Cloudy Wednesday Morni g

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good Morning. Beth, thanks for posting yesterday. That would have been a first if we had missed a day. I got up a bit later than normal yesterday, wanted to go get my trucks oil changed and run a quick errand, so headed to town after breakfast. It was a beautiful day and I also wanted to take advantage of that to get some yard work done. Did some Monday too. Landscape ties along a flowerbed, lawn ornaments set out in the bed, removed a wooden hose holder from front of house wall, looks better, cleaned up around that area, mostly raked gravel back against foundation and then laid temporary tie in place. Got my lawn tractor up and running for season, hauled my dethacher out, then mowed and dethached at same time, so yard looks good. Since I am a volunteer for our HOA, did same at our sub main entrance. Supposed to rain this morning and be a mix of sun and showers over next few days, so wanted to get this stuff done. You know, the old, make hay while the sun shines saying.

Tomorrow I take my trailer in for new WD installation. Looking forward to not having to mess with chains, sway control devices etc. Then need to give inside a good cleaning and get stuff back in from winter storage in basement. Time for first trip of season is fast approaching.

Taking a day off from working around here and going to Traverse City. Delivering a package to Lyn that arrived in mail while she’s camping over there, enjoying all the sights of a MI spring bursting forth. Crazy for her to drive over here just to pick that up. I like going over this time of year when the flowering shrubs and trees are in bloom and want to check out few things anyway. So guess I will end this and go have some blueberries, wash my hair and get ready to roll.

Barbie, glad the inspection turned out well. You will have your work cut out for you. I would hold one to the queen bed for the time being, get settled in and go from there. Get a set of queen sheets from Walmart and just throw your comforter on top for now. You need something to sleep on while you go through things etc. might be a little crowded, but only temporarily. It’s taken me at least two years to get this place to where the maintenance is routine stuff now and making it “mine”. A lot was cosmetic, mostly maintenance that hadn’t really been done in past few years.

Have a great day all and by the way, just saw it’s National Chocolate Chip Cookie Dsy. So we are free to indulge

Mornin' Sue & all that follow~~~
Congrats on the new great grand Sheila. That's alot of family generation. Most be good genes.

Currently parked in a crappy CG in Colorado Springs. Feel like I'm in a storage lot. It's mostly residents that live here & a park down the road doesn't look much better. Ah well, it's a short stay so I'll survive but not sure Punk will. There really isn't a place to walk him. Luckily CO is very dog friendly. He's been to Red Canyon, Garden of the Gods & today the Manitou Cliff Dwellings before we head across the highway to visit a friend that I worked with for 30+ years.

Ohhhh. Chocolate chip cookie day. I eat anything with chocolate chips. Cookies, cake, ice cream, pancakes, etc.
That's it from me. Have a good day ladies.

Getting up early this morning to head out. Have to be to work by 2pm so need to hit the road soon. It is a 2 hour drive and I want some time to relax a bit before going to work.

Chocolate chip cookie day? OMG! I will have to bake a big batch tonight!

Hoping the weather is getting a bit warmer for you Lyn! At least it isn't snowing up there! It can still do that this time of year up that way.

Surprised to get an email from my SIL the other day wishing me a happy Mother's Day. :o She is the wife of the brother who sends me mean emails. She can be a real "B" sometimes too, but then surprises me occasionally with really nice emails. I never know what to expect from her but was glad to get such a nice email this time.

I better get moving here... have a good day!

I got a Facebook message from my son's second ex-wife wishing me a happy mother's day. Wonder what she would think if she knew I had thoughts of running her over in a parking lot. The first ex-wife sent me flowers and camping chairs.

I am still waiting for my son to bring me to pick up my motorhome. Seeing how dependable he is with things I ask him to do I'm not surprised he can't keep a job.

It's another sunny day but not quite as hot as yesterday. I think we had a cool front come through last night.

No chocolate chip cookies for me. I replace the chocolate chips with toffee, my favorite. There use to be a flavor like that in the refrigerated cookies but they must have quit making it.

