Mid May Saturdsy

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Mid May Saturdsy

G’Morning all. Sun is shining brightly out there after a rainy Thursday and even snow mixed with rain yesterday morning. Sun finally made an appearance yesterday afternoon, so the front has moved on. Lyn rolled out in the raindrops Thursday morning, but probably ran out of it on her way to mid Michigan.

Velda, glad you were able to go visit Mel on his birthday. I’m sure he is celebrating in his heavenly home. I need to get the flowers out at the township cemetery where my parents, aunt and uncle, dad’s aunt and uncle and my one grandmother are and eventually I will be also. I just put artificial ones there as it takes time and water to keep live ones growing.

Hopefully today I can install the new blinds in my trailer and get my new mattress topper in there so it can expand. Bought a new one from www.mattressinsider.com, so hoping it works. If not, can return within 30 days. Also working on a little picket fence project for along my flowerbed by the house. Cut the pickets from a fence that was behind my shed down to size and picked up some new boards to mount them on yesterday. Will probably have to paint them in basement as still too cool for outside painting. So those are my projects for now. Getting new WD system installed on my trailer next week and then need to get it cleaned up from summarizing/winter storage, put stuff back in and get ready to leave on first trip of the year.

So, guess it’s time to get a move on here. Have a great day and for those who are Mom’s, have a wonderful Mother’s Day tomorrow.

I have been working long hours all week and the "man in the recliner" headed off to Canada and and a Pottery Workshop last Sunday. The dogs have been enjoying their sitter coming in everyday to let them out. Connie usually goes outside in the yard and plays with them, throwing the ball and running back and forth wearing them out. (The fenced yard is about an acre.) She also checks on the cats, cleans the cat litter and makes sure their bowls are refreshed because she said, "I know how tired you must be when you get home." The dogs and I are all going to be bummed out next week without her. The "man in the recliner" is not as invested in attending to the joys of dogs.

Work is long, mentally stimulating, exhausting and profitable. I so appreciate knowing I can afford to pay for the recent vehicle repairs and new tires and still look forward to traveling when this is all done. Darn this being responsible stuff.

In a little while I am heading north to Lima, Ohio, to complete a small judging assignment for the Mid-West Regional Gordon Setter Club. I will judging their Sweeps Stakes. Judging "Sweeps" means evaluating puppies that are from 6 months to 18 months of age and Veterans Sweeps which are dogs older than 7. I think there are only 15 total entered. Tough job but someone has to do it. I get to spend a chunk of my day outside, with beautiful dogs and people who love dogs.

When I get home I get to groom the beautiful dogs here.....Josef has another weekend of dog shows next weekend in Indiana.

May everyone find some sparkly moments this weekend that brings them joy and/or at least quiet smiles and warm thoughts.

Rainy morning here in San Diego. Kept the bedroom and bathroom windows open all night to keep it aired out from the flea bombing yesterday. Luckily, it didn't get too cold overnight.

Off to work shortly for the day. I work tomorrow to, so not much will get done around here before Monday. Need to load up my car with stuff tho for the trip to Indio. Will pick up the UHaul trailer Monday morning, load it and head out as early as possible.

Mother's Day will be bittersweet for me. With my mom gone almost 12 years now, and then not knowing when I will get to see my daughter again, will be a sad day for me. :( I guess I am still a cat mom tho.

Have a good weekend!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Our community participated in the city wide garage sale. Cummins is right behind us and they allowed us to use their parking lot along with German car club. I went over and mainly visited as I dont need to buy any more "stuff" I didnt go into town to check that out cause I know I would buy something I dont need!!!

Pretty much taking today off. I wanted to go to town but decided being it is Mothers day tomorrow that would be a really stupid thing to do today, so will wait until Monday. Just doing some inside chores. Laundry, changed my bed sheets, ran the Roomba, made some taco meat up for later. Not sure whether to have a taco or a taco salad....time will tell. Now settling down to watch a movie.

Hi everyone! I read your post daily but my brain is in the mud. We are victims of identity theft, or have I already told you that? Our credit card numbers and Steve's cellphone are gone. We got our credit card numbers so long ago we don't even know where to begin. We have applied for a couple cards online and went to a bank yesterday to apply for another. Called Verizon on my phone to get Steve another cellphone number. I don't wish this on anyone. I'm living in a think fog and can't see.

Sorry to hear about this, Irmi. It must be a truly miserable thing to deal with.

My sympathy is with you.

Irmi I'm so sorry you're going through this. You won't believe this but it's actually easier, I feel, today to deal with identity theft then it was years ago. That doesn't make it any less of a pain and simply no fun to deal with. I say this because an employee of mine had identity theft back in the early 80's and it took a few years... Someone was actually using her name, her social security #, etc... And annually the IRS would come after her because she wasn't claiming all her earnings. It was costly and almost caused her and her husband to need to file bankruptcy.

I truly feel for you and hope as the days pass and you get new credit cards, etc, the anxiety of this can calm some... Then some more.

Remind me everyone to quit going shopping on the day before holidays, etc. My last visit to town shopping was the Saturday of Easter weekend. Then there I was today, the Saturday before mother's day. What a zoo.

my granddaughter was involved in a yard sale/bake sale for her honor's club... guess each one made a goal that they hoped to achieve her's was mostly baked goods and a yard yatzee set we laughed because they spent 140 to make stuff which sold and make her goal of 70... something wrong with the math there
so roamed around there for a bit didn't buy anything but did look. still on baby watch the baby's mom was even at the yard sale...
going to go over to mom's for a bit tomorrow... made a Hummingbird cake to take she said she only has a chocolate and some other flavor of cake there one of her great grandkids b'day was yesterday so thinking her grandparent's bought cake... but have made the cake so it's going over. a rather dense cake made one in the past not sure about this recipe or perhaps it's the maker???? but did use the oven yea!!!
not sure what the deal was last night but went to bed super late even for me which is very late (time got away from me) then Shadow got off the bed yapping so finally I took him outside he really peeded a long time then back in up on the bed and probably was asleep before I was...then this am I picked up some pads I keep on the floor just in case... and he had peed on one but was really clear and lots again... not sure that was a lot for him... was a really nice day although now it's cooling off need to go get something warmer on...
