Final day Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Final day Friday

Postby BarbaraRose » Fri May 17, 2019 2:43 pm

My last day of work for awhile! I have two weeks worth of sick pay coming so that will cover the next couple weeks and then will wait a few weeks, once I move to get settled in out there, before starting to work again.

Already went to Home Depot and Walmart this morning. Needed more flea spray and bombs and got a set of queen sheets on sale at WM. :D Also bought some paint for my headboard. It looks like a picket fence and is white but is dinged up and dirty, so it needs cleaning up and a nice paint job before I move it to the new place.

Lola got a clean bill of health yesterday altho I need to wean her off the prednisone. Also got some flea treatment from the vet that is supposed to work better than the stuff at the stores. Don't need any hitchhikers going with to the new place! :o

My second butterfly never hatched out of his chrysalis. I guess they don't all make it. :( He was right next to the first one and that one was fine, so who knows what happened.

The sun is out here and is breezy today. Rain returns on Monday for the whole week. :(

Hope you all have a good day!

Well afternoon is here and I still havent been to Home Depot or Walmart. I really hate to go on the weekend so I might go later on today. I got busy cleaning and sorting in the house. Now I just had lunch and dont feel like going anywhere....that could change.

I was following a story about a fellow who was stranded (car problems) at a campground (? boondocking I think) in Surprise AZ. He was the only camper there (camps in a tent). He has a small dog, was almost out of water. Had a mobile repair fellow coming but he also broke down on the way. Well a Good Samaritan stepped up and drove from Phoenix out to help him. Brought him some water and snacks. She drove him into town, got water and supplies. This is a quote from him

" She really helped me out a lot! Took me to the nearest town and got me some supplies and much-needed water! I truly appreciate her help! Now, need to have someone look at my car! LOL. But, at least I won't die of thirst or hunger"

Someone from the Food Bank in town also stopped by and brought him some food.

AND now everyone needs to know it was our own

Talk about a Good Samaritan. I love these "feel good" stories.

The yard didn't really need mowing again but it's suppose to start raining tomorrow so mowed again. I didn't want the grass to get ahead of me again.

Went to the pond to fish for a while. Now there are 2 alligators in the pond. One is very nosy and comes to see what I'm doing. He hasn't started chasing my bobbers yet.

I'm going to miss one of the meetup meals tomorrow. Someone says they are coming to look at the motorhome. I can't believe how many people say they are coming and never show up.

Yea, Alice!! How good of you!

After spending a few hours in the emergency room getting some info on my current kidney stone and a very restful night at the local hospital RV parking, I am at my favorite campground in Eugene! I stopped at Camping World to get some filters and a new paper towel holder and then picked up a few groceries on my way here. I'll be here for about 10 days before heading north to Washington for a couple of weeks and then south to California for a couple of weeks.

Good luck on the rest of your move, Barbie.

Way to go Ava! Doesn't surprise me tho. You are always there to help out anyone who needs it.

Done with work now for awhile. One of my co-workers gave me a goodie bag with all sorts of cute stuff in it for my new house, and some much appreciated chocolate! :D I work with a great group! Will surely miss them!

I told my roommate that I plan to flea bomb the whole house tomorrow so she said she will be gone for the day with some friends. I discovered tho that I bought the wrong stuff at Home Depot so will have to exchange it in the morning for the stuff I have used in the past that doesn't leave a film on everything and it doesn't require turning off pilot lights.

I might go to the beach for awhile tomorrow while bombing the house. Will keep the cats out in the porch while doing that.

Good night!