It's a cloudy day here in Sacramento area. Rain is expected at some point they said on news. Temps to be in low 70's I think. I'm up and dressed to take Mandy cat to her UCD vet hospital internal medicine appointment for her high thyroid. Hope hope she is ok for radioactive iodine treatment for 95% chance of cure. She is certainly acting better since we hit the one week mark after stopping the nasty methimazole drug. She did not do well on that. At a active 14 she deserves a chance for a healthier future.
It's been the usual whirlwind first half of May. First younger sons birthday on the 3rd. Then the 8 month mark since Mel died. That was quickly followed by his birthday and a trip to tell him Happy Birthday and bring him flowers from the rose he planted years ago for Mothers Day. Few days later it was Mothers Day. Then yesterday, older sons 39th birthday (the disabled son who lives with me). We went to breakfast at a waffle place, then made rounds of Verizon, Best Buy,and Frys, before picking up his cake. I then called Verizon to speak to Customer Retention and had her shut off Mel's phone and explain how that would affect my plan and what an unlimited option would do (adding a smart phone for Chris it has me paying $20 less a month). I then told Chris "Let's go" and he thought we were headed to dinner. Surprised him by letting him pick his choice, a Google Pixel 3AXL phone. I upgraded from 5.5 year old iPhone 5s to a new XS Max. Easier on eyes but harder to fit in pocket, but I'm a iPhone gal. After dropping new phones at home (apparently you get to set up your own phone now on upgrades) and we headed to Olive Garden for dinner. I was able to get a very delicious piece of salmon and a serving of broccoli after the standard salad as my low carb option. Ended evening at home with a few more gifts. He was too full to eat his cake and I'm proud of thus carb addicted guy skipping dessert.
Got word yesterday that younger son, in MN in Law Enforcement Academy, got 100% on his first final! Graduation Thursday evening then last final Friday due to all their snow/weather days.
That brings me up to date. Ongoing maintenance from long neglected tasks getting done and I'm sorting and tossing and donating my way through inside.
Have a marvelous rest of your day.

Whew, Sue, you are wearing me out!

Today is going to be a slow day for me. I drove from Bullard's Beach SP yesterday and am at Champoeg SP, which is part of the state heritage area here. (Pronounced "sham-poo-ee" which does not sound French at all!) Drive took all day, but I stopped in Eugene at a Macy's and tried to find a down pillow I like, but they were on a two-for sale, and I do not want two of something, so I will wait. My current down pillow is 7 years old and has a couple of feather clumps in it, so time to get a replacement. I did find a very nice, thin nylon jacket that I can fold up into a very small packet to carry in my bike basket. Wish it had a little pocket to fit into like my old LLBean jacket had. That jacket lasted me 35 years, and I just tossed it recently!

I really like this campground. Strangely, it reminds me of one in Ohio because it is open, in a grassy meadow, and has very nice, far apart campsites. (A loop is under trees, while B loop where I am is open and grassy.) Water and electric only, but that's all I really need anyway, since I can go 4 days without dumping my tanks. Half empty last night and 3/4 empty today, although I expect there will be people arriving tonight for overnight. I stopped briefly at the museum-visitor center, but it was almost closing time, so tomorrow I go out to a nearby shopping area to get some sealable storage containers (for stuff in my one compartment that leaks) and some Einstein bagels. Will stop at the visitor center then. There is also a museum farm right next door, but they are not open until Friday, so will stop here on my way back to Eugene.

Other excitement is that yesterday I had some kidney pain and blood in my urine, no doubt from passing another kidney stone. So what else is new. Getting tired of this lifelong problem. All seems OK this morning.

Oh, and I just got out one of those oatmeal chocolate chip cookie mixes to remind me to make it later. The packages are really easy and taste as good as mixing it yourself.

Barbie, I'd look into what Liz purchased over a golf cart... Personally like them better. I can't think of what they're called offhand though.

Thanks Beth...I need a golf cart for taking my golf clubs to the course and on the course. That kind of scooter wouldn't be allowed on the golf course. But thanks for the suggestion! :D

Sue, I was just thinking about that last night. Probably a good idea for now. I did measure my headboard (looks like a picket fence) and it will fit perfect between the two night stands. Just need to paint it.

Martha, I love your response...

Just looked it up and it is a trikaroo. Looks like something I would consider if I were someplace stationary! https://trikaroo.com/

Barbie, could you use your current bedspread if you added a dust ruffle around the bottom?

Thanks, Judy. I was proud of myself for somewhat remembering the name and was in a hurry. I, too, will look into getting one if I ever decide to spend more time at my casita.

Editing to add it would come in handy this summer, actually... Street legal and the hitch carrier is perfect.

I measured my comforter and it will hang down about a foot on either side but the bed sits high with a 4 or 5 inch memory foam topper on top of the mattress and box spring. She already has a green bed skirt which would match my comforter but there will be a gap between them, but I guess I am not trying for the Martha Stewart award. The OCD/perfectionist in me needs everything to match and fit perfectly, so it will bother me a bit but I can deal with it for awhile.
