs the lunch for us, and, is a tip pickle college persons lunch! Things were fine until today when the black flies came out! Oh, do they bite! I have been going to bed early, like right after dinner, and skipping the evening activities, like canoeing and tonight, looking for birds in the dark!
T.his is extrodinary beautiful country. The teachers are excellent. I am a lovin it, but boy, I am too old for these kids actIvities!

Ok, Lyn, please explain what a "tip pickle college persons lunch" is, please.

Nothing to report here. Boring, long day. But it's warm out and the sun has been around.

Good luck, Barbie.

I too, had to laugh at "tip pickle" which I think is supposed to read "typical".

Yes, Lyn, that is the drawback of northern MN, is the bugs! Otherwise very beautiful surroundings! Enjoy! How much longer will you be there?

Getting things done here slow but sure. Got more forms to sign yet for escrow (on-line). Got my phone calls taken care of. The buyer decided not to do the walk-thru until Sunday now so that is good. I will have the house all clean, flea fogged again, and my roommate will be moved out by then.

Went out for lunch, then went to JC Penneys and bought a couple hot weather outfits. Got almost 50% off of it. Then stopped at WM for a few small things I need. Want to use up my cookie dough and already packed up my cookie sheet so I bought a cheap ($1.50) pizza pan to use for those and since I don't have a pizza pan, that will work for later when I need one. Also got a small tub of butter because I still have half a loaf of bread and some cheese, but ran out of butter, so I can make grilled cheese sandwiches to get me by until I move, and the tub will be easier to take with me than a stick in a butter dish. :D My roommate will be taking any food I can't take with me (frozen stuff mostly). What she can't use, she can give to her kids and grandkids.

Sun is out now and it is beautiful!

Tired here. I get up go to work early. Work all day and after 9 or ten hours I come home. Then I rinse and repeat. My brain hasn't done this much "multitasking" in a long time. The project that I am on is complex and difficult but apparently my skills as an instructor/teacher are still effective. Most of my readers are qualifying to read on my project. I keep reminding myself that this level of effort and work doesn't have to continue for long. The deadline to get the project completed is next Tuesday afternoon. Many of us will be heading back in on Saturday to work anther 6 hours. I can write up the reports and complete the paperwork in a more relaxed fashion after Tuesday. The dogs are thinking that I have left them behind and neglected to take them one these all day adventures. I did manage to get back yesterday evening in time to stop by the vets office and pick up their flea and tick meds. I had used theirs all up over a month ago. Luckily I had one left last weekend and was able to give it to Josef after finding a small tick on his head Saturday morning grooming him for the show. Luckily it hadn't been on long and won't leave a bare spot.

May the weather been more gentle across the nation on everyone and you get to accomplish what your heart sets out for you.

Tina

PS. I have been asked to help with another project the second half or so of June and on into the beginning of July. I said yes, because I seem to enjoy having money in my savings account to fund my adventures and dreams.

here I am binging on Blue Bloods.... went up and helped dd for awhile with moving her room. we got the stuff out of a cupboard into another one... the teacher was still moving out into a room that was being cleaned then when she gets out of her room they will be cleaning DD's new room then she can finish moving stuff into the new room... but you have to do it when someone will be at the school so you can get in..she asked me to come up about 11 as she had to be in with interviewing potential new teachers... didn't see her till after 12 and we had to be gone by 2 didn't have as much time as we needed. Grandson graduates tomorrow so will be heading home tomorrow.. went to see my cousin who lives in a care center... she isn't liking it there and would like to move but isn't sure how to go about it... her kids set her up has a really nice apartment in an area that she told her kids she never wanted to be put in... don't understand why they choose to put her in a care center anyway but she is .... she asked if I wanted to eat there after telling me she didn't really like the food... one guy had a curry lots of pea's and carrots in the meat mixture... and the vegetable for the meal??? was pea's and carrots... that doesn't make since at all. the guy was really grumbling about it.... don't blame him I would as well...
want to get my stuff collected and ready to take out in the morning the dresser is in the truck so hoping it will still be there in the morning... not the best of neighborhood's
glad the creek is going done Beth

My Grandson is going on an 8 day canoe trip up in the Boundary Waters in 2 weeks, I will have to remind him about the bugs and flies. He won't be happy about that! He has never been there before, so hope he overlooks the bugs and enjoys the beauty of the area.
