It’s Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It’s Tuesday

Postby Othersharon » Tue May 07, 2019 11:10 am

Still morning here for a few minutes! A second sunny and warm day but tonight it’s supposed to fall apart again and today looks like are last nice day for a week. Welcome to spring, I suppose! I worked with my son at the new house the last couple of days and probably the rest of the week since he took off work. Their house sold and they need to be out by June 3 so the push is on. It won’t be finished yet but hope to have a working kitchen and at least one bathroom. Bedrooms are ready to be moved in now.
Irmi, hope you manage to get the credit card situation settled soon. A stress you or anybody needs. Sue, are you and Lyn still exploring? I started. Project in Lola’s bathroom. I managed to take the mirror off the wall today and still have some sticky tape in the 4 corners to try and remove. Tried alcohol but that didn’t work so will try to something else. Friend just suggested peanut butter so what the heck, will try that next! But no time now, got to head for son’s. Think we’re hanging OSB today and tomorrow drywall. Have a great day today and stay safe from the storms.

I'm off to dump my tanks, do some laundry, donate some clothing, and get some clam chowder from the little cafe in the Bandon Harbor. Want to do some walking around, also. Then later today, will move all my extra heavy 30 amp electrical cords and connectors to a front basement storage area from a rear one--still working on moving weight from back to front. I need to go through both of my pass-throughs because things tend to get lost in there and I forget what is there.

Also got a new set of papers to start grading tonight. Constant work with teaching, but it pays for my lifestyle, and I hope will help me keep my brain alive longer.

Sunny day today and chilly. Supposed to get close to 70s later in the week, so I might go to Coos Bay to a state park with a botanic garden one of those days.

Yes, Sue and I are still running around! Went down to Frankenmuth today. Louise came over from Lansing and met us for lunch. It was good to see Louise again and hear all the Drew stories. We sat in the sun and visited for quite a while. We behaved ourselves!! Don’t need bail money today! Lyn

Good afternoon. Came in for lunch after working all morning in the yard planting a few more bushes that I bought at the Ashland Greenhouses. I need to stay away from there. Now I have to had another line of water sheesh.

Made reservations at Armitage Park in Eugene the other day as I will be meeting Laura and we are going to the FMCA Rally in Albany. Going to see what it is all about. I have been an FMCA member for several years but never have gotten involved. Hoping to find a chapter with people I like LOL I want to do more camping and they have a campout every month it seems except in the winter. I signed up for their Roadside service last year and had to use them last month for a tow. Hopefully that is my last interaction with them LOL

I have a few more things to plant but it is rather warm and sunny out where I want to plant so will either do it later or tomorrow morning. Will also run another water line and then I will be pretty much done and able to escape. Things look pretty small right now but they will grow. Not paying big bucks for a bigger container plant that just might die LOL I bought a small Rhododendron, Azalea and a Hydrangea plant so hopefully will grow up to be big and strong ha ha

The home inspection lasted about 3 hours! I think I am going to end up giving the guy a credit for a new roof :( I knew I should have gotten that done when I first bought the house. So far I have a couple of plumbing things to take care of (new piping outside and new earthquake bracing on the water heater). Haven't gotten the full report yet so will see what else they want. .

Cats both went into hiding with all the people in the house earlier. Still haven't seen Emily yet. More than one person is too peoply for her. Now three of my roommate's grandkids are here so she won't be coming out of hiding anytime soon.

Ran some errands after everyone left. Dropped off my vacuum cleaner to be fixed, and a clock that needs fixing. Made reservations for a small UHaul trailer and a Motel6 reservation for next Monday night. The home inspection in Indio is Tuesday morning. Still need to reserve a storage unit out there. Will do that tomorrow.

Breezy day today. When the sun is out it feels hot but as soon as some clouds roll in, it gets chilly. Otherwise a nice day.

I think my butterflies are about to emerge! The chrysalis's are getting dark. There are several more caterpillars outside but we are leaving them out there now.

