Good evening! I am wiped out!
My handyman Bryan got here at 8am and we got going right away. Took the freeways all the way to Indio, 2 1/2 hours. Didn't take very long to unload the car and trailer which was good since it was already 90*. Then dropped off the trailer and headed to my new house. Picked up the Spectrum wifi box on the porch and showed him the out side of the house, and drove around the park a bit. Then stopped to eat lunch and headed back home. Took the mountain route back. He had never been that way so thought it would be fun for him to see it. The drive up the mountain is steep and curvy. I was in a line of cars going up, when I looked in my rear view mirror and saw this car right behind mine (so close I couldn't see his headlights!) and weaving back in forth!
I was sure he was gonna hit me! I swerved real quick onto a gravel pull-out area next to me and he sped past me and passed the two vehicles ahead of me (one was a pick up pulling a large travel trailer) in a no passing zone on a dangerous curve and almost hit an on-coming car coming the other way! Just crazy!! And scary!
After that, it was uneventful and beautiful as usual. But all that driving today really took it's toll on me and I was stiff and exhausted by the time we got back to my house. Took a nap for a couple hours. Gonna take it easy tonight and go to bed early.
Will start in on sorting and packing what is left tomorrow. I hate going thru all the last minute stuff because it is all in the "miscellaneous" category and I never know what to do with it. It all usually ends up in boxes labeled "misc", never to be gone thru again.
Will try to get some sense of organization with it since I have time. It is nice to have the majority of my stuff out of here and a whole 'nother week (8 days actually) to get stuff finished up. Need one day to work on the yard and outside of the house, and one day to clean the inside of the house.
Ava, you must be feeling better now. That should be a fun trip coming up, and I agree with Beth to try the River Road to Wisconsin.
