Next to the last Saturday in May

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Next to the last Saturday in May

Postby Irmi » Sat May 18, 2019 11:32 am

Morning is gone, so I have bottled water and iced tea if anyone would like a beverage.

We spent the last couple days in the Outer Banks of North Carolina in a town called Kill Devil Hills right on the ocean. It was good to get away and get our minds off things. In fact, the two nights we were there, I slept through both nights, unlike the previous two weeks. Because we acted immediately, we didn't have any financial loss but lost the only two credit card numbers and Steve's cellphone number. We didn't lose the credit cards or phone but somehow they were stolen.

Temperatures in the Outer Banks will be in the high 70's today and here in Wilson NC, we just got back, the high will be 93. Being on the ocean makes a big difference in the daytime temperatures.

Enjoy your day, whatever you are doing!

Irmi, glad you had a chance to get away and relax for a couple days. That can make such a big difference when you are stressed out. My little trip to the desert made a real difference in my stress level and mood too.

Still in bed. I usually wake up around 7 but slept til 9:30 this morning. Need to run to Home Depot and exchange the flea bombs for the right ones. My roommate is leaving around noon today for the whole day so will bomb the house then and I will probably take a drive along the beach for a few hours. I am due for my beach fix!

Sunny weekend here and then rain all week. Nice cool temps which is great!

Have a great day! :D

(Karen, I left you a PM)
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Irmi, glad you are feeling better. I sleep better in the RV than at home. Probably because I'm not sleeping with 3 or 4 cats.

The lady showed up to look at my motorhome. She has never had one and I think she is really looking for a van type.

I don't know what happened to the rain we were suppose to have. The wire cage where I burn trash is full and I would like to set a fire but it's blowing a gale. I don't want to set one of the fields on fire. I would like to go to town because I'm bored but don't need anything. Guess I'll just go fishing. I made reservations for the June campout with the Louisiana group. That's a month away so would really like to go somewhere. If the weather would calm down my sister and I could go to the lake. I need to order a soft sided kennel for Sweetie Pie. I can't go off and leave her in a cage and I don't want to board her.

Irmi you so deserved a break. And a good night's sleep.

The cold has returned to Keystone. Crazy. Supposed to hit 50 on Thursday and hopefully will continue that trend. Meantime my final could for the season arrived today and I have a very good feeling about them. Fingers crossed that my feelings are right. And Ty likes their dog.

I'm glad I love the Black Hills because this has been a trying start to the season!

Glad things are settling down for you Irmi. It is just frustrating and anxiety producing for sure. Now relax and enjoy yourselves.

I had good intentions today but they fizzled out. I am parked on the couch watching a movie. Covered up with my blanket and a dog by my side, it is all good. The weather is chilly and windy. No rain yet but cloudy so might get some later. Think I will bake some muffins, YUP I am sure that will make me feel better. Blueberry muffins it is LOL

Been chilly and breezy and rain off and on here today. In process of migrating to new iPhone after carrying the little5s 5 1/2 plus years. I am hoping to learn to upload a photo here.

My roommate didn't leave until after 2pm so I wasted half the day waiting for her to get out of here. Got the new flea bombs this morning and set them all off this afternoon (except for the porch where the cats were). Then I took off towards the beach. Stopped to pick up some lunch for a beach picnic. Decided to go to the beach in Del Mar but when I got there they were having a wedding at the park and there was not parking available anywhere near there so headed back north. Stopped in Solana Beach and ended up eating my lunch in the car. There was an art festival going on there so I walked around there and bought a few things (clothes) and walked down to the beach at the park there. Was a beautiful sunny, breezy and cool day. Got back home after 3+ hours and opened up all the doors and windows to air the house out and then left again for a few more hours. Went to WM, Bed Bath and Beyond, JoAnn Fabrics and the new WinCo grocery store. There is a WinCo also right down the street from where I will be living so that is cool! Big store and good deals! Just got home a little bit ago and the house is all aired out now. There better not be any living thing left in this house!!!

Finally got a copy of the home inspection report for this house and there are quite a few issues. There are some plumbing issues that need to be repaired ASAP, and termite issues which also need immediate action. Will have to get those taken care of this week. Also the roof is in bad shape. Got the request for repairs from the buyers agent and they want a credit of $6500 for the roof (reasonable) and the termite and plumbing issues taken care of. I am considering myself pretty lucky for just having to dish out for those things, considering there are some other major issues that were found under the house. I am surprised this house wasn't placed on a concrete slab but maybe they didn't do that back then. My new one is on concrete. I am dodging a bullet by getting out of here sooner than later! I don't remember any of those things being brought up from the inspection (except for the roof) when I bought this place a year and a half ago. I should have had the roof replaced right away then.

No plans for tomorrow yet but should probably start on packing.