OMG! More little kids just showed up! Now we have 3 adults and 7 kids here! Hopefully, they will all be leaving after dinner! 6 of the kids are under the age of 6  (two sets of twins). I won't see Emily kitty for another week! :o
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie, my cats would not be happy either with all the people. It's probably stress making Lola sick. She probably knows something is up.

I went to PetSmart today to get another kennel for Sweetie Pie. It's getting too warm for her to stay in the old house. I didn't want to bring the big kennel in the house because I would have to take it apart to move it. I had one that is 24" X 36" and got another one. I put them side by side with the doors together. The litter box is in one and her bed and food is in the other. It gives her a little room to move around.

I had a headache when I got home and took a 3 hour nap. I'll be up all night. It never did rain and I should have finished mowing. Now they are saying it won't rain until Wednesday but it's flooding in Houston. Hope that goes North of here.

woke up before the alarm thought I ought to get up but no it's cold out so snuggled down woke up later thought it's still cold wonder what the weather is going to be just as I reached for the phone to check it started to rain... so since Shadow was still sleeping I snuggled down some more way late when I forced myself out of bed....but it had stopped raining so thought I'd better get Shadow out before it started up again... There was a fund raiser for the youth's activities tonight so I'd planned on doing an eclair cake but with the rain I got to thinking that perhaps that is one of the foods that when it's more humid out doesn't turn out well.. (the base is cream puff dough) so had a change of mind made mint brownies plated them up with 6 to a plate... thought perhaps 5 up to maybe 10 no.. went for 45 65 and 60 I was floored... the huckleberry dishes??? they start out at a hundred one bought one and donated it back 2nd time around went for 190 don't remember what the first time... totally surprises me every time I go to one. I know I can't afford to bid... might give the kids money for the kitty... so that was my day not a lot of anything
keep a few brownies at home.... will enjoy later. need to get my feeders up looked out the window and saw a house finch.. and read where the hummers are already in Canada didn't think they would be this far so soon. may not see any this year

Sheila I love seeing fundraisers like that doing so good. Unfortunately I'm always priced out (fortunately for the fundraisers, though).

Barbie, I hope all the fixes aren't too costly. And I hope you have as thorough an inspector for the new place.

I hope our temps, when they start up Friday, will head to normal range eventually lol. Bit I'll be happy with them going into the 50's and 60's again. Weird spring!

Yes, this is my second post today, but I want to say something important. I ran my errands today and did my laundry, but then came back to the campground. Before I put my slides out, I dug into two other basement storage areas. One was the one that keeps leaking, but where I foolishly was storing some old clothing and books, suitcase, and such. I had pulled out a big container of clothing two days ago and went through it--tossed everything except one pair of shorts and an evening bag. Yes, an evening bag!! Can you believe it??? Like where was I planning to use it?

So, even though I cleaned out my large house in 1997 and my condo in 2012 when I moved into my motorhome, I obviously do not learn well. Overall, since I started full-timing in 2012, I have lost 35 pounds, but there have been some downs and some ups, so I had packed away some nearly new clothing, on the ridiculous belief that I would wear it again someday. Except I forgot it was there and went out and bought more clothing when I lost and gained and lost again. So it was mostly mildewed.

So, I emptied the rest of the stuff in that bin and put back the empty "clothing bin" except I moved my heavy 30 amp cords from the back to this area. I very seldom use them, so it was a good place to put them. I also found some business books, two purses (besides the evening bag I found on Sunday), and some other junk I had forgotten I had. 95% of it is gone to the trash now. So, I am officially swearing no more storage of clothes I might someday fit into again!!!!

The evening bag and a couple of other items are going to my granddaughter. I also have some gold chains and nice jewelry and my oldest granddaughter is turning 12, so I am going to pass some of it on to her.

I also cleaned out the storage box where I put my hoses and assorted hookup stuff, but I still have two pass-throughs to work on. I feel like I am cleaning out my condo again!!
